The purpose of this garment project is to distribute part of the waist dart intake of a basic front bodice block to create the armhole dart. This is achieved using the slashing technique, where the waist dart is cut to the bust point and part of the intake is transferred to the armhole. The vintage-style collar complements the bodice, while the pleats add structure and visual interest to the skirt.

This dress design features a halter neckline with both side and neckline darts, creating a structured and well-fitted bodice. The pattern is developed using the Slashing technique, in which the waist dart of the basic bodice is transferred to the side and neckline by closing the original dart. The skirt is further enhanced with safety pins placed along the sides as a design embellishment. This combination of technical construction and bold detailing creates a cohesive garment that balances structure with an edgy aesthetic.

Hans Christian Andersen’s 1837 story, “The Little Mermaid,” is a popular fairy tale that has been adapted several times by writers, filmmakers, and game developers. It is one of the few fairy tales with explicit portrayals of disability; the mermaid in the tale is nonspeaking and experiences chronic pain, as well as being a mermaid—a nonnormative figure who is aligned with disability. This paper looks at the ways that the mermaid is portrayed in literary, film, and new media adaptations from a disability-justice perspective. Examining multiple representations of the character, I argue that while feminist adaptations erase her disability and …

This design explores the transformation of a basic bodice by relocating the waist dart to the shoulder to create a clustered effect of three smaller darts. The method used to achieve this is the slashing technique, which allows for controlled redistribution of dart intake. By closing the original waist dart, three evenly distributed darts are opened at the shoulder. This approach enhances both the visual interest and structural design of the garment.

This cowl neck design showcases the art of dart manipulation and how it can transform one pattern into another. The project began with a basic bodice block and skirt pattern, which are developed into an asymmetrical drop-waist dress. The purpose of this quantitative, predictive correlational study was to determine how accurately income satisfaction could be predicted from a linear combination of annual income and inclusion of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills curricula in liberal arts education programs among public college graduates within the past ten years. A purposive sample of 87 graduates was drawn from universities with established art programs who graduated one to ten years ago. The planned behavior theory formed the logic model that guided the thought process, attitude, and reasoning behind this study. Over time, Japanese light novels and media inspired by it have been heavily influenced by RPGs in implementing skill systems, with one common trope arising from this being the ability to copy or steal others’ skills. However, there aren’t many games that implement this familiar trope despite how it takes advantage of an integral system to RPGs. Rather than treating enemies as simply obstacles, having to copy skills from enemies turns them into a resource. This project aims to implement the skill copy mechanic while also minimizing player-side specific handling so that skills are interchangeable between both players and enemies.

Depictions of earthly entities, sacred architecture, crystalline portals, reliquary and geological forms are what drive my narratives of ancestral beginnings in-between states of physical and metaphysical realms.

I rekindle and reimagine what it means to stay connected to the land and ancient people of the past. Digital Print Ordering System For Ugs, Han Nguyen

This project redesigns the UGS digital storefront to make ordering custom prints clearer and less confusing for students. Research showed that many delays happen because users submit incorrect files, such as wrong formats, low-resolution images, or missing fonts. To address this, I created an interactive prototype that guides users step-by-step through the ordering process and includes a built-in file checklist with simple export instructions. Instead of relying on a separate PDF guide, the new system supports users directly within the workflow, helping reduce errors and making the process smoother for both customers and UGS staffs.

Generally, children’s materials in early literacy are not well represented in terms of culture, especially for bilingual and Latinx children. For example, many alphabet books include the translation of the alphabet in Spanish and English; however, these materials often do not include the translation of the alphabet in a cultural context. Instead, they often separate the two languages and create a disconnect between the two for bilingual children. Graphic communication is a significant area of concern in this case, as the use of typography, composition, and color can greatly impact how the reader processes the information being communicated.
