Matthew 11:25-30 is a rich passage that reveals the nature of God's revelation to His people and the spiritual rest that He generously offers to them. This paper discusses both of these prominent themes and how they connect this passage with the rest of God's grand story. Furthermore, this paper addresses the implications of this passage on the life of a disciple.

Ezekiel 36:24-28 is an important passage both for the original audience and for modern day Christians. In this paper, the connections between this passage and the rest of the biblical narrative will be addressed. Why is God saying that He will give Israel a new heart? What is the motivation of God's action? How should we respond today? What led Israel to be in this position? These are all questions that will be addressed.

Fear, unrest, and hopelessness were just some of the emotions that marked those living in Judah during the time that Isaiah was writing. Following the realization of the reality that Judah is to be destroyed, Isaiah was motivated to give prophetic words of encouragement to the people. He wrote to shed light on the great plan God had for His people and the ultimate righteousness, hope, and peace that He promises His people. Independent Study Project (ISP) Collection

This investigation explores the significance that offices of gender have for queer university students in Chile. It is based on the historical Mayo Feminista protests and the resulting passage of Ley 21.369, which aims to regulate sexual assault, gender violence, and gender discrimination in higher education. This law mandates Chilean universities to have offices of gender specifically dedicated to meeting these goals. This study draws on interviews to learn from the lived experiences of queer university students and directors of the offices of gender. A Delicate Balance: Pennsylvania College In The Pennsylvania Borderlands, 1832-1860, Vivek K. Rallabandi

Student Publications

This paper discusses Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College) and its presence in the Pennsylvania borderlands region during the antebellum period, 1832-1860. The paper argues that Pennsylvania College's location and the "borderlands" identity of many of its students and faculty were integral to how discourse and actions surrounding slavery and abolition manifested themselves at the institution. The paper indicates that Pennsylvania College's antebellum history can serve as a microcosm of broader trends in American borderlands communities during this period. Crucially, this paper is shaped by primary source research conducting using minutes of Pennsylvania College's debating societies, the Philomathean and Phrenakosmian societies, …

One of the first international students that attended Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College) was Tadaypaly Veeraragava Roy, who was a student at the college for about a semester in 1876. Roy was a student from Guntur, a prominent city in what is now the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Guntur was the center of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church's missionary operations in India, and there were many missionary schools and churches in the region. It is possible that Roy came into contact with Lutheran missionaries that may have made him aware of Pennsylvania College's existence. As one of the college's …

Textbooks have been a staple in many world language (WL) programs for decades. But how do current higher education efforts to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning spaces affect the use of commercial textbooks in WL classes? This report presents how a small German program at a large metropolitan university in the Southern United States redeveloped its program goals and materials to create engaging communities, address matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and adjust program practices based on constant evaluation. Research and Reflection on Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

The University of Dayton’s Community Arts Engagement certificate program was recently launched with the teaching of its first introductory seminar. The program and this course were conceived to be broader in scope for arts majors than the more familiar arts administration minor program. Several of the outcomes of the seminar—both those planned and those unforeseen—can be informative in thinking more expansively about experiential learning and community collaboration in arts education or other disciplines. This article represents a narrative description of the program and its introductory seminar and a personal reflection after teaching the seminar for the first time.
