The 2015 Paris Agreement paved the way for the carbon trade economy, which has since evolved but has not attained a substantial magnitude. While carbon credit exchange is a critical mechanism for achieving global climate targets, it faces persistent challenges related to transparency, double-counting, and verification. This paper examines how Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) can address these limitations by providing immutable transaction records, automated verification through digitally encoded smart contracts, and increased market efficiency. In all areas of the globe, major powers have militaries and police forces that far exceed the capability of even the largest corporations. As corporations take an increasingly large role in outer space commerce it is likely that these private actors will develop a capacity to use force that quickly surpasses even the most powerful States.

In this holdover proceeding, the landlord sought possession of a RAD/PACT unit based on the tenant's alleged failure to provide access. The tenant moved to dismiss, arguing the landlord failed to serve the mandatory federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) notices with the predicate termination notice and petition. The landlord cross-moved to amend the affidavit of service but could not prove service of the VAWA notices with the termination notice. The court granted the tenant's motion, dismissing the petition without prejudice, holding that failure to serve the requisite VAWA notices mandates dismissal for covered housing providers.

Fault Morphology Along A Sinistral Active Fault Near A Continental Triple Junction: The Ilıca Segment At The Northern Termination Of The East Anatolian Fault Zone, Türkiye, Aynur Di̇kbaş, Hani̇fe Merve Önal

The East Anatolian fault zone (EAFZ) is an approximately 430 km long sinistral transform fault that bounds the southwestern margin of the Anatolian microplate between Karlıova (Bingöl) and Kahramanmaraş. It constitutes part of the Karlıova triple junction (KTJ) in eastern Anatolia. Near the KTJ, the Ilıca and Karlıova segments delineate the EAFZ. The Ilıca segment, approximately 38 km long, exhibits distinct fault-related geological structures, including linear valleys, elongated ridges, saddles, sag ponds, shutter ridges, thermal springs, and travertines. Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the salivary glands and increases the risk of developing dental diseases (DDs). Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) represent a promising alternative strategy for SS treatment; however, the association between CHMs and DD risk has not been confirmed. In this retrospective, cohort-based, nested case-control study, we explored whether or not combining CHMs with routine treatments for SS can reduce the chance of DDs.

Thirty-two coal and seven inorganic core samples from a newly discovered coalfield in the Yatağan region of the Muğla Basin were analysed to reconstruct the depositional palaeoenvironment. The coal has an average bed moisture of 34.60%, an ash yield of 33.73% (db), a volatile matter yield of 57.91% (daf), and a gross calorific value of 12.18 MJ/kg (maf). It is composed of mainly huminite macerals (up to 91 vol.%, on whole-rock basis), predominantly densinite, along small amounts of liptinite and inertinite macerals. The average random reflectance of huminite is 0.28%, and the primary minerals identified include pyrite, quartz, and clay …

Ciliated biobots (CiliaBots) are engineered tissues capable of self-actuated propulsion via exterior motile cilia. While correlations have been observed between CiliaBot motility and morphology, direct control of morphological features to deliver desired motility outcomes remains unexplored. Here, we describe the engineering of aggregated CiliaBots (AggreBots) to augment control over CiliaBot structural parameters and, consequently, motility patterns through guided, modular aggregation of human airway epithelial spheroids [referred to as CiliaBot building blocks (CBBs)]. BACKGROUND: Small bowel obstruction (SBO) accounts for 12-16% of surgical hospital admissions and can lead to complications such as bowel ischemia. Traditional management requires transporting patients to the Radiology Department (RD) for a fluoroscopic small bowel series, occupying resources and time. This study evaluates the efficacy and efficiency of the Small Bowel Challenge Exam, a bedside alternative.

This paper examines how citizens in India perceive and prioritise fundamental rights, with particular attention to the six freedoms under Article 19(1) and the property right. While the freedoms of Article 19(1) remain central to democratic citizenship, the Forty-Fourth Constitutional Amendment of 1978 reclassified the right to property as a constitutional right under Article 300A. This shift prompts an important question: Does the diminished constitutional rank of property correspond to its place in popular hierarchies of rights? Our in-depth interviews with 26 respondents, whose livelihoods make them especially sensitive to changes in both categories of rights, reveal that citizens continue …

The eROSITA instrument on board Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma (SRG) has completed four scans of the X-ray sky, leading to the detection of almost one million X-ray sources in eRASS1 alone, including multiple new X-ray binary candidates. We report on analysis of the X-ray binary 1eRASS J085039.9−421151, using a ∼55 ks long NuSTAR observation, following its detection in each eROSITA scan. An analysis of the eROSITA and NuSTAR X-ray spectra in combination with X-shooter data of the optical counterpart provide evidence of an X-ray binary with a red supergiant (RSG) companion, confirming previous results. In this article the authors apply Bishop’s (1990) windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors as an analytical framework that, along with critical literacy practices, can be used to enhance the social studies and literacy instruction. The stories we share in elementary classrooms teach students about their future possibilities. As teacher educators, we wondered about our students and our complacency with powerful ideas from foundational scholars in literacy and education.
