The Charm Of Chaos: How Disordered Displays Of Cute Objects Enhance Perceived Cuteness And Boost Purchase Intention, Ting He

This study investigated how the order of display influences consumer perceptions of cuteness and their purchase intention in the growing "Cute Economy" era. Contrary to conventional visual merchandising principles, we propose that disordered displays enhance the perceived cuteness of products compared to ordered displays. Through three experimental studies, we confirmed that objects in disordered displays are perceived significantly cuter than objects in ordered ones. We further identified that perceived realness as the underlying psychological mechanism plays a mediating effect; disordered display creates an impression of realness and life-like characteristics that amplify perceptions of cuteness. Mississippi is historically one of the most difficult states to cast a vote, especially for marginalized groups. Despite voting becoming more accessible throughout the United States, recently, Mississippi courts and legislature have sought to reverse years of progress by denying those convicted of felonies the right to vote upon reform and by making it a crime to assist others in casting absentee and mail-in ballots. In this paper, Amanda Noel discusses the implications of Mississippi’s attempts at disenfranchisement and proposes feasible solutions to aid those in accessing their fundamental right to vote.

Purpose: Long COVID Physio (LCP) is an international peer support, education and advocacy, patient-led association of physiotherapists living with long COVID and allies. In 2022, LCP hosted an international forum. One of the aims of the forum was to identify priorities in long COVID and rehabilitation. Methods: We conducted an international consultation on priorities for long COVID and rehabilitation with people living with long COVID, clinicians, researchers, and other key interest-holders (referred to collectively as “consultants”) who registered for and attended the LCP International Forum. Platform owners are met with a litany of challenges as they seek to maximize the platform's value and implement novel strategies to foster widespread adoption. This dissertation focuses on empirically assessing the impact of online platforms in both sustainability and service operations contexts. In the first chapter, we examine the impact of introducing an agricultural advisory platform on smallholder farmer potato production in a single district in Rural India. This article explores two pedagogical virtues (intellectual virtues of a teacher) that arise from the insight that non-epistemic situational factors can affect students' epistemic judgements and behaviour. First, a virtuous teacher must be sensitive enough to these factors in order to take advantage of how they boost student learning. However, while cultivating a situationally and epistemically favourable environment for learning sounds sensible, teachers should not spoil their students by making them too dependent on these beneficial external factors. Organizational theory has developed in numerous directions that have been difficult to integrate. This review synthesizes them into seven perspectives, with theories focused within and beyond the organization (i.e., intra- and extra-organizational dynamics). It proposes the acronym SCRIPTS: structure, culture, relations, institutions, professions, transformation, and social conflict. Within organizations, structure focuses on theories of bureaucracy, management, routines, and decision-making while culture focuses on shared values, identity, climate, and sensemaking. Relations involve studies of interpersonal and interorganizational networks. Institutions focus on the macro-dynamics of fields and isomorphism, and micro-dynamics of entrepreneurship and inhabited institutions. Professions refer to psychological factors shaping individual …

This Article explores a reshaping of the preliminary injunction that is occurring in the federal courts. A preliminary injunction is designed to be a “hold in place” order, blocking actions by the parties that would undermine the efficacy of the court’s remedial options. But the preliminary injunction is becoming a device for accelerating the merits decision. Instead of a four-factor test for preliminary relief, increasingly there is one factor: the merits. This Article critiques this transformation, and it argues that the preliminary injunction should be recentered on the protection of the court’s remedial options.

This largest-ever study of adjudicated violations of Brady v. Maryland provides a detailed and nuanced understanding of who suppresses material evidence in criminal cases, as well as why, how, where, and how often. Its findings complicate the conventional wisdom that Brady violations are the work of nefarious prosecutors who intentionally withhold material evidence from criminal defendants. While it is true that “bad faith” permeates this area of constitutional noncompliance, a substantial minority of Brady cases stem from “good faith” errors by prosecutors and suppression by law enforcement officers. An integrated strain sensor system that has a unique response to a specific (set of) human movement(s) has the potential to impact various musculoskeletal health tracking applications akin to the step counter's impact on physical activity tracking. It is determined that an open circuit state of a sensor can be used as such a unique response. With this consideration, a digital strain sensor (DigSS) that exhibits a binary (i.e., ON/OFF) response when a threshold strain level is exceeded is developed. Purpose – The clear patterns of bias and propaganda such as narrative framing and selective reporting are severely affecting the public opinion and policymakers. Overall, the study shows that media depiction of CPEC conditioned by the propagandistic model and 5GW strategies carries deep meanings for global politics. In addition, there is the necessity to increase media literacy and strategic communication so as to direct the complications of these projects. Transparency and international cooperation become important for regional stability as well as informed public discourse.

This project employs Roland Barthes' narrative codes as a framework for textual analysis to examine the underlying structures and meanings within song lyrics from two contrasting traditions of country music: mass-mediated Nashville country and Texas Red Dirt. With a sample spanning a five-year period, the study explores how narrative forms reflect broader socio-cultural dynamics and economic forces. Drawing upon the critical theory of the Frankfurt School, particularly the works of Theodor Adorno and Karl Marx, the project concentrates on the commodification of cultural products and implications for authenticity and truth in cultural expression. In the United States, cars contribute to a bevy of health problems, constituting a large cost to U.S. taxpayers who must subsidize the medical treatment that stems from them. This Note explores solutions to this health problem by attempting to minimize the number of cars in urban spaces. In particular, it looks at reworking statutory funding strategies for bicycle lanes, calls for using certain types of bicycle lanes that will lead to wider utilization, and advocates for rezoning urban areas to promote density.

This paper critically examines the blossoming integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within European asylum systems, demonstrating the interplay between operational efficiency and state obligations for human oversight. Case studies from Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy, where AI software, including DIAS (language recognition), Casematcher (filtered case comparisons), and S.I.N.D.A.C.A (speech-to-text transcription) reveals technology’s ability to streamline and enhance asylum processing.
