Understanding The Forest School Experience: A Conceptual Exploration Of Benefits And Barriers, Ziad F. Dabaja
Journal of Educational and Psychological Studies
Forest School, a form of outdoor nature-based education, has increasingly gained international attention, particularly, its educational and developmental benefits are well documented. While existing literature highlights positive outcomes for children, families, and educators, it also identifies a range of challenges that can hinder effective implementation. This paper adopts a conceptual study design and synthesizes findings from three peer-reviewed literature reviews, collectively examining 40 international studies, to develop an integrative concept map of the Forest School experience. Using a thematic synthesis, evidence from the reviewed studies was analyzed to identify overlapping and complementary themes, which were categorized into benefits, implementation challenges, …

Hubungan Rencana Karir Dan Keberhasilan Studi Mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman Universitas Negeri Malang, Andi Burhanudin S., Primardiana Hermilia Wijayati
Journal of Language, Literature, and Arts
This study aimed to examine the relationship between career planning and academic success among undergraduate students in the German Language Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Malang. A quantitative correlational design was employed. From a population of 335 students, a total of 126 respondents who met the research criteria and completed the questionnaire were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, and Spearman’s rank-order correlation (ρ). The results revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between career planning and academic success (ρ = .527, p < .001). Students who demonstrated more active career exploration, greater self-understanding, clearer career goals, and better utilization of academic and social support tended to achieve higher academic performance, as reflected in a cumulative grade point average (GPA) above 3.00. Nevertheless, the findings also indicate that students’ career readiness still requires further development. This is reflected in their predominant use of general job-search platforms and the relatively limited participation in career development activities. Therefore, higher education institutions should strengthen career guidance services by providing more systematic career information, expanding access to career development programs, and integrating career services into the academic learning process to better prepare students for the labor market.

College of Population Health Faculty Papers
BACKGROUND: Low enrollment and retention in clinical research disproportionately impact Black, Hispanic or Latinx, women, and rural populations, undermining generalizability and perpetuating health disparities. However, few studies have compared mechanisms driving underrepresentation across populations. Freelisting is a qualitative methodology that elicits lists of terms, explores perspectives about domains, and identifies common themes within groups with shared characteristics; however, it has not been systematically applied to understand research participation across underrepresented populations.
OBJECTIVE: To explore perspectives on clinical research participation across underrepresented populations using freelisting methodology to ultimately inform culturally-responsive recruitment strategies.
METHODS: We conducted a web-based freelisting survey among adults …
Systems And Methods For Asymmetric Propagation Constraints With Partitioned Memory Architecture In Collaborative Recommendation, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Techniques are described for collaborative recommendation that constrain cross-user propagation of user-derived signals using asymmetric, type-dependent rules. A signal classification layer assigns each generated insight to a psychological signal type including positive preference, negative preference, behavioral pattern, and vulnerability indicator. An asymmetric propagation engine applies type-specific parameters such as hop depth, evidence thresholds, confidence discounting, and temporal decay, including higher friction for negative, behavioral, and vulnerability-related signals than for positive preferences. Negative preference propagation is constrained to a demotion-only effect in ranking, reducing scores without excluding candidates. A partitioned memory architecture stores ranking-accessible preferences in a first partition and stores …

Partitioned User Profile Architecture With Differentiated Access Control For Recommendation Systems, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Techniques are described for partitioning user profiles in agentic recommendation systems into a preference partition and a behavioral vulnerability partition with differentiated access control. A ranking agent retrieves only the preference partition to rank candidate content items, while a separate well-being monitoring system retrieves only the behavioral partition to compute a vulnerability-related measure and determine interventions. The well-being monitoring system transmits serving constraints to the ranking agent via a one-way constraint interface that excludes behavioral vulnerability indicators, such that delivery behavior may be adjusted (e.g., pacing, breaks, item limits, resource surfacing) without exposing behavioral vulnerability data to the ranking objective. …

Psychological Reasoning Validation For Agentic Recommendation Systems, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A validation layer for agentic recommendation systems validates psychological reasoning used by an LLM-based recommendation agent. A non-LLM behavioral ground truth estimator computes psychological-state estimates from behavioral signals with confidence values. A non-LLM reasoning extractor parses agent reasoning traces into structured psychological-state claims. Claims are compared to ground truth subject to confidence thresholds to compute per-state reasoning-quality metrics including precision, recall, and hallucination rate, optionally at granularities such as per topic, per user segment, and per prompt version. A hallucination detection pipeline may apply tiered responses including logging, soft override via ground truth injection, and hard override for safety-relevant actions. …
Position-Dependent Psychological Risk Management For Recommendation Ranking, Anonymous
Position-Dependent Psychological Risk Management For Recommendation Ranking, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A recommendation system constructs a ranked slate using position-dependent psychological risk management. The system partitions slate positions into contiguous zones including a Trust zone, an Engagement zone, and a Discovery zone, with zone boundaries adapted per user based on a user trust score and optionally cognitive mode or session progress. A base ranking model produces base value scores and an uncertainty measure. For each target position, the system computes a position-modified score by applying a zone-specific risk tolerance function conditioned on user state. In the Trust zone, items are penalized as a function of prediction uncertainty scaled by user distrust; …

Findings indicate that luxury goods are seen not only as tools for status maintenance but also as avenues for …
Social Exclusion Cues And Collective Action Motivation In Environmental Campaigns: The Buffering Role Of Social Support, Hwan-Ho Noh, Warren B. Chik
Social Exclusion Cues And Collective Action Motivation In Environmental Campaigns: The Buffering Role Of Social Support, Hwan-Ho Noh, Warren B. Chik
Asia Marketing Journal
This study examines the influence of social exclusion cues on public engagement with environmental campaigns on social media, focusing on how such cues affect advertising attitudes and collective action motivation. Across two experimental studies, we investigated whether low engagement metrics, such as a small number of likes, function as symbolic exclusion cues that reduce perceived public support. The results indicate that social exclusion cues negatively affect advertising attitudes and collective action motivation, ultimately decreasing the intention to engage with the campaign. However, the presence of social support cues, which signal sustained public interest and social endorsement, effectively mitigated these negative …
The Price Of Expectation: How Luxury Consumers React To Quality Crises, Jeong Ah Yoo, Daye Hong, Yoon Hi Sung
The Price Of Expectation: How Luxury Consumers React To Quality Crises, Jeong Ah Yoo, Daye Hong, Yoon Hi Sung
Asia Marketing Journal
This study investigated the mechanisms underlying consumer responses to quality crises in luxury brands and examined how these responses differ depending on consumers' prior luxury brand purchase experience. The findings indicated that stronger price-quality inferences led to elevated product quality expectations. Further, when consumers encountered information regarding quality controversies, their heightened expectations produced greater perceived discrepancies, which subsequently had a negative impact on brand attitudes. Additionally, this study found that the negative impacts of perceived discrepancies on brand attitudes, purchase intentions for other products of the brand, and forgiveness intentions were more pronounced among luxury than among non-luxury consumers. Finally, …
Can Ai-Generated Ads With Future Predictions Drive Higher Donations Than Human-Created Ads?, Chaewon Song, Sujin Song
Can Ai-Generated Ads With Future Predictions Drive Higher Donations Than Human-Created Ads?, Chaewon Song, Sujin Song
Asia Marketing Journal
The use of AI in generating ads offers benefits for NPOs, such as enhanced cost efficiency and personalized content. However, consumers often exhibit algorithm aversion when AI performs subjective tasks, like ad creation. According to mind perception theory, AI is seen as high in agency but low in experience. Given this, we hypothesized that including future predictions in AI-generated ads would mitigate this aversion. Across four studies, we found that AI-generated donation ads were generally perceived as less credible and elicited lower donation intentions than human-created ones. Crucially, when future predictions were included, the credibility and donation gap between AI …

From Emotions To Impulse: A Serial Mediation Approach In Tiktok Live Commerce, Amrul Asraf Mohd-Any, Moniruzzaman Sarker, Shaoxuan Lu
Asia Marketing Journal
Based on social exchange theory, this study investigates how interactions between influencers and followers during live streaming impact impulse buying behaviour. It explores how perceived influencer traits, namely authenticity, expertise, attractiveness, and homophily, influence trust, emotional attachment, and para-social interaction, which in turn drive impulsive purchases. Using PLS-SEM technique, a survey of 303 Chinese TikTok users reveals that emotional factors, particularly para-social interaction and attachment, have a stronger effect on impulse buying than trust. Authenticity and homophily emerge as essential in fostering emotional engagement, emphasising the importance of relatability over authority. The findings suggest that successful influencer marketing in live …

The Coming Use And Misuse Of Artificial Intelligence In The Courtroom: A Judicial Perspective And Proposal, William Matthewman
The Coming Use And Misuse Of Artificial Intelligence In The Courtroom: A Judicial Perspective And Proposal, William Matthewman
Journal of Technology Law & Policy
While attorneys, litigants, and judges have always had to be vigilant for the attempted introduction of improperly enhanced or fabricated evidence in court proceedings, the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its subset, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), has substantially increased the stakes. The task of identifying and exposing such fake or improperly enhanced AI evidence has become significantly more challenging. The current Federal Rules of Evidence and the Federal Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure are insufficient to effectively address the coming advance of AI-generated or AI-enhanced evidence. The rules must be amended, in certain respects, to provide attorneys, litigants, …
Exploring Early Career Public General Education K–6 Teachers’ Experiences With Their Training For Teaching Special Education Students In Inclusive Classrooms, Alexandra E. Ray
Exploring Early Career Public General Education K–6 Teachers’ Experiences With Their Training For Teaching Special Education Students In Inclusive Classrooms, Alexandra E. Ray
Doctor of Education Program Dissertations
Although Canada is often regarded as a leader in inclusive education, reports note that many students’ needs remain unmet and inclusion is typically implemented by placing students in mainstream classrooms with individualized accommodations. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of seven early career K–6 public general education teachers in Ontario (1–4 years of practice) as they engaged in inclusive education and prepared to teach students with special needs. Participants reported that teacher preparation coursework presented inclusive models only superficially, professional development was fragmented and insufficient prompting self-directed learning and structural constraints in schools limited individualized support. Teachers described …
Teaching A Stand-Alone Course On Burney, Lorna J. Clark
Teaching A Stand-Alone Course On Burney, Lorna J. Clark
ABO: Interactive Journal for Women in the Arts, 1640–1830
This essay outlines a stand-alone course on Frances Burney, suggesting that she offers a good entry point into eighteenth-century studies. Given that she wrote in so many genres—novels, plays, journals, and letters—such a course avoids the narrowness which often marks a single author course. In twelve weeks, the course studied ten works: four novels, five plays (three comedies and two tragedies) and a selection of journals and letters. The latter describes well-known figures in Burney’s social and literary networks in eighteenth-century London and leads to discussion of techniques of the epistolary, of diary-writing and of women’s life-writing. Burney’s novels are …

Reading Burney’S Mastectomy Letter: Presentist Thinking And Personal Responses In The Classroom, Heather Meek
ABO: Interactive Journal for Women in the Arts, 1640–1830
Frances Burney’s mastectomy letter, in its graphic and detailed depiction of the operation she underwent without anesthetic in 1811, does not always lend itself immediately to standard, scholarly classroom discussion. It tends, rather, to incite unusually intimate responses, as well as conversations about medicine and health today. In my teaching of the letter in literature courses at Université de Montréal over the course of the past 13 years, I have found that students are inclined to seize upon the subject of breast cancer as especially contemporary in its relevance and to share their own anecdotal knowledge of the disease. I …

The Wanderers: Teaching The Literature Of Migration And Exile, Linda Zionkowski
ABO: Interactive Journal for Women in the Arts, 1640–1830
In our current global landscape, exile—or forced, often permanent migration—appears a central rather than tangential experience, being driven by armed conflict, environmental destruction, economic collapse, and political repression. The climate on many university campuses reflects students’ awareness of and concern for the situation of displaced populations, and this awareness has influenced political discourse and political action inside and outside the classroom. My course titled “The Wanderers: Teaching the Literature of Migration and Exile” begins with Frances Burney’s narration of exilic experiences in her life writings and The Wanderer. Burney’s texts offer a conceptual foundation for exploring instances of physical …
