Reconstruction Of Cad Models Into Single Trimmed Surfaces, Rebecca Rasmussen

Classical methods by which computer-aided design (CAD) geometries are represented for both design and analysis involve meshing. However, the current process of converting a CAD model into an analysis-suitable surface mesh for the automotive industry takes a significant amount of time and labor, results in a faceted representation of the original smooth geometry, and generates representations that are prohibitively expensive for use in high-order explicit dynamics computations. This research focuses on accurately and efficiently rebuilding given CAD surfaces or meshes, such as shell-like components of automotive vehicles, into smooth, single trimmed spline surface approximations (rather than typical piecewise-linear approximations), making …

The Navier-Stokes equations are very important for explaining how fluids move, but they are not linear and often give answers that depend on the starting point and the boundaries. Food waste has accounted for 44% of the total amount of waste produced in Indonesia. From that total, fruits and vegetables waste constitute the main dominant contributors. Production of ecoenzyme has the potential to reduce the environmental waste problem and convert as well the waste into valuable products. This study was employed to characterize and evaluate the enzymatic activity of ecoenzymes produced from the fruit and vegetable waste. The fruits used to produce these ecoenzymes were pineapple, avocado, and orange, while the vegetables-ecoenzymes were generated from lettuce, Chinese cabbage, and broccoli. In this thesis, I argue that Miné Okubo's repeated self-portraiture in Citizen 13660 asserts her authority of the soul author of the text, forcing her reader to acknowledge the perspective in which the story is being told. Through the images of herself, she makes clear the fact that the story is filtered through her personal experience, rather than the widely accepted understanding that the novel is a universal story. While the written account strives for a sense of objectivity, the images of Okubo, especially when analyzed through the context of her contemporaries, including comics and photographers, shows how her work …

The landlord sought rent based on a concession rider, asserting the legal regulated rent was $1,472.41 and charging $1,522.41 for some months, despite a pattern of charging $1,300 through biannual credits. The court found that the concession functioned as a preferential rent under recent case law and DHCR guidance. Dopamine is thought of as the reward molecule of the brain, and while it does deal with reward, it is also associated with motivation and crucial for controlled movement. There are two main dopaminergic systems in the brain, the nigrostriatal system, which originates in the substantia nigra compacta and projects dopamine into the dorsal striatum; and the mesolimbic system, which originates in the ventral tegmental area and projects dopamine into the nucleus accumbens. While the mesolimbic dopamine system deals with motivation and reward, the nigrostriatal pathway underlies movement. Microglia are the immune cells of the brain and are incredibly dynamic. …

The landscape of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work is currently undergoing a critical evaluation and facing attacks, revealing the limitations of performative initiatives entrenched in colonial frameworks. These initiatives often fail to acknowledge and address the erasure of Indigenous and queer identities, alongside the need for genuine representation within institutional settings. This approach may lead to creating inclusivity shaped by colonial law rather than fostering the true inclusivity and belonging that communities seek.

This article explores the liberatory praxis and spaces of BlaQueer (Black & Queer) and Trans communities, focusing on educational settings that promote the rights and well-being of Black LGBTQ+ people and how these BlaQueer/Trans educational projects disrupt asymmetrical citizenship and violence. The analysis of BlaQueer/Trans educational projects, ranging from ballroom houses to community-based education programs, reveals core competencies that align with human rights education (HRE) and principles of ballroom culture. These include critical thinking and analysis of power structures and embodied resistance pedagogies that interrogate identity and unequal citizenship while building power to dismantle interlocking oppressive systems. Despite growing movements, queer youth find themselves in the spotlight of intense backlash. While anti-queer activism becomes increasingly visible, queer youth activists engage in worldmaking practices through their educational activism. This statement could well be considered a prism through which we might see her work. Indeed, the author depicts a variety of characters handling situations very differently – and readers are left dealing with their own sympathy with them. The goal of this article is to discuss Andrew Dominik’s much-criticized adaptation of Oates’ novel Blonde (2000), released on the Netflix streaming platform in September 2022. It aims at re-assessing the movie in the light of its literary hypotext, which appears to have been rather unfairly left out of much of the debate surrounding the release and critical reception of the film. This paper seeks to address the question of Oates’s relation to feminist and gender theories by looking at two novellas published consecutively, Beasts and Rape: A Love Story in the beginning of the 2000s. The short texts share a common storyline based on rape, which is far from uncommon in Oates’s fiction.
