Filters Used For Roundness Error Evaluation: An Experimental Comparison Study, Fatma Elerian
Mansoura Engineering Journal
Filtration is a necessary step in roundness measurement. The type of filter affects value of roundness error. There were many studies that explain the differences between filters theoretically and few of them have studied the differences practically. This study aims at introducing a practical comparison of the following filters (2CR50, 2CR75, 2CRPC50, 2CRPC75, Gaussian and no filter) in order to demonstrate the effect of each on roundness error values. RA-120 ROUNDTEST instrument was used for measuring out of roundness of 25 turned workpieces. Least squares reference circle (LSC), minimum zone reference circle (MZC), maximum inscribed reference circle (MIC) and minimum …

To achieve those objectives, the researcher adopted the 'Analytic-Descriptive Approach', as it is suitable for this study throughout reviewing the literature related to the research subject, describing the current situation, …
Effect Of Nanogel Windows On The Window-To-Wall Ratio (Wwr) With Reference To Daylighting And Energy Consumption, Fatma Ahmed Elbony
Effect Of Nanogel Windows On The Window-To-Wall Ratio (Wwr) With Reference To Daylighting And Energy Consumption, Fatma Ahmed Elbony
Mansoura Engineering Journal
Electrical lighting accounts for a significant contributor to total electrical energy consumption. Lighting has an energy effect that is not limited to the energy consumption of light fixtures. It also contributes significantly to the building's heat burden. WWR and glazing systems are the most significant factors that affect the electrical lighting and cooling energy consumption of a building. Reduction in WWR means a reduction in solar heat gains and accordingly in cooling energy consumption, otherwise it means increasing in lighting energy consumption. Nanogel windows as highly energy-efficient windows have the greatest potential for improving the thermal performance, daylight, and solar …

Finite Element Simulation Of Metal Cutting Of Aluminum Using Johnson-Cook Damage Model And Shear Failure Model., Mohammed Saber
Mansoura Engineering Journal
This paper evaluates the use of the Johnson-Cook (J-C) damage model and the shear failure model in the Finite Element metal cutting simulations of an Aluminum alloy (Al 1100) using an FE commercial package ABAQUS. For the J-C model, the damage evolution in the model is controlled by the value of the parameter "equivalent plastic displacement at failure", . The value of this parameter is provided to ABAQUS by user. It was found that the value of that parameter, in conjunction with mesh size, highly affects the chip morphology, chip ratio and analysis completion. Therefore, a compromising between the value …
