The 1975 edition of the Anderson College journal of art and literature, briefly named Sun and Shadow. However, this edition is a continuation of the Ivy Leaves journal.

The names of the known editors for this issue of Ivy Leaves were Carol Sigman, W.F. West, Jr., Anne Bishop, Susan Brooks, Phyllis Chafin, Melanie Edmunds, Mary Lou Junkins, Sharon Kemp, Susan Kiger, Beverly Knott, Steve Lewis, Pam Matthews, Pat Raper, James Tallent, and Jean Wellborn. Betty Wiseman graduated from Belmont College and began teaching health and physical education in 1966. She was the founder and coach of the Belmont women’s basketball team, the Rebelettes (now Bruins), in 1968. At the time, it was one of the first women’s collegiate teams in the southeast. She was inducted into the Belmont Athletics Hall of Fame in 1981. She was also inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Wiseman coached the women’s team for 16 years (1968-1984) before moving into athletic administration at Belmont. She served as Assistant Athletics Director until her retirement in 2013. …

PROBLEM: Millions of children read and view the Caldecott Winners each year There are no published studies regarding the possible stereo-typing of the role of the human, animal and inanimate female image in the texts and illustrations of these 37 books.

Purpose: The. investigation ·was conducted to determine the extent the total population of the Caldecott books did stereo-type the role of the human, animal and inanimate female image.

They have been studied as black women, middle-aged women, sexual women, women in poverty, women in prison, women raped, executives, celebrities, lesbians and homemakers. The classifications and combinations approached infinity. Now older women are becoming a more popular research topic, as their numbers increase with medical attainments. Irene D. Broh was born on November 20, 1880, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Through the influence of her mother, a suffragist who worked with Susan B. Anthony, Mrs. Broh joined the suffrage movement and helped women earn the right to vote. After marrying Ephraim Broh in 1909, she moved to Huntington, WV, where she organized a suffrage club in 1915. Mrs. Broh became the first woman to vote in Cabell County, WV, in 1920. In her interview, Mrs. Broh focuses on her work for women’s suffrage. She describes how she organized her club, the voting facilities in Huntington, and her experience …

The Westbeth Playwrights' Feminist Collective will present Seattle playwright Gloria Albee's feminist Medea, directed by Patricia Carmichael, at the Westbeth Gallery Theatre, 155 Bank St., January 17-19, 24-26, 31; February 1 and 2. Friday and Sunday the performance begins at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 7:00 and 10:00 PM. Admission is $2.50.
