This study tackles a dual challenge in writing assessment: validating the reliability of a Large Language Model (LLM) as an automated evaluator and assessing the efficacy of a Narrative Structure Generator (NSG) in improving the structural quality of story outlines. Through a systematic methodology of prompt engineering and repeated evaluations, we first established a highly reliable automated assessment framework using Google Gemini 1.5 Pro. The framework demonstrated excellent inter- rater reliability (ICC) and internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha), successfully mitigating the model's inherent stochastic ity. This study explored how a future generation-centered perspective can be introduced into the field of design for policy by engaging in a practice-based project aimed at envisioning the year 2050 in a Japanese local municipality. The research team participated directly in the municipal visioning process and collaborated with local government staff, community leaders, and citizens to co-create a policy design process over a two-year period. As a result, we were able to articulate a sequence of design methodologies that center on future generations. This study investigates the role of 'ugly-cute' design in shaping young consumers' aesthetic preferences and purchase decisions, using plush toys as the research object. Grounded in Donald Norman's emotional design theory, it explores how unconventional visual features challenge traditional aesthetic norms while eliciting emotional resonance and supporting self-expression. In the highly competitive and homogeneous pure Internet banking sector, customer experience is pivotal for differentiation. Prior research remains limited to static analyses, failing to explain dynamic loyalty transitions. This study thus investigates how experience dimensions drive loyalty shifts in pure Internet banking and proposes segment-specific management strategies. Employing an explanatory sequential design (ESD) with LINE Bank (74.3% market share) as a case, we integrated quantitative structural equation modeling (SEM) of High-Medium, High-Low, and Medium-Low Net Promoter Score (NPS) groups (n = 370) with six in-depth interviews. This paper investigates how designers utilise the past as part of the design process which stands as an under explored facet of design practice. Drawing on in-depth interviews (n=11) with professionals from both design and memory institution contexts—galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM) that support design heritage in service of the public—we examine what aspects of the past designers engage with, including which pasts. This research study examines the notion of posthuman welfare in communication design, focusing on the affordances of assistive and interactive technologies recontextualised within more-than-human-centred frameworks. The study furthers the ongoing critique of anthropocentrism in design, highlighting the necessity of integrating nonhuman agency and emotive value into technology systems. Accidental Suffocation and Strangulation in Bed (ASSB), often caused by unsafe sleep positions such as prone sleeping, remains a leading cause of preventable infant death. While conventional baby monitors provide alerts, they cannot intervene pro actively. This paper introduces FloMat, an intelligent infant sleep safety system designed to autonomously correct dangerous sleep positions without disturbing the infant. The system integrates visual monitoring to detect mouth-nose occlusion and uses low-boiling-point liquid-to-gas phase- change actuators to reposition the infant without generating audible noise. This study proposes an ontological redefinition of empathy in design practice. Empathy has been conventionally framed as a cognitive means for understanding users, often through techniques such as observation and interviews. In contrast, this study reconceptualizes empathy as a mode of being that emerges within relationships—including those involving more-than-human entities such as nature and things. This study investigates the entrepreneurial trajectories of designer-entrepreneurs in Taiwan’s cultural and creative markets through a design research–based mixed methods approach. Framing entrepreneurship as a design process—an iterative practice of framing, making, and reflecting—the research constructs and validates a Seven-Stage Entrepreneurship Model grounded in quantitative and qualitative evidence. Data from 226 survey responses and 18 in-depth interviews reveal seven empirically derived stages: Seed, Trial, Product Development, Brand Formation, Operational Scale-up, Maturity, and Innovation & Transformation. With the normalization of Wicked problems in daily contexts, multidisciplinary collaboration is replacing traditional single-discipline approaches as the new pathway for addressing complex societal issues. Design disciplines, through design thinking and methodological toolkits, serve as cognitive binding agents within multidisciplinary teams, emerging as critical mechanisms for tackling such Wicked problem challenges. This study explores service design strategies for Culturally Embedded Marathons (CEMs), proposing a research perspective that integrates cultural memory formation mechanisms (symbol is ation, ritual is ation, and institutional is ation) to examine service design frameworks. Through a case study of the representative 2025 Kyoto Marathon, we identified 26 cultural touch points within its service design system. Using Python, we scraped and analysed 2,689 user-generated posts from social media platforms documenting the 2025 Kyoto Marathon, comprising 13,345 images. This paper examines the transformative impact of Sense of Agency (SoA) in human-intelligent agent collaboration, arguing that multi-agent AI systems fundamentally reconfigure agency dynamics beyond traditional tool metaphors. Through philosophical analysis (intentional agency), empirical case studies (e.g., AlphaGo, TikTok algorithms, DALL·E), and socio technical critique, we identify five pivotal consequences of multi-agent systems: (1) the emergence of human-like agency in AI, challenging boundaries of consciousness and moral treatment; (2) negotiation of agency, where humans perceive AI as competitors or collaborators; (3) synergetic co-evolution, evidenced by reciprocal capability enhancement in human-AI partnerships; (4) AI-driven cultural production of cognitively inaccessible creative combinations; …
