LAAS relates one such encounter on a voyage of discovery related to the biography of Rear Admiral Samuel Phillips Lee she undertook with Dudley T. Cornish, a successful and altogether fortuitous collaboration which benefitted both scholars and their profession. Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

The man who created the child-spies of 1984, JONATHAN ROSE makes clear in his examination of George Orwell, was a writer filled with nostalgia for childhood. Assistant Professor of History at Drew University in New Jersey, Rose has recently completed a book-length manuscript on the intellectual history of Edwardian Britain and hopes to launch a scholarly journal devoted to the life and works of George Orwell.

This curriculum project has developed gradually over the past fourteen years during which time I have been teaching in the public elementary schools. I have always loved poetry; therefore it seemed natural to make the reading of poetry a standard part of my curriculum even in my first years of teaching. As the years went by and my own increasing enjoyment in reading poetry was coupled with and encouraged by the positive reactions of the children I taught, it seemed only natural not only to read more poetry in the classroom, but, also, to begin to do some exploration of …
