Are Teachers Really Different? The Moral Intuitions Of Elementary And Secondary Preservice Teachers, Austin M. Hitt, Richard H. Costner

In a previous study the authors used the Six Factor Personality Questionnaire (SFPQ) to uncover putative personality differences between elementary and secondary preservice teachers. The key result of the study was that no significant differences between the two groups of preservice teachers were identified. For the present study the authors examined another psychological construct, moral intuition. Preservice elementary and secondary teachers completed the Moral Foundations Questionnaire (MFQ), which is designed to uncover the moral intuitions or heuristics that people use to resolve moral dilemmas. Peer-victimization/bullying (PVB) is a common adverse childhood experience associated with significant psychosocial consequences including mental health concerns (e.g., internalizing problems, anxiety, depression), behavioral problems, and poorer academic outcomes. Although existing research has established that parental social support serves as a protective factor for victimized children, little research has explored how parents provide support over time, how their internal experiences shape their provision of support, and how parents make decisions about the support they are delivering. Background: Venous ulcers account for 60–70% of all leg ulcers. They are irregular ulcers with sloping edges mainly seen above the medial malleolus associated with oedema, lipodermatosclerosis and hemosiderosis. Conventional medicine mentions chronic venous ulcers as a surgical disease. It usually results in further co-morbidities and reduces the patient's quality of life. Homoeopathic literature describes many medicines for the treatment of varicose ulcers. This case series demonstrates the role of homoeopathic treatment in the complete healing of venous ulcers non-invasively. Introduction: Manic episode (ICD-F30.2) is typically characterised by distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive, or irritable mood, along with abnormally and persistently increased goal-directed activity or energy, lasting at least 1 week and causing significant disruption in occupational and social functioning. The lifetime risk of experiencing manic episodes is approximately 0.8–1%. These episodes typically recur in three to four-month cycles. This case report aims to highlight significance of individualised homoeopathic treatment in managing mania with psychotic symptoms over a 41-month period without relapse, and without the use of conventional medication. Hybrid neural networks (HNNs), which integrate classical convolutional neural networks with quantum circuit components, are highly vulnerable to white-box targeted compound (WTC) adversarial attacks. Previous research has primarily evaluated defenses against single-method attacks, leaving a critical gap in understanding defense effectiveness against compound attacks that combine multiple perturbation strategies. This research study systematically evaluates defense mechanisms against WTC adversarial attacks on HNN models across 120 experimental conditions. Three defense categories are investigated: test-time defenses (input transformation and randomization, applied during inference without retraining) and training-time defense (adversarial training, requiring model retraining). For this project our team expanded our search for inauthentic actors to new locations, specifically Bluesky. With the help of internet watchdogs Antibot4Navalny and dTeam, we began investigating a network known as “Matryoshka”1, aka “Operation Overload”2, aka “Storm-1679.”3 We discovered the network was stealing the identities of moderately known people of influence ranging from political candidates to university staff members. Because Twitter/X users had not created versions of themselves on Bluesky, due to its relatively new arrival on the social media scene, their identities were ripe for the taking by nefarious actors. Self-awareness in conscious organisms remains an enduring puzzle for philosophers and neuroscientists. This paper proposes a tripartite evolutionary model tracing its emergence through three sequential types: the sensory self (primitive egocentric, valence-tagged awareness of sensory states), the bodily self (external objectification of the body as a distinct entity, evidenced by mirror self-recognition in select species), and the cognitive self (internal objectification of the mind enabling recursive self-transformation). Adopting a monist framework, the model treats consciousness as the biological substrate of delayed neural apperception (the “Delayed Present”), within which selves emerge as increasingly sophisticated models. Consistent with national trends, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is transitioning to the globally recognised Stock Synthesis (SS) platform to support more robust, transparent, and internationally aligned assessments. To ensure this transition remains scientifically sound, DPIRD commissioned an independent expert review in 2025, following a previous review in 2024. The 2025 review was conducted by Professor André Punt and focused on integrated models for three key WA fish stocks: red emperor in the Kimberley, WA dhufish in the southern West Coast Bioregion, and sandbar shark at the statewide level. Implementing A Problem-Solving Framework In Physics Tutorials For Upper-Division Electricity And Magnetism Students, James C. Hecht

We study the effects of implementing a problem-solving framework in tutorials intended for use in upper-division electricity and magnetism courses. These tutorials were integrated into an electricity and magnetism course in Fall 2024, and were compared alongside a set of tutorials on the same topics which did not include the problem-solving framework. We performed a mixed-methods analysis on exam scores, interviews, and survey responses from students who were in the class. Students seem to prefer the tutorials that implement the problem-solving framework, and these tutorials seem to assist students with conceptual understanding somewhat; however, the qualitative data on conceptual understanding …

In this nuisance/breach of lease holdover proceeding, the tenant moved to compel the landlord to substantively respond to a demand for a bill of particulars. The court found the landlord's initial responses "boilerplate and evasive" and insufficient. The court granted the tenant's motion, ordering the landlord to supplement the bill of particulars by a specific date. A conditional and self-executing preclusion order was issued, which will prevent the landlord from entering the requested particulars into evidence if they fail to comply fully and timely, thereby limiting their ability to prove their prima facie case.

The landlord commenced a holdover proceeding against the tenant, alleging illegal residential occupancy of a former medical office due to uncorrectable building code violations concerning courtyard dimensions affecting natural light requirements. The court granted the landlord a final judgment of possession, finding the unit could not be legalized. However, the court also awarded the tenant treble damages for rent overcharge, holding that a commercial unit used residentially can be rent-stabilized. Field-effect transistor (FET) biosensors using graphene have become one of the most promising biosensing platforms for the early diagnosis of diseases with features such as high sensitivity, label-free detection and application compatibility with point-of-care systems. Herein, we critically discuss recent advances in graphene FET (GFET) biosensor development toward clinically relevant biomarkers associated with representative diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative disease, infectious disease, and inflammatory conditions. BACKGROUND: Gender-based violence (GBV) remains one of the most pervasive human rights and public health challenges worldwide, with disproportionate impacts on women and girls in conflict-affected and fragile states. Afghanistan represents one of the most restrictive environments for women's rights, where structural, cultural, and political barriers severely limit the implementation and evaluation of GBV-prevention programs. BACKGROUND: High-volume endurance training may shift exercise from cardioprotective to arrhythmogenic, increasing the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) in healthy athletes.

CASE SUMMARY: A 38-year-old marathon runner with a 15-year history of high-intensity endurance training presented with episodic palpitations and reduced athletic performance. Electrocardiogram showed paroxysmal AF; echocardiography revealed mild left atrial enlargement without structural heart disease. Symptoms worsened during the recovery phase after runs, suggesting vagally mediated AF. After unsuccessful flecainide therapy, he underwent pulmonary vein isolation. Twelve months later, he remained free of recurrent AF on Holter monitoring and successfully resumed endurance training following an 8-week recovery period. …
