Advanced Fiber Composites In Textiles: Enhancing Material Selection With Ashby Charts, Mevludin Shabani
Advanced Fiber Composites In Textiles: Enhancing Material Selection With Ashby Charts, Mevludin Shabani
UBT International Conference
Composite materials, especially advanced fibers like aramid (e.g., Kevlar, Nomex) and carbon fibers have revolutionized textiles through improved material science and manufacturing. Aramid fibers offer exceptional strength, heat resistance, and chemical resilience, crucial in protective gear and industrial fabrics. Similarly, carbon fibers, known for their high strength-toweight ratio, thermal stability, and versatility, have transformed aerospace, automotive, and highperformance textile sectors. This research employs Ashby Charts for comparative analysis, guiding material selection in textile design based on properties such as strength and thermal stability. Despite challenges in cost and scalability, ongoing research aims to enhance raw materials and manufacturing processes through …

Carbon Fiber And Cobalt Composites In The Nanotechnology Industry And The Analysis Of The New Flexible Structure, According To The Ces Edupack Method (Ces Selector Grant)., Nam Ostergllava, Arenë Ostergllava
UBT International Conference
Carbon fiber and cobalt composites are advanced materials with wide applications in the nanotechnology industry due to their unique mechanical and physical properties. This study uses the CES EduPack (Granta CES Selector) method to generate and compare the structures of these composites. Through the analysis of stiffness, strength, density and cost data, the advantages and trade-offs of each material are identified. Carbon fiber composites stand out for their high stiffness and strength, but have a higher cost compared to cobalt composites, which offer greater flexibility and higher density. This detailed comparison provides a solid basis for the optimal selection of …

Extending The Frontiers Of The Detective Novel In Adaora Ulasi’S The Man From Sagamu, Onyeka Odoh
Extending The Frontiers Of The Detective Novel In Adaora Ulasi’S The Man From Sagamu, Onyeka Odoh
CLCWeb: Comparative Literature and Culture
Part of the beauty of detective literature is the mental engagement and psychological contest it stages between the author and the readers, as well as its fascinating probe into the nature and dynamism of crime. However, of greater import are the formulaic structural elements that define the genre—a crime, the detection of the crime, an omniscient detective who intelligently investigates the crime, and a justified resolution of all. Though the structure of Adaora Ulasi’s The Man from Sagamu does not exactly fit into the above model, it is still a detective novel. Therefore, this essay aims to propose a new …

Moving Beyond World Music: An Exploration Of Non-Western Music Cataloging Practices In Higher Education And Where To Go From Here, Alastair L. Canavan
Moving Beyond World Music: An Exploration Of Non-Western Music Cataloging Practices In Higher Education And Where To Go From Here, Alastair L. Canavan
New Librarianship Symposia Series: Fall 2021
The term “world music” has been used for decades as a catchall genre to describe any form of music outside of Western classical. As a byproduct of the eurocentrism pervasive throughout academia, its use furthers a bubble that others or ignores Non-Western cultures and their music. By examining the public-facing catalogs of 13 university libraries across 10 different countries to determine to what extent Non-Western music is included in their collections, how it is cataloged, and if the term “world music” is used to do so, the specific cataloging practices and norms that perpetuate a bias toward Western classical music …

Carolina African Runner Peanuts: Connecting African And Alabamian Agricultural History, Abby West, Gary Padgett, Matthew D. Campbell
Carolina African Runner Peanuts: Connecting African And Alabamian Agricultural History, Abby West, Gary Padgett, Matthew D. Campbell
The Councilor: A National Journal of the Social Studies
Social Studies has the potential to impact STEAM education in unrealized ways. It can have this impact by being meaningful, integrative, value-based, challenging, and active. This article examines teaching about Carolina African Runner peanuts and the history of Alabama’s agriculture. The introduction of peanuts to Alabama and the enslavement of African people cannot be removed from a lesson such as this – nor should it. It is through value-based education that social studies contributes the most to STEM and STEAM lessons. This article is significant in that it demonstrates a history lesson that is active rather than passive. This article …
A Chronology Of Medieval Historical Narratives, János M. Bak, Ivan Jurković, Justin Lake
A Chronology Of Medieval Historical Narratives, János M. Bak, Ivan Jurković, Justin Lake
All Complete Monographs
This chronological guide intends to offer a first orientation in the historiography and hagiography of the Middle Ages, from ca. 500 a.d. to ca. 1500 a.d. Its specialty is that—in contrast to most other reference works—it is not organized alphabetically by author and/or title, but chronologically, by centuries. We attempted to list texts written later—or even much later—than the period covered, but containing relevant information on it; however, we do not claim completeness for these long-term titles. In other words: if one wants to know, which chronicles (in the widest sense) and saints’ lives contain a narrative for a given …
