The aim of this dissertation is to identify and assess the impact of macroeconomic and property variables on prime office rental levels. Data from seven diverse European cities was gathered from 2000 to 2014 and statistical analysis using econometric modelling was undertaken. The results unveil a number of relationships between the explanatory variables and prime office rents. In particular, the results highlight movements in the office vacancy rate and GDP as important variables impacting change in prime office rental levels while employment, interest rates and inflation play a less significant role. This Dissertation examines both Central Statistics Office (CSO) published and unpublished demographic evidence from the 2011 and previous censuses, so as to evaluate the 2002 National Spatial Strategy’s (NSS) selection of Gateways and Hub settlements. On its own, population is an incomplete measure of size. Recent anecdotal evidence has shown that property boundary disputes have been on the increase over the past number of years (Prendergast 2008 and 2011). This paper will highlight results from a questionnaire to Irish property professionals in an effort to understand what they have been dealing with over the past number of years, including the impact of the PRAi Digital Mapping Project on their work, the most common type of dispute they deal with, the length of time they devote to property boundary disputes in the past 10 years and the number of Boundary Surveys conducted between 2007 – 2011.

This paper presents results of a study of projected costs for a grid-connected PV system for domestic application in Ireland. The study is based on results from a 1.72kWpPV system installed on a flat rooftop in Dublin, Ireland. During its first year of operation a total of 885.1kWh/kWp of electricity was generated with a performance ratio of 81.5%. The scenarios employed in this study consider: a range of capital costs; cost dynamics based on a PV module learning rate of 2+/-75%; projections for global annual installed PV capacity under an advanced and moderate market growth conditions; domestic electricity cost growth …

Municipal authorities throughout Western Europe are attempting to drive regeneration of their urban centres through policies designed to attract inward investment and tourism. In an attempt to woo these outside economic agents in, a variety of cultural consumption oriented policies have been developed and marketed.
