The Miser

The Miser tells the story of old man obsessed with wealth, determined to marry a young woman who is actually in love with his son, and marry his daughter to a rich man, though she is in love with someone else. As the children are trying to live according to their own designs, events are complicated further when the miser’s hoard is stolen.

The Pajama Game is a musical based on the 1953 novel 7½ Cents by Richard Bissell. The book is by George Abbott and Richard Bissell; the music and lyrics are by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. The story deals with labor troubles in a pajama factory, where workers' demands for a seven-and-a-half cent raise are going unheeded. In the midst of this ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the grievance committee head, and Sid, the new factory superintendent.

This paper will attempt to show the anachronism of setting, theme, tradition, character delineation, and speech that Giraudoux deliberately puts into his dramatic world. Only two of his neo-Hellenic plays are studied in detail tor this paper, Amphytryon 38 and Tiger at the Gates (In France called La Guerre de Trois n’aura pas lieu--The Trojan War will not take place). His third neo-Hellenic play, Electra, will be commented upon briefly. This paper will attempt to provide a comparative survey of the four comedies of Oscar Wilde (Lady Windermere's Fan, A Woman of No Importance, An Ideal Husband, and The Importance of Being Earnest) with an emphasis on the differences between the first three comedies and the last. Background material germane to Wilde's development as a playwright, and a brief evaluation of Wilde's position in English literature, largely based on his reputation as a playwright, will be included.

Death of a Salesman is a 1949 play written by American playwright Arthur Miller. It was the recipient of the 1949 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play. The play premiered on Broadway in February 1949, running for 742 performances, and has been revived on Broadway four times, winning three Tony Awards for Best Revival. It is widely considered to be one of the greatest plays of the 20th century.

The Crucible is a fictional story of the Salem Witch trials, telling the deterioration of a Massachusetts town when a group of women are accused of practicing witchcraft. Millar wrote the play as an allegory for McCarthyism.
