However, no former research focuses on radio as a single medium and investigates how gratifications change over a person's lifespan. This study utilized an altered version of Elliott and Quattlebaum's (1979) ten media gratification list and questioned a 14 to 60 year old sample group about the gratifications they receive from country music radio. The researcher selected country music because it is the most popular radio format today and because it provided the wide age parameters needed for the study. Two hundred and thirty-nine users of an Internet country …

Orlando Gets Hockey But Not Nhl Hockey, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

When the announcement came a little over a week ago The Orlando Sentinel fell over itself like the lapdog it has become for the Orlando Magic and the DeVoss family. It was of course the major news that Orlando was about to get a hockey team in the International Hockey League, and the city was about to facilitate the process with another sweetheart contract with the family DeVoss for use of the O-Arena.

Monday Night Football's 25th Anniversary, Richard C. Crepeau Dec 1994

Monday Night Football's 25th Anniversary, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

It is the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of Monday Night Football. The other networks laughed when ABC announced it was going to take NFL football into prime time. Who would watch? The Baseball Strike And The Issues, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

How long has it been now? Two months. Three months. Does anyone remember exactly when the baseball strike began? For the record it was August 12, 1994, some three months and a week ago. Then in early September came word that the season was gone, and the playoffs and World Series were down the drain.
