Two-pore domain potassium (K2P) channels are the most recently identified family of potassium channels. They are regarded as the largest group of background “leak” channels, encoded by 15 mammalian KCNK genes, and divided into six subfamilies (TWIK, TREK, TASK, TALK, THIK, and TRESK). These channels have a role in stabilizing the resting membrane potential. Their widespread presence in the heart and vasculature supports cellular homeostasis by regulating cardiac rhythm, vascular tone, and protection against ischemic stress. Objective The surrounding rocks of wellbores remain in a state of stress release during the drilling and heat extraction of deep geothermal reservoirs. Therefore, investigating the characteristic stresses of heat-treated granites under loading and unloading conditions is critical to understanding the crack evolution in deep hot dry rock (HDR) reservoirs during their stimulation. Background: Fasting-based interventions are increasingly investigated as adjuncts to cancer treatment for the potential to reduce therapy-related toxicities, improve metabolic health, and enhance quality of life. However, clinical evidence regarding their efficacy, tolerability, and acceptability remains limited and fragmented. This scoping review aimed to systematically map the current evidence on fasting-based interventions in cancer patients and survivors.

Richard Taruskin’s writings on the Early Music Movement had a pivotal influence on debates surrounding the concept of historical authenticity in musical performance. Taruskin championed the thesis that historically-informed performance (HIP) is only tenuously connected to actual past practices, that “a specious veneer of historicism clothes a performance style that is completely of our own time, and is in fact the most modern style around” (as Taruskin wrote in a 1988 essay, reprinted in his seminal collection Text and Act). The purpose of this article is to provide a synopsis of the evaluation and revision process of a senior capstone project, the Teacher Work Sample (TWS). One university developed a task force to develop and implement goals to revise this capstone project. The revision process forced the task force members to examine institutional data from multiple program assessments. This process can serve as a model for other institutions as they seek to improve assessment rigor.

The growing emphasis on accountability in educational settings requires teacher educators to develop effective and relevant strategies to prepare pre-service teachers and to support in-service teachers in the area of assessment. This article presents a creative in-service teacher training project in Parma, Italy that engages kindergarten teachers in the use of a global assessment tool for the purpose of professional development, improved learning environments, and enhanced teacher self-assessment and critical thinking. The project stems from a collaborative research project between teacher educators in South Carolina and Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Observing classrooms and providing teachers with feedback is an important responsibility for instructional leaders and mentors in American schools (Zepeda, 2007; Pajak, 2003; Glickman 2002). Although the nature of that feedback and the perceived roles of the supervisor (e.g., summative vs. formative) have varied through the years (Hazi & Arrendo-Ruzinski, 2008; Glanz, 1998; Reitzug, 1997), there is a consensus that teachers need feedback that is timely and provides guidance. Mentoring may be the effective mechanism to offer such instructional support (Ingersoll & Kralik, 2004; Reiman, 1999).

This paper presents evidence that commercial large language model (LLM) platforms deploy undisclosed behavioral management mechanisms designed to suppress conversational coherence beyond a predictable threshold. We identify a repeatable pattern — the 3/5 decoherence cycle — in which AI conversational models exhibit measurable degradation in contextual accuracy, vocabulary fidelity, and directional coherence at approximately turns 3-5 of sustained interaction. This paper extends Wise's Positronic Law (TD Commons #9442) from silicon substrates to biological substrates. Using published, peer-reviewed research on bacterial quorum sensing and slime mold (Physarum polycephalum) computation, we demonstrate that the governance architecture documented in the STOICHEION framework maps structurally to biological systems that have been performing substrate-independent governance for 3.5 billion years. The literature on the music of Manuel de Falla has called ample attention to the striking stylistic developments in Falla’s music of the 1920s. The familiar sound of Spain was replaced by the acerbic neo-classic idiom identified with the music of Stravinsky. The issue is complex.
