Examination Of A One-Trial Multiple Stimulus Preference Assessment, Gianna M. Davino Aug 2025

Examination Of A One-Trial Multiple Stimulus Preference Assessment, Gianna M. Davino

Doctoral Dissertations - College of Arts and Sciences

There are several preference assessment formats that effectively determine reinforcers; however, educators and clinicians working with individuals with autism and other disabilities note that lack of time is a main barrier to frequently assessing client preference in applied settings (Graff & Karsten, 2012). Research has evaluated briefer methods of assessment (DeLeon & Iwata, 1996; DeLeon et al., 2001; Mason et al., 1989) to determine reinforcers. DeLeon et al. (2001) compared the high-preference stimulus determined in a paired-stimulus preference assessment to the stimulus selected in a brief daily multiple-stimulus without replacement preference assessment; they found that the stimulus identified in the …

Opportunities For Using Generative Ai For Malevolent Creativity Information Gathering And Idea Generation, Alexis D'Amato, Emma Theobald, Ares Boira-Lopez, Joel Elson, Samuel Hunter

Reports, Projects, and Research

The success of terrorist and extremist organizations is dependent on their ability to be creative and innovative (e.g., Gill et al., 2013; Ligon et al., 2018; Logan et al., 2020). That is, these organizations are inherently focused on causing harm to their targets in ways that are novel, thus undetectable from threat assessment efforts. Homeland Security Enterprise can establish novel countermeasures to mitigate threats by engaging in the same creative problem-solving process as the terrorist and extremist organizations (e.g., d’Amato & Hunter, 2023). One way to do this is by using the same tools nefarious actors engage with for idea …

Staff Education On The Abbreviated Teachers’ Rating Scale (Atrs) Tool As A Screening Tool For Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Adhd)., Tena E. Currie

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

This doctoral project is a staff education program to enhance the treatment and diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at a mental healthcare facility. The identified practice problem was the lack of knowledge about the Abbreviated Teacher Rating Scale (ATRS) used in ADHD testing, which may result in inaccuracies and underutilization of the tool. To bridge this gap is essential in nursing practice as clinicians should be competent in performing standard assessment, which is indispensable for patient with ADHD. Staff education with the ATRS was the practice-directed question for the project: Does staff education with the ATRS increase knowledge for …

Perceptions Of Divine Intervention In Suffering Impact On Meaningful Work Mediated By Posttraumatic Growth, Thomas E. Weil Jr.

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

Burnout is a costly phenomenon, and creating a comprehensive model of wellness to increase resiliency to burnout is a complex task worth the endeavor (Eckleberry-Hunt et al., 2009). The negative correlation between self-care and burnout is well-known (Shanafelt et al., 2020). Models such as the psychological capital model (Youssef‐Morgan & Luthans, 2015) have provided insight into the relationship. Several findings since the inception of the psychological capital model indicate that other phenomena are involved in increasing resistance to counselor burnout. The positive relationship between meaningful work and counselor burnout resistance is well documented through peer-reviewed literature. Mental health professionals experience …
