Fighting with Data examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping military decision making by changing both the speed of command and the structure of cognition within mission-command systems. Rather than treating AI as a tool that merely accelerates existing staff processes, this monograph recognizes AI redistributes cognitive labor across a network of people, data, tools, and operational processes. In this new environment, commanders and staffs spend less time assembling information and more time interpreting meaning, judging uncertainty, and deciding how to act.

As Indigenous scholars and activists have pointed out, the commercialization of Indigenous language data resembles the historical and ongoing dispossession of Indigenous land. Using Mayan languages as a case study, this article illustrates the process by which digital advertising platforms – Google and Meta – appropriate and benefit commercially from Indigenous language data, drawing parallels with the dispossession of Indigenous land. This article draws from a study conducted on pre-service teachers enrolled in a teacher education program. The study examines students’ understanding and misunderstanding of what constitutes culturally responsive teaching. This is a mixed methods study. A Likert-type survey and qualitative questionnaires were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze survey data, and a thematic coding method was used for analysis of qualitative data. This study systematically reviews the literature on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among Hispanic immigrants in the United States, a population exposed to cumulative trauma across the migration process. Stressors may occur before, during, and after migration and include violence, family separation, dangerous travel conditions, discrimination, and fear of deportation. Despite these risks, findings on PTSD prevalence remain mixed, and Hispanic immigrants are underrepresented in clinical research and culturally informed interventions. Excavations conducted over the past several decades in the environs of Jerusalem uncovered several rural sites dating to the Crusader period, most likely settled by Frankish inhabitants. At two of these sites, remains of installations identified as chimneys were integrated into the walls of the buildings—an innovation in the rural architecture of the Land of Israel, probably introduced by Frankish settlers originating from Western Europe. This article presents the different types of chimneys exposed at the sites of Khirbat el-Kurum and Wadi el-Ḥaramiya. This article examines four gold ornaments and three bronze earrings dated to the late third–early second centuries BCE, retrieved from Building 110 in the Givʽati Parking Lot (GPL) excavations in Jerusalem. Based on their intact state, intrinsic value and similar contexts, we propose that the artifacts were intentionally deposited in or below the building’s floors on different occasions. Technological and stylistic analyses connect the jewelry to broader Hellenistic polychrome traditions, and the exceptionally small rings suggest that they probably belonged to young children, most likely girls. This paper examines an often-overlooked sector of households: children. The paper first presents the importance of children within the framework of the household and society, pointing out significant references from textual sources and imagery, such as orthostats. Then, a set of artifacts identified in the archaeological record is presented, which may be defined as spinning toys, comprising two components: a string and a perforated object. The conclusions discuss the way these toys reflect on the importance of children in society.

From rural farmsteads to urban environments, the excavation of domestic contexts in the Southern Levant provides a rich dataset for investigating how households structured quotidian activities, social interactions, and meanings through spatial organization. This article examines how the material culture of Iron Age dwellings can aid in reconstructing patterns of behavior, social organization and ideologies pertaining to women. This study investigates a domestic complex discovered in the Early Iron Age IIA stratum of Tel Burna in the southern Shephelah. The complex consists of a two-story structure with an adjacent courtyard, each fulfilling distinct domestic roles. Preserved within a destruction layer, this context revealed a substantial assemblage of architectural features and installations, ceramic vessels, botanical remains and tools. These findings provide significant insights into two primary areas: the household economy and daily life in Early Iron IIA, and the settlement dynamics of the Shephelah during a formative period of sociopolitical transformation.

This autobiographical inquiry examines the lived experience of a teacher–researcher navigating curriculum reform within a centralized education system during her first year at a Seoul Future Innovation School. The study explores how policy ideals of curriculum autonomy, innovation, and student-centered learning encounter institutional realities of documentation, compliance, and performative accountability.
