This study explores the relative connections among pedestrian movement patterns, land use and street configurations by analyzing the pedestrian volume, existing land use patterns as well as the street configuration of Mymensingh. Mymensingh is a historic town in Bangladesh which was established by the British Colonists more than 200 years ago along the river Brahmaputra. The street patterns of Mymensingh was developed by the fusion of the wide streets made by British Colonists and the narrow streets made by the local inhabitants. Amber Reiff started volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in high school and joined the Purdue Student Chapter as a freshman in 2014. During her sophomore year, she became more involved and held the position of Vice President of Development. While serving in this role, she planned on-campus advocacy events and recruited volunteers for Saturday site builds. This research note reports the results of using Skype as a medium to conduct semi-structured interviews in qualitative studies within the context of Saudi Arabia. Skype audio-only interviews were used to explore the concept of privacy from the perspective of female users in the context of the spatial design of contemporary Saudi houses. This study examines microeconomic factors that affect Bid Difference between the designer’s Engineer’s Estimate and the contractor’s Winning Bid. Historically, the accuracy of the Engineer’s Estimate and the Winning Bid vary. To account for this discrepancy, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recommends a contingency be included in all Engineer’s Estimates. Statistical analysis was performed to determine if state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) were currently meeting the recommended Bid Difference values. Data was collected from California, North Carolina, and Ohio from 2012 through 2014.
