The Effect Of Trade Openness, Financial Development, And Economic Progress On Pollution In Gulf Countries, Lamia Mohamed Jamel

Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Economics and Administration

This paper presents an empirical investigation into the causal relationship between economic growth (GDP), financial development, trade openness, and CO₂ emissions (environmental degradation) in seven Gulf economies from 1990 to 2022. The Ordinary Least Squares technique is employed to analyze panel data. The analysis utilizes the Cobb-Douglas production function to examine the causal link. The empirical results reveal a bidirectional Granger causal relationship between GDP and CO₂ emissions and trade openness and pollution in Gulf economies. The existence of the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis is confirmed through the causal link between GDP and environmental pollutants. Additionally, the neutrality …

Eight random copolyesters were compiled into a list. They were created by employing aromatic and aliphatic diacid chlorides in the polycondensation of chalcone diol. Terephthaloyl chloride was the aromatic diacid chloride that was employed, while adipoyl, oxalyl, glutaryl and succinyl chlorides were the other aliphatic diacid chlorides. The reaction of Claisen-Schmidt condensation in the acidic medium was applied for the synthesis of chalcone. This article surveys the four ELCs – Electronic Literature Collections (2006- 2022), reviews pedagogical approaches to teaching ELCs, and situates ELCs and electronic literature pedagogy into higher education’s course management systems. ELCs’ increasing accessibility serves its global audience and centers the ethical values of diversity, equality, and inclusion. The ELC4’s user experience design manifests these values. The article discusses the history of the Collections’ experience design. Volume Four (2022) expanded reader accessibility and linguistic diversity by including video playthroughs and collecting 132 works from 42 author nationalities in 31 languages. This article examines how interior spaces in the digital age have evolved into flexible, adaptive environments shaped by technological mediation and shifting everyday practices. Focusing on smart homes and home offices, this article introduces the concept of flex-spatiality to describe how these spaces continually reconfigure in response to changes in needs and digital interfaces. Grounded in Gregory Bateson’s (1972) theory of play and fantasy, the study explores how interior spatiality operates on two levels: as a locus for expressing identities and as a structure for organising social interaction. This study examines the spatial characteristics of rural houses in Çamlıhemşin from the perspective of ecosophy, Guattari's (2005) approach of emphasising the reciprocity and intertwining of social, mental, and environmental ecologies. After the World War II, Japan has been adopting a pacifist Constitution and established the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) for narrow self-defense operations. The JSDF are restricted from having offensive military weapons. However, Japan’s pacifism and restrained security policy have been evolving recently, especially during the term of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2012-2020). The latest example is Japan’s plan to enable forward defense and counterstrike. This paper explores the transformation of Japan’s military through the revolution of military affairs (RMA) concept. This study investigated whether Indonesian fundamentalist group utilizes marketing principles for recruitment. The research employed a Delphi method, gathering expert consensus from marketing, communication, and visual communication fields to assess the group's use of marketing strategies in attracting sympathizers and disseminating their ideology. The first round demonstrated complete agreement on the use of marketing principles. The 2.5 km long Gowanus Canal (Brooklyn, NY, USA) is a severely contaminated urban waterway dating from the mid-19th century, listed as a US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Superfund site since 2010. Applying an environmental forensics approach to the extensive USEPA data set, we detect systematic variations in parent PAH ring number distributions in the canal sediments, as well as an extraordinary enrichment in organic carbon. We subjected a supplemental sample set to a more detailed analysis by quantitative pyrolysis-GC-MS, Rock-Eval pyrolysis, and organic petrology. Interior design has traditionally prioritised human experiences, often neglecting ecological and nonhuman perspectives on interiority. This anthropocentric focus limits the discipline's ability to address the spatial and sensory needs of nonhuman persons, including teleost fishes. It overlooks interiority as a universal and relational phenomenon shared by all living beings. This research challenges these boundaries by proposing a biosemiotic framework that integrates the body, interiority, and inhabitation as interdependent constructs shaped by physiological, mental, and environmental interactions. Scholars are obsessed with the Roberts Court’s recent turn to history and tradition. But another source of authority has also emerged as an important feature of the Roberts Court’s approach to constitutional cases. In previous work, I have referred to this source of authority as popular meaning. While original meaning identifies the best reading of the Constitution’s text at the time of its ratification, popular meaning draws on sources of authority outside the courts to capture the constitutional views of the American people today.
