Throughout his career, Richard Diebenkorn has employed both abstract and figurative compositional techniques. During the period between the 1963 retrospective exhibition of his figurative paintings at the M. H. de Young Museum in San Francisco and 1965, when he began work on his widely acclaimed and ongoing Ocean Park series, he produced a series of over one hundred figurative etchings, among them, domestic interiors, portraits of his wife, table-top still lifes, nudes, and San Francisco Bay Area landscapes. Betty Wiseman graduated from Belmont College and began teaching health and physical education in 1966. She was the founder and coach of the Belmont women’s basketball team, the Rebelettes (now Bruins), in 1968. At the time, it was one of the first women’s collegiate teams in the southeast. She was inducted into the Belmont Athletics Hall of Fame in 1981. She was also inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Wiseman coached the women’s team for 16 years (1968-1984) before moving into athletic administration at Belmont. She served as Assistant Athletics Director until her retirement in 2013. …

Creating weavings on the frame loom is an important method to be investigated in that it is possible to create complex and creative forms without using the intricate process of the harness loom. Because frame loom weaving has so many advantages for secondary art students, it should be investigated and explained so that future teachers, who have had little or no experience with it, could see its value and teach it to their own students.

This piece discusses the concept of HabiTEXT in relation to navigation, exploration, and environments. The article opens with a brief explanation of the relationship between human nature and navigation. This discussion then transitions to MUSHes, and how they invite users through the interactivity of virtual environments. Later, the internet and its vastness are mentioned in regards to how it allows users to explore and find different virtual communities. These topics lead up to the introduction of HabiTEXT as a space and environment where individuals are capable of holding analytical and conceptual discussions.

This thesis statement is of a two part nature. The first part shows photographs of my creative products in the process of making them and in their completed state. The second part deals with the process involved in my mental activity as these objects were created.

I have presented the photographs of my work first because I feel that viewing the work before reading the text is of primary importance. Visual comprehension of my work is my major purpose.
