The Management Of Change: A Case Study, Stephen A. Raper, Richard Neal Callahan
Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works
A literature review was conducted to identify some of the requirements for competitiveness and change that are being promoted by leaders in the manufacturing field. A survey was developed based on the literature review and was subsequently administered, via the case study method, at a midwestern US agricultural chemicals firm to determine the company's degree of compliance with the literature''s recommendations. To a large degree, the company complied with the requirements.

The Role of the Facilitator in Computer-supported Environments
This multiphased study represents a rigorous exploration of the role of the facilitator in computer-supported environments. The purpose of the study was to identify and empirically measure the importance of the critical dimensions of the facilitator's role. The study examined the following research questions:
1) What are the critical dimensions and their related behaviors that contribute to the role of the effective facilitator in face-to-face computer supported environments?
2) Are there impacts on or differences in critical facilitator role dimensions/behaviors when facilitating with different types of group support systems (GSS) (computer based …

The Development And Implementation Of Tech Prep Courses Designed To Reduce The Gap Between The Dual Standards Of The High School Curriculum Of The Mansfield City Schools, Michael L. Cline
Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive
This project describes the process used to implement a technical preparation (tech-prep) curriculum into the high school course offerings of a small city school district in Ohio. The tech-prep curriculum was designed to give students, especially those who were not college bound, stronger academic skills by requiring students to relate such skills to real-life employment situations. The lessons incorporated many of the latest advancements in teaching practices and classroom technology. The need for this project was made evident from a review or the literature which indicated that a dual standard curriculum existed in the typical American urban high school. Analysis …
Organizational Development Through The Implementation Of Strategic Plans, Susan M. Eickhoff
Organizational Development Through The Implementation Of Strategic Plans, Susan M. Eickhoff
Dissertations
Organizations today need effective and efficient total organizational change strategies in order to ensure both short- and long-term organizational health. As a result of an organization being a multi-dimensional entity, the ingredients for its change strategy must necessarily be representative of all its dimensions such as business management, information system, behavior analysis, behavioral systems analysis, total quality management and statistical process control techniques. Those ingredients of a comprehensive change strategy exist but have not been put together into a totally integrated package so far. In the present study, a fully-integrated organizational change strategy was systematically employed with the goal of …
Nurse Manager Role Stress, Rosemarie Mohn
Nurse Manager Role Stress, Rosemarie Mohn
Ellmer School of Nursing Theses & Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of decision-making style, and right and left brain function on nurse manager role stress. Data were collected from 48 nurse managers employed at four acute care facilities along the Atlantic seaboard. A nonexperimental correlation descriptive design was utilized to determine if any positive or negative correlation existed between study variables and levels of stress. Findings suggested that nurse managers experienced moderate amounts of role stress, including role conflict and role ambiguity. One significant statistical correlation existed between role ambiguity and the decision making dimension of intuition. Recommendations for future research …
Structured Hypermedia Application Development Model (Shadm): A Structured Model For Technical Documentation Application Design, Peter W. Cassell
Structured Hypermedia Application Development Model (Shadm): A Structured Model For Technical Documentation Application Design, Peter W. Cassell
Theses and Dissertations
This research was conducted to determine how a Royal Australian Air Force technical maintenance publication could be transformed into a task oriented hypermedia application and to develop a model that could be used for future similar transformations. The model was developed following in-depth analysis of the existing USAF F-15E maintenance publication set and validation was conducted using a prototype developed in HyperWriter, a commercial hypermedia product. The prototype model was based around the performance of three maintenance tasks on an aircraft sub-subsystem and incorporated online user access to the necessary support data for task completion. Publication managers, producers, and users …

Correlation Of Cochlear Pathology With Auditory Brainstem And Cortical Responses In Cats With High Frequency Hearing Loss, R. J. Mount, R. V. Harrison, S. G. Stanton, A. Nagasawa
Correlation Of Cochlear Pathology With Auditory Brainstem And Cortical Responses In Cats With High Frequency Hearing Loss, R. J. Mount, R. V. Harrison, S. G. Stanton, A. Nagasawa
Scanning Microscopy
Newborn kittens were treated with the aminoglycoside amikacin to produce a bilateral high frequency cochlear hearing loss. The degree and stability of hearing loss were confirmed by recording auditory brainstem evoked potentials (ABR audiograms). After maturation, cochleotopic frequency representation within primary auditory cortex (Al) was mapped using standard microelectrode recording techniques. The cochlear sensory epithelium was assessed with SEM and the pattern of damage compared with the ABR audiograms and cortical frequency maps.
Amikacin treatment resulted in various patterns of haircell damage towards the base of the cochlea. A relatively abrupt transition between damaged and undamaged haircell regions resulted in …

Differentiated Supervision As A Means Of School Improvement, Donald D. Gainey
Differentiated Supervision As A Means Of School Improvement, Donald D. Gainey
Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive
This report describes the effort for reducing the discrepancy between the perceived effectiveness of the clinical-supervision process and the teacher-evaluation process. The problem was originally noted when teachers rated the teacher-evaluation process substantially higher than the clinical-supervision process on separate school involvement needs assessments. A survey of students also indicated that there was a substantial difference between teachers they regarded as the “best” and those they regarded as “average.”
Analysis of the problem symptoms revealed that adopted teacher-evaluation policies and procedures were rated highly by teachers as a means of professional development. The lack of definitive policies and procedures for …
