Introduction To Algorithmic Ethics Under A Neutrosophic Framework: Re-Mapping The Debate, Antonios Paraskevas, Florentin Smarandache Oct 2024

Introduction To Algorithmic Ethics Under A Neutrosophic Framework: Re-Mapping The Debate, Antonios Paraskevas, Florentin Smarandache

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Algorithms have become an integral part of professional life and social interactions, in health, transport, commerce and industry. Moreover, they are bringing about changes in the natural, social and human sciences, enriching our knowledge and testing the limits of technology. In the age of artificial intelligence (AI), the ethical behavior of algorithms is facing increasing scrutiny. Traditional models that attempt to evaluate algorithm ethics using binary or probabilistic methods often fall short in addressing the complexity and uncertainties present in real-world situations. This study introduces a novel approach to assessing algorithmic ethics by utilizing neutrosophic indeterminacy. Neutrosophic logic, which considers …

Modeling Uncertainties Associated With Single-Valued Neutrosophic Multi-Attribute Decision-Making For Performance Evaluation Of Risk Investment In Small And Medium-Sized High-Technology Venture Enterprises, Huihui Shi, Ting Li, Fan Yang, Lei Qiao Oct 2024

Modeling Uncertainties Associated With Single-Valued Neutrosophic Multi-Attribute Decision-Making For Performance Evaluation Of Risk Investment In Small And Medium-Sized High-Technology Venture Enterprises, Huihui Shi, Ting Li, Fan Yang, Lei Qiao

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

In recent years, a group of rapidly growing technology-based entrepreneurial enterprises have emerged in China, playing an increasingly important role in the national economy. However, small and medium sized technology startups have low profitability and high risk, making it difficult to obtain sufficient funds from traditional financing channels. At present, research on venture capital evaluation mainly focuses on the evaluation of projects before venture capital, and empirical methods are mostly used to study the promoting effect of venture capital on performance after investment, ignoring the issue of continuous evaluation after investment. The performance evaluation of risk investment in small and …

The Theoretical Framework On Approximation Of Neutrosophic Numbers And Their Application, Augus Kurian, Sumathi I R, Omaima Al-Shanqiti Oct 2024

The Theoretical Framework On Approximation Of Neutrosophic Numbers And Their Application, Augus Kurian, Sumathi I R, Omaima Al-Shanqiti

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Neutrosophic sets are effectual logic represented to understand ambiguous and inconsistent information. They are frequently used to explain many types of partial or incomplete information. Researchers have given much attention to the decision-making theory and its associated methodologies based on uncertain linguistic factors. This article emphasizes the novel neutrosophic number approximations to handle linguistic variables and their application in multiple-attribute decision-making. Different approximation techniques are introduced in neutrosophic sets, but substantial data loss may occur. Hence, a hexagonal neutrosophic number was proposed to deal with information loss during approximation. Also, the comparison study with existing techniques is explored to show …

Climate Change And Neologisms: Towards A Lexico-Semantic Study, Abdelfetah Nacer Idrissi Oct 2024

Climate Change And Neologisms: Towards A Lexico-Semantic Study, Abdelfetah Nacer Idrissi

BAU Journal - Society, Culture and Human Behavior

Climate change, a global phenomenon resulting from human activity and natural factors, is one of the most pressing concerns of our time. The impacts of global warming, rising sea levels, extreme weather events and biodiversity loss are increasingly evident. Equally remarkable is the impact this colossal challenge is having on our language, a living mirror of our collective understanding of the world. Indeed, the appearance of terms such as "ecoanxiety", "climavore" and "energy transition" are all signs of a profound transformation of the lexicon, demonstrating our growing commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness. This study, which aims to be a …

Intelligrader: A Framework For Automatic Short Answer Grading, Inconsistency Check And Feedback In Educational Context - Conception, Implementation And Evaluation, Paradesi Sree Lakshmi, Jay B. Simha, Rajeev Ranjan Oct 2024

Intelligrader: A Framework For Automatic Short Answer Grading, Inconsistency Check And Feedback In Educational Context - Conception, Implementation And Evaluation, Paradesi Sree Lakshmi, Jay B. Simha, Rajeev Ranjan

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

Automatic Short Answer Grading (ASAG), an escalating realm in natural language understanding, constitutes a focal point of research within the broader field of learning analytics. Over time, many ASAG solutions have been proposed to address the difficulties in teaching. However, no work addressed three crucial aspects of evaluation together, i.e., i) automatic evaluation of brief subjective/descriptive answers written in English, ii) identifying the evaluation inconsistency, and iii) provision of providing feedback about inconsistent evaluation to the evaluator. The current work proposes IntelliGrader, a comprehensive ASAG system that addresses the above-mentioned issues. Automated grading is accomplished through a model answer-based approach. …

Decision-Making In Diagnosing Heart Failure Problems Using Dual Hesitant Fuzzy Sets, Manar Mohamed Omran, Reham Abdel-Aziz Abo-Khadra Oct 2024

Decision-Making In Diagnosing Heart Failure Problems Using Dual Hesitant Fuzzy Sets, Manar Mohamed Omran, Reham Abdel-Aziz Abo-Khadra

Journal of Engineering Research

In recent decades, several types of sets, such as fuzzy sets, interval-valued fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets, type 2 fuzzy sets, type n fuzzy sets, and hesitant fuzzy sets, have been introduced and investigated widely. In this paper, we propose dual hesitant fuzzy sets (DHFSs), which encompass fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, hesitant fuzzy sets, and fuzzy multi-sets as special cases. Then we investigate the basic operations and properties of DHFSs. We also discuss the relationships among the sets mentioned above, and then propose an extension principle of DHFSs. Additionally, we give an example to illustrate …

A Parallel Methodology For Early Fake News Detection Based On Hybrid Features On Social Media, Asmaa Mohemed Elsaieed Dr Oct 2024

A Parallel Methodology For Early Fake News Detection Based On Hybrid Features On Social Media, Asmaa Mohemed Elsaieed Dr

Journal of Engineering Research

The increased use of social media platforms has made it easier to publish and distribute news items, but it has also opened up new opportunities for distributing fake news. Fake news is information that has been written with the goal of misleading or deceiving readers. As a result, there is a need for efficient false news identification tools where the information can be gathered from the text of posts or from publicly available social data (such as user information or feedback on articles or the social network). The detection of fake news in its early stages is a major challenge. …

University Libraries Publications

OER is used to transform the affordability of education, but OER can also be used as a tool for cultural change across an institution or state. In Colorado, the open education community has used OER as a tool to advance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion; disciplinary, institutional, and state-level cultural change; and to advocate for student interests. Presenters representing a two-year college, four-year universities, and state government will discuss how their individual institutions and the state OER Council have leveraged OER to cultivate change from implementing state government-level funding for the development of OER to OER being used to lay …

Perceived Employability Of International Doctoral Students In The Uk: Applying Bronfenbrenner’S Ecological Systems Theory, Fa Wang, Rong Huang, Wai Mun Lim, Jinhua Zhang

Plymouth Business School

The quality of the UK’s doctorate training system plays a fundamental role in fostering vibrant research outputs and attracting global talent. However, while maintaining a consistently high standard of quality remains static and challenging, little is known about how the employability of international doctorate students is shaped and at what juncture it is opportune to support their employability during their research studies. This paper aims to understand the employability of international doctoral students within business schools at British universities, drawing on Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory as a framework. The qualitative study involves 15 international doctoral students from 9 business …

Scales Of Whiteness And Racial Mixing: Challenging And Confirming Racial Categories, Serin D. Houston Oct 2024

Scales Of Whiteness And Racial Mixing: Challenging And Confirming Racial Categories, Serin D. Houston

The Geographical Bulletin

This paper examines personal and public portrayals of the self and family articulated by heterosexual mixed-race households living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It argues that an attention to scale sheds light on how mixed-race partnerships and households both reproduce a racial hierarchy and express shifting racial identities. A focus on the work of whiteness – defined here as an evaluative set of practices and processes that implicitly or explicitly legitimate a static racial hierarchy – in the confirmation of and challenges to racial categories further specifies my claims. I explore seemingly contradictory expressions of race in …
