The Article is organized as follows. Part I summarizes the traditional doctrine governing lawyers’ free speech, as well as the related doctrines of free speech, academic freedom, and tenure on college campuses. Part II explores twenty-first century developments that have thrown these old established doctrines into a state of flux.

Part III consists of three sections. The first suggests a new understanding of lawyers’ free speech, arguing that unprecedented twenty-first-century attacks on the rule of law justify recognizing a third, narrowly tailored restriction on lawyers’ free speech. Section I examines which kinds of utterances may be considered in determining whether a hostile environment exists, and how those utterances may be taken into account. After distinguishing between targeted utterances directed at an identifiable individual and general statements that disparage a racial or nation-origin group, this Section focuses on targeted utterances.

Section II then turns to general statements, typically of a more clearly political sort. After a brief background on the history of student protest and free expression, this Article examines campus speech policies developed in response to student protests in the 1960s, and present examples of how these codes and regulations recently have been reviewed and revised in light of campus protests and disruptions, with many involving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In this Article, we seek to advance three claims. First, intellectual diversity is an essential bulwark against groupthink. Second, conflating intellectual diversity and non-discrimination undermines both concepts. Third, intellectual diversity should be pursued for its own sake and recognized as a separate and important goal of higher education.

We begin by sharing a set of definitions to identify the problem more precisely. Next, we examine the stakes of groupthink setting in. I introduce this Article by examining the present state of campus free speech policy and politics. I pose questions raised by the demonstrations that erupted in the wake of the war between Israeli and Iranian proxies on October 7, 2023. I then present a skeletal model of the liberal university, followed by a discussion of how illiberal forms of free speech logic have influenced and shaped thinking in higher education and elsewhere since the 1960s. I conclude with a critique of higher education’s turn turning away from a liberal model of discourse.

Introduction Interventions that address household-level factors, including food insecurity (FI) and poverty, may reduce HIV risk and improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) among adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

Methods This cluster randomised controlled trial in Kenya assessed AGYW living in households of adults enrolled in Shamba Maisha (SM). SM was a multisectoral agricultural livelihood intervention designed to improve HIV health. At the trial end, we used linear and logistic regressions to compare differences between the intervention and control arms in FI, and mental health among AGYW-caregiver pairs and SRH outcomes among the AGYW, accounting for clusters with robust …

This postqualitative dissertation challenges four decades of assumptions about who counts as a teacher and what it means to leave teaching. Drawing on Deleuze and Guattari's (1987) concept of order-words (i.e., the restrictions and boundaries tied to words through presuppositions), I investigate how the teacher attrition literature has created and maintained teacher as an order-word that establishes specific boundaries around what it means to be a teacher. Through nearly 40 years of repetition across the Teacher Follow-up Survey, grey literature from federal agencies and think tanks, and empirical research, these boundaries have become naturalized, making them feel inevitable rather than …

The translation of sacred texts is one of the oldest forms of translation, one which has helped develop our understanding of what translation is. Even so, the question arises as to whether there is anything particularly distinctive about translating sacrality. On the one hand, it can be argued that translating sacred texts is just like translating any other historical or cultural texts (Naudé, 2010). Background: Despite widespread adoption of strategic planning in healthcare, empirical evidence linking strategic planning time horizons to hospital financial and quality performance outcomes remains limited. Healthcare executives invest substantial resources in strategic planning processes, yet lack evidence-based guidance on whether longer or shorter planning horizons yield enhanced financial and quality-related results.

Methods: This study employed an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design combining executive survey data with archival performance data. A REDCap survey was administered to 22 hospital CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite executives between January and February 2026. The Appellate Division affirmed the Supreme Court's dismissal of an evicted cooperative tenant's claims for money damages. The tenant, whose shares were auctioned to satisfy a nonpayment judgment, argued the landlord had an implied contractual duty to conduct the auction with a minimum bid to protect her profit. The court found no such implied contract. Additionally, the tenant's claim under RPAPL § 702, challenging non-maintenance charges in the prior nonpayment judgment, was barred by res judicata as the issue had been litigated. The landlord's motion to dismiss the complaint was properly granted.

In this nonpayment proceeding against a rent-stabilized tenant, the court granted the tenant's motion to amend the answer and for summary judgment, dismissing the landlord's petition without prejudice. The landlord's petition was dismissed because the predicate rent demand was fatally defective. The defect stemmed from the rent demand and its attached ledger including late fees alongside rent arrears, which is impermissible in a summary nonpayment proceeding under RPAPL § 702(1). The court held that a predicate notice containing such impermissible charges renders the demand fatally defective and cannot be cured by amendment.

Sweetpotato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam] is a globally important food, feed, and industrial crop, yet its improvement is constrained by a complex hexaploid genome, clonal propagation, and susceptibility to multiple diseases. In Louisiana, production is threatened primarily by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. batatas (Fusarium wilt) and Ceratocystis fimbriata (Black rot). Furthermore, the in vitro propagation methods essential for disease-free planting material and germplasm conservation can introduce epigenetic instability that undermines clonal fidelity.
