Nanotechnology is considered as a modern technique which provides useful characteristics to the nanomaterial including small size with high biological activity and the possibility to obtain novel nano-biohybrids through combining efficient and safe transport carriers with biological molecules. The nanohybrid chitosan has important applications in the food industry, due to its biochemical properties, such as biocompatibility, biodegradability, non-toxicity. The goal of this research is to develop environmentally friendly, economically feasible and a simple prepared natural nanohybrid antioxidant instead of artificial one, which is a main characteristic on a food industrial scale. The sol-gel ion exchange method was used to prepare …

The Moringa peregrina plant possesses various therapeutic properties. This study determined the immunomodulatory and cytotoxic activities of M. peregrina seed ethanol extract (MPSE). Based on using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis MPSE is rich in flavonoids, isothiocyanate, tocopherols, triterpenoids, and phenolics compounds. The immunomodulatory effect of MPSE was determined on whole blood and polymorphonuclear (PMNs) cells and macrophages. The in vitro antiproliferative effect was determined on the non-small-cell lung cancer, NCI-H460, cell line. Real-time quantitative PCR and flow cytometry were used to determine the expression of apoptotic genes in the MPSE-treated NCI-H460 cells. MPSE significantly (p < 0.001) suppressed whole blood, PMN cells and macrophage ROS production with IC50 values of 40.3 ± 0.3, 33.0 ± 0.6, and 26.1 ± 0.43 μg/mL, respectively. MPSE …

Combined, plant sterols and stanols, substances structurally similar to cholesterol, are referred to as phytosterols. In plants, phytosterols serve the same purposes as cholesterol does in animals and people. This study’s primary goal was to compare two different cell line types to the extracted steroid and nano-steroid. PHPLC was used to isolate the novel steroid molecule from the Euphorbia milii plant in its pure form, and FT.IR was used to confirm its identity. The chemical had a retention time of 13.87. By using the chitosan-maleic complex process, nano-steroids were created. To evaluate produced nanoparticles, the Philips PW1730 XRD instrument was …

Artificial light at night (ALAN) is a growing, globally prevalent environmental stressor. It is known to disrupt biological processes across taxa and biomes, including reproductive phenology in terrestrial plants, but its potential to alter reproductive timings in marine macroalgae remains unexplored. We used reflectance spectrometry to quantitatively assess changes in receptacle ripeness of three fucoid macroalgae species at four field sites along an ALAN gradient in Plymouth Sound, UK over a six-month period. At sites with elevated ALAN (measured using Sky Quality Meters, range 16.15–18.76 mag arcsec −2, equivalent to 3.75 × 10 −2–3.38 × 10 −3 cd/m …

ObjectiveThe rising incidence and mortality in bladder cancer (BC) underscore the importance of identifying asscociated features. Current reliance on haematuria as a primary indicator for BC proves inadequate. While mining electronic health records (EHRs) offer potential of identifying BC-related signals, traditional data-driven methods struggle with high-dimensional datasets. This study aims to uncover novel BC-associated clinical signals by developing Parsimony-driven cAtegory-balaNced binary Signal extractor for Primary Care EHRs (PanSPICE) tailored to extremely high-dimensional data linked from multi-centres.MethodsWe collected BC cases and control patients (n = 64,884) linked at patient-level from Welsh nationwide databases, yielding 48,261 features in primary care settings. The …

Pexidartinib (PEX, TURALIO®), a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is approved for treating tenosynovial giant cell tumor in adults. However, its potential to cause fatal liver injury has prompted the U.S. FDA to issue a black box warning, and the mechanisms underlying its hepatotoxicity remain largely unknown. As biotransformation may contribute to PEX-induced hepatotoxicity, understanding its metabolism is essential. Our previous research indicated that PEX forms reactive metabolites in human and mouse liver microsomes and in human hepatocytes. We investigated PEX metabolism and liver distribution in mice with a focus on metabolite characterization. Our data shows that PEX is mainly excreted into …

Experience with the Aurora extravascular (EV) implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA) remains limited among pediatric centers in contrast to its broader implantation in adults. We evaluated our single-center experience with the EV ICD as part of our standard ICD options for treatment of malignant ventricular arrhythmias in pediatric subjects. Following approval for EV ICD implantation at our center, five consecutive adolescent patients underwent implantation over a 7-month period. Patient characteristics, qualification for EV ICD placement, nuances in EV ICD implantation in each patient, and post-implant follow-up were reviewed. A total of six out of eight consecutive ICD candidates …

Background
Recurrent and spontaneous seizures are a symptom of the epilepsy. It affects up to 65 million individuals globally, with lower-income nations accounting for 80% of cases. Since medicinal plants have special therapeutic qualities, they are frequently used to manage and cure epilepsy and convulsions. Because they have fewer side effects and stronger therapeutic results, medicinal plants are becoming more and more popular worldwide as a result of increased research and clinical use. The pharmaceutical industry is now concentrating heavily on the creation of novel plant-based antiepileptic/anticonvulsant drugs
Aims of the study:
Study the role of coriander sativum extraction in …
Torts And Pesticide Drift: Amending Right-To-Farm Acts In The Wake Of Widespread Dicamba Drift By Nicholas Brown** And Matt Roessing*
Journal of Legal Studies in Business
When crops die in a field prior to harvest, a farmer loses a portion of his salary for that year. When the cause of the crop loss is natural, farmers can usually seek compensation through crop insurance and government commodity support programs. When the crops were lost as a result of pesticide drift, these forms of compensation are not usually available to farmers.1 In order to make up for their losses, farmers can seek damages through judicial redress. For many decades, various state and federal laws have combined to complicate and at times prevent farmers adversely affected by pesticide drift …

Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision
This study examines the differences in how adjunct and core faculty evaluate counseling students using a brief version of the Counselor Competencies Scale-Revised (CCS-R). Data from 647 evaluations of 433 students were analyzed. The results show that adjunct faculty, particularly those with master's degrees, tend to rate students significantly higher on professional counseling dispositions than core faculty, raising concerns about the consistency of gatekeeping in counselor training programs. These findings suggest a need for the standardization of counseling disposition evaluation practices to maintain high training standards. Implications for student-to-faculty ratio requirements are discussed.

Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision
Counselor education programs are required to demonstrate a clear framework, effective implementation, and overall program effectiveness. The pandemic’s surge in online instruction influenced CACREP’s (2024) digital delivery (DD) standards, addressing ethical and legal implications alongside student outcomes. Guidance from digital health initiatives, telemental health ethics and legal practices can be invaluable in clarifying DD protocols for counselor education programs. Understanding the parallels between DD and digital health regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ACA [2014], and NBCC [2023] ethical codes) provides a solid foundation for protecting both students and programs. Integrating technology and modeling digital health practices can enhance counselor education, benefiting both …

This study examines the perceptions and attitudes of a six-person focus group of counselor educators about teaching advanced counseling skills in CACREP accredited Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral programs. Results of the framework analysis indicate that while counseling skills are valued at the doctoral level, there is a need for individualized and collaborative construction of both assessments for and activities within doctoral internships in counseling. A Holographic Model of Doctoral Skills Training is introduced, providing a comprehensive framework for enhancing doctoral-level counseling skills training in counselor education and supervision programs.

This study used qualitative content analysis (QCA) to explore perceptions of engaging in Mixed Reality Simulation (MRS) with avatars on the development of Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCCs) for school counselors in training. Results suggested that MRS contributed to improving participants’ confidence in MSJCCs, and they would have valued additional practice with MRS to address implicit bias with clients. Results indicate the need for additional MRS research to advance the development of MSJCCs in school counselor training.

This study evaluates the in vivo pharmacokinetics of triple-drug gastro-retentive formulation (metronidazole- Plantago ovata seed mucilage/ clarithromycin- Abelmoschus esculentus fruit mucilage/enteric-coated pantoprazole) for Helicobacter pylori eradication, with a focus on pharmacokinetic parameters (e.g., relative bioavailability vs. conventional doses) as the true contribution. In a cross over study using six rabbits, plasma concentrations of metronidazole, clarithromycin, and pantoprazole sodium were measured via High Performance Liquid Chromatography technique, and pharmacokinetic parameters were determined. A single dose of the optimized formulation (C-8) produced optimal drug levels, with a mean Cmax of 24.36 ± 0.84 μg/mL and tmax at 6 hours. The other pharmacokinetic …
