Scope Of Utilizing Waste Marble Dust In Concrete: Statistical And Surface Response Approach, Khatib Zada Farhan

The sludge produced from marble processing has become a significant environmental hazard in major marble mining and processing countries. Utilizing marble dust (MD) as a partial replacement for cement offers benefits: it reduces the need for landfill disposal, which can lead to air and water pollution, and it decreases the consumption of cement, which contributes to the global carbon footprint. This study examines the key properties of concrete incorporated with MD and develops a composite mix with the optimal MD content using response surface methodology. Justice By Geography: District-Level Variation In Pretrial Release Outcomes Across Oregon, Ethan Loomis

AbstractOregon’s pretrial system operates under a common statewide legal framework, yet detention and release outcomes do not appear fully consistent across jurisdictions. Earlier research on pretrial decision-making has largely focused on judicial discretion, individual-level legal factors, and the use of risk assessment tools, while giving less attention to the district-level environments in which those decisions are made. This study examines whether variation in institutional capacity, political context, demographic composition, and socioeconomic conditions corresponds with differences in pretrial outcomes across Oregon’s circuit court districts.

The Civil Court denied tenant's motion to dismiss for landlord's failure to comply with LLC publication requirements under LLCL § 206 at commencement. The court held that noncompliance is not a jurisdictional defect and that subsequent publication warrants nunc pro tunc application, analogizing to the MDL § 325 registration requirement. Because landlord had begun publication and filing with the Department of State, the proceeding was permitted to continue.

In this nonpayment proceeding, the court denied the tenant's motion for summary judgment and granted the landlord's cross-motion to amend its petition. The tenant argued the landlord could not recover arrears under expired leases per RPAPL § 711(2) and that the predicate Good Cause Eviction Law (GCEL) notice was defective. The court held that arrears under prior leases are recoverable if the landlord-tenant relationship was not severed, as renewals extend the existing tenancy. Graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) is a common and serious complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Accurate documentation of GvHD severity and management is essential for clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary communication, and regulatory reporting to organizations such as the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Younger generations have begun to change their purchasing behaviour in response to growing environmental concerns and global sustainability efforts. This research evaluates the eco-friendly shopping habits of Zoomers (born 1997–2012) and Millennials (born 1981–1996) in India. The research employs the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to analyse how the stewardship model, subjective norms, perceived consumer effectiveness, environmental attitudes and ecological values influence green product buying behaviour. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected from 391 respondents across urban, semi-urban, and rural regions using a structured questionnaire. This study explores the value chain of large cardamom in Tsirang, Bhutan, through a field survey of 260 households engaged in cardamom farming, using a semi-structured questionnaire. The findings reveal a relatively simple value chain: upstream actors include both male and female farmers who cultivate, harvest, and dry the cardamom, while downstream actors are primarily male local and regional traders who purchase, transport, store, and export the product. Women are largely confined to upstream roles, with limited or no participation in downstream activities. The relationship between farmers and traders is predominantly transactional, lacking formal contracts or advance financing. A cost-benefit …

In recent years, Latin America has emerged as a central transit region for extracontinental migrants originating from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East who seek to reach North America through alternative routes. This thesis examines the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection, among other regional migration governance frameworks that have reshaped migratory flows, state responsibilities, and protection outcomes in the Western Hemisphere. Focusing on the Darién Gap as a strategic chokepoint, the study analyzes the effects of coordinated migration policies, border externalization, and differentiated state roles on extracontinental mobility.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and impaired glucose uptake. Despite the availability of pharmacological therapies, limitations such as adverse effects and high costs highlight the need for alternative therapeutic candidates. Tinospora cordifolia has been widely reported to contain bioactive compounds with antidiabetic potential; however, comparative evaluation of their interaction with glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) remains limited.

This presentation is an overview of copyright litigation that has affected libraries. The session provides a hands-on look at specific cases and how they have affected and changed library work over time. A lawyer from the BYU Copyright Office provides commentary on each case and librarians discuss the impact of these cases on library policy. This helps to alleviate librarians' fear of copyright and legislation and provides guiding principles for the future.

This session was hosted by the Copyright Education Roundtable and presented at the Utah Library Association 2026 Annual Conference.
