This Zine works to bring awareness and education to domestic abuse in the United States. A history report of what has been done thus far to advocate against domestic abuse is included, as well as explanations of different tactics and models that are continuously used to combat the issue. Additionally, stories of women’s experiences with domestic violence are told to describe the issue in a real way. Tools and information about red flags, healthy relationships, and supporting and escaping domestic abuse provide individuals with ways to move forward as they approach the issue.

Our Zine brings awareness to the effects of social media, advertisements, and societal standards on young girls and women across the globe. We researched multiple countries in order to see how women in different cultures face eating disorders and plastic surgery in order to fit the beauty standard. Many women struggle with body image and with feeling secure as themselves due to social media filters, beauty standards, and societal pressure.

The way in which women are portrayed in the media is a very diverse and prominent issue in society today. This issue is also one that affects each of us on a daily basis, as stereotypes portrayed in the media are often used as a comparative measure. This zine serves to bring awareness to these stereotypes through specific examples from television, movies, and social media advertisements. This zine also outlines the male gaze and oversexualization, and explains how these things affect many different aspects of women’s lives.

"Behind the Burqa” covers various topics about the current state of women’s rights

in Afghanistan. These topics include women’s access to education, the drug trade, women being forced into marriages, and domestic violence. To achieve this, the main focus of the zine was to highlight the voices of women within Afghanistan and those that are fighting for their rights.

“Work it Women!” covers various topics surrounding women in the workplace. The zine begins with a note from the authors, followed by a brief history of women in the workplace. Throughout the entire zine, there are historic facts, examples of successful women in the specific topics presented in the zine, and an overall theme of theme encouragement. The goal with this zine is to educate the reader on what women in the workplace experience, but not to discourage the reader from wanting to be a successful woman.

THIS article examines the contribution made by Sr Sara Grant R.C.S.J. to modern Christian engagement with Advaita Vedānta. It considers her own spiritual journey which led her to find in Advaita Vedānta a suitable way of expressing a non-dualist form of Christianity and how, in pursuit of this, she engaged both theologically with Advaita, like Richard de Smet S.J., and spiritually with Advaita like Swami Abhishiktandana. The article argues that her distinctive contribution to modern Christian engagement with Advaita Vedānta lies precisely in the fact that she was able to combine a theological with a spiritual encounter, which neither de …
