The Ideology And The Archeological And Cultural Dimensions In The Novel “The Bow And The Butterfly” By The Moroccan Writer Mohammad Al- Asha’Ari., Houda Eid
Al Jinan الجنان
This research aims to uncover the notion of historical self-awareness and to explore the novelist's ideology regarding the surrounding world, which is artistically reinterpreted through his narrative techniques. By employing the tools of semantics, the novelist seeks to achieve this within the text. In his novel, the writer employs verification and editing as structural strategies. The murder of the character, the son, serves as both a central theme and a means to reflect upon the other characters, allowing the author to delve deeply and expose the hidden simplicity and societal fragility within them. This approach highlights the transformations affecting individuals …

Journal of Informatics and Web Engineering
Intelligent abstractive text summarization of scholarly publications refers to machine-generated summaries that capture the essential ideas of an article while maintaining semantic coherence and grammatical accuracy. As information continues to grow at an overwhelming rate, text summarization has emerged as a critical area of research. In the past, summarization of scientific publications predominantly relied on extractive methods. These approaches involve selecting key sentences or phrases directly from the original document to create a summary or generate a suitable title. Although extractive methods preserve the original wording, they often lack the ability to produce a coherent, concise, and fluent summary, especially …

The Cost Of Training A Machine: Lighting The Way For A Climate-Aware Policy Framework That Addresses Artificial Intelligence's Carbon Footprint Problem
Fordham Environmental Law Review
While artificial intelligence (AI) has been a subject of great debate in spaces such as due process, discrimination, and privacy, an area that is lacking in legal scholarship is the technology’s environmental impact. AI promises to be a silver bullet in the increasingly urgent fight against climate change, yet it comes with a considerable cost to our planet. Current industry trends involve AI models being trained on increasingly larger datasets and training methodologies that prioritize brute-force over efficiency. Thus, as AI models increase in complexity and size, so too does the computing power—and energy—required to train and deploy them. Every …

The digital age has long dawned in many of the Tibetan Monasteries in exile. Thus, the inclusion of internet platforms and the usage of digital communication technologies was naturally part of my ethnomusicological collaboration with the Tibetan Bön monastic chant leader and scholar Geshé Dawa Namgyal Kharnatsang on the sacred recitation of the Yungdrung Bön tradition of Menri Monastery in Dolanji, India. In this article I will offer insights into Kharnatsang’s and my motivation to develop a hybrid collaboration and discuss the role and impact of the digital technologies on the traditional chain of transmission. I will draw on two …
“Forget The Rest ...”: Notes On Magnetic Tape And Other Antiquated Media As Archives Of Afro-Atlantic Liturgy, David Font-Navarrete
“Forget The Rest ...”: Notes On Magnetic Tape And Other Antiquated Media As Archives Of Afro-Atlantic Liturgy, David Font-Navarrete
Yale Journal of Music & Religion
The virtuosic complexity of Afro-Cuban orisha music has led scholars and artists to enshrine it as a “classical” tradition, and it has become one of most iconic and closely-studied sacred music traditions of the historical Afro-Atlantic. This essay traces the legacies of several analog-era multimedia technologies in orisha music traditions: reel-to-reel and cassette tapes; limited edition and out-of-print books and phonograph discs; ephemeral texts such as album liner notes; and photographic negatives, prints, and slides. The tapes and photos — along with a vast body of informal, unpublished, and out-of-print documents of Afro-Cuban orisha liturgy — are seldom archived by …

Coltrane’S A Love Supreme: Mediations Of Immediacy In Jazz Ritual And Recitation, James R. W. Crockford
Yale Journal of Music & Religion
This paper explores the ritualized performance ethic of John Coltrane’s later career, which is charged with a determined exploration of freedom and spiritual ascendance through participative and gestural immediacy. Conceiving of this music as a spiritual and political tool for embodied transformation, this paper traces this ethic at play in Coltrane’s iconic 1965 album A Love Supreme, identifying ways the work effects a mediation of immediacy. Through focus on the album’s closing “Psalm” recitation, its parallels in Coltrane’s other works, and their analogue in traditions of ecstatic liturgical and political oratory, this paper demonstrates the consistent priority Coltrane gives …
The Development Of Central American Communities In Western Europe, Jonathan S. Valenzuela Mejia
The Development Of Central American Communities In Western Europe, Jonathan S. Valenzuela Mejia
Claremont-UC Undergraduate Research Conference on the European Union
Central Americans in the past 50 years have been migrating in larger and larger numbers. This is mostly caused by civil wars, economic turmoil, and political instability. The number of migrants has only increased over time and the United States has been the main destination for Central Americans and houses the largest diaspora from the region. However, in recent years, Central Americans have begun to migrate in larger numbers to Europe due to increased difficulties in migrating to the United States, and because of visa-free access to most European countries and a more streamlined asylum process. Most of these migrants …

Assessing Paths To Greenlandic Independence: Reconciling Inuit Cultural Autonomy With Danish Rule, Leo Freedman
Assessing Paths To Greenlandic Independence: Reconciling Inuit Cultural Autonomy With Danish Rule, Leo Freedman
Claremont-UC Undergraduate Research Conference on the European Union
This analytical paper seeks to understand what political, economic, and sociocultural barriers inhibit Greenlandic independence from Denmark. The concept of independence must be conceptualized from an Inuit perspective in order to analyze what sacrifices Greenland’s largest ethnic group is willing to make to achieve an independent state. The resource extraction industry offers one path towards independence by reducing dependency on Danish and EU funding. However, this paper argues that Inuit cultural values, especially an inherent connection with the physical and spiritual health of the natural environment, is of higher value than the economic benefits of investing in the resource extraction …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
The Geometric Bonferroni Mean (GBM), is an extension of The Bonferroni mean (BM), that combines both BM and the geometric mean, allowing for the representation of correlations among the combined factors while acknowledging the inherent uncertainty within the decision-making process. Within the framework of Pythagorean neutrosophic set (PNS) that encompasses truth, indeterminacy, and falsity-membership degrees, each criterion can be integrated into a unified PNS value, portraying the overall evaluation of that criterion by employing the Geometric Bonferroni mean. This study aims to enhance decision-making in Pythagorean neutrosophic framework by introducing an aggregation operator to PNS using the Geometric Bonferroni Mean. …

Enhanced Tfnn-Gra Technique For Multiple-Attribute Decision-Making With Triangular Fuzzy Neutrosophic Information And Applications To Performance Evaluation Of Internally Cured High-Strength Concrete, Huayang Sun, Zhongyu Liu
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Internal curing technology involves the integration of internal curing materials into concrete, typically under pre-water storage conditions. This method works by gradually releasing water to increase the internal humidity of the concrete, which enhances the hydration of cementitious materials, reduces self-shrinkage in high-strength concrete (HSC), and improves its overall performance. Commonly used internal curing materials include absorbent resin and lightweight aggregates. However, using these materials in excessive amounts can compromise the strength or durability of the concrete, making it essential to determine the optimal dosage for effective application. When applied to HSC, internal curing helps mitigate shrinkage and enhances frost …
