The re-emergence of the Graduate School of Theology after its closure in 1969 provides testimony to the bold vision of Oral Roberts of ecumenical higher education in the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. Undeterred by the closure of the first Graduate School of Theology, Roberts’ launch of the second seminary in 1976 under James Buskirk showed a continued emphasis on educating and empowering the whole body of Christ.

The recent addition of Sue Bergin to the F.A.R.M.S. staff as Coordinator of Public Relations has enhanced that second effort immensely. Like most people working with the Foundation, Sue puts in long hours as a volunteer because of her love for the scriptures.

A Day And A Half's Journey For A Nephite

Insights: The Newsletter of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship

The narrow neck of land is an important geographical feature in the Book of Mormon. For many years people have debated whether the narrow neck was the Isthmus of Panama, the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Southern Mexico, or somewhere else. But how wide could this distance have been? Recently analyzed information suggests that it could have been …
