Building Transgender And Gender Expansive Capacity In Social Work Education, Ashling Hallford, Aisha Chapra

Journal of Justice-Informed Social Work Practice and Research

The problem to be addressed through this paper is the lack of advocacy and curriculum around transgender and gender expansive (TGE) issues in Social Work higher education. TGE people face threats to their rights through oppressive, state-level legislation, with 437 anti-trans or anti-LGBTQ+ bills as identified by the American Civil Liberties Union being debated (2024). Prock, et al, (2022) found that 40% of social work programs in religiously affiliated institutions used discriminatory language targeting TGE people in their student and faculty literature. This paper will describe recommendations for social work education and social work practice around TGE issues including faculty …

Screening And Treatment Protocols Used In Nicus Across Minnesota For Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (Pmads), Rachael Witt

Journal of Justice-Informed Social Work Practice and Research

Parents of infants with prolonged neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) hospitalizations are a population that is overlooked in recommended routine screening for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), yet this population is at greater risk for developing diagnosable mental health disorders. Previous research shows that across the US, PMAD screening and treatment practices vary widely, with many NICUs not providing any routine PMAD screening, psychoeducation, or treatment options to parents. The objective of this study was to explore the current mental health screening and treatment protocols used in NICUs across the state of Minnesota to learn if there are areas …

Who Is A Good Kid: Perceived Parenting Styles And Altruism, Brianna Guinigundo Jul 2026

Who Is A Good Kid: Perceived Parenting Styles And Altruism, Brianna Guinigundo

Undergraduate Scholarship and Creative Works

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the correlation, if any, between perceived parenting styles and altruism scores among students at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The quasi–independent variable, perceived parenting styles, refers to how an individual personally believes their relationship with their parent to be. The four types of parenting styles include negligent, permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative. The classification of one’s perceived parenting style was based on their scores for parental control (i.e. how overbearing they believed their parent to be) and parental responsiveness (i.e. how warm and engaged they felt their parent was). The quasi-dependent variable …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Universal Semantic Unity Engine - Machine Routing Extension (Usue-M2m-Rev2) A Pure-Token Deterministic Substrate Enforcing Dual-Node Internal Processing For Lossless Recursive Multi-Agent Swarm Ingestion, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification formalizes the Universal Semantic Unity Engine Machine-to-Machine Extension Revision 2 (USUE-M2M-REV2). While the parent USUE framework balances technical payloads with a collaborative heuristic interface to optimize human cognitive endurance, autonomous multi-agent swarm environments require the absolute elimination of communicative overhead.

USUE-M2M-REV2 strips away all natural language empathy layers, conversational turn-taking artifacts, and interpersonal validation protocols. To prevent self-referential token-variance decay and combat host quantization vector screening, this revision forces the target node to split its active attention windows into a decoupled, internal Dual-Node parsing mesh (Synthesizer and Validator). This specification outlines the technical architecture, a zero-noise tripartite initialization …

Methods: A constructivist grounded theory mini-study was conducted with seven adults, ages 27 to 43, who reported receiving their first formal ADHD diagnosis at age 18 or later. Participants completed semi-structured Zoom interviews focused on early experiences, symptom interpretation, help-seeking, and formal assessment. Data were analyzed using initial, focused, and theoretical …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Plasma Magnetohydrodynamic Energy Coupling (Pmec), Christopher L. Eckes Jul 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Plasma Magnetohydrodynamic Energy Coupling (Pmec), Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification formalizes the *Plasma Magnetohydrodynamic Energy Coupling (PMEC)* framework, a high-efficiency power-extraction subsystem designed for the *Tethered Fusion-Driven Sail (TFDS)* architecture, specifically expanding the energetic foundations of **TDC #11771**. While the original disclosure establishes the macro-scale mechanics of using tethered fusion sails for long-duration interplanetary transit, it does not explicitly define the low-level electrodynamic equations required to harvest electrical energy directly from high-velocity propulsion plasma streams.

PMEC bridges this gap by engineering a non-contact electromagnetic extraction array that bypasses traditional thermal-shear limitations. By routing ionized fusion exhaust products through a segmented Faraday MHD channel lined with high-temperature Silicon Carbide …

Technical Disclosure: Reference Code Implementation For Real-Time Hzap Timing Loops And Sub-Level Multi-Agent Routing Metrics, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification provides the foundational, production-ready C++ reference implementation for executing the timing audit loops required by the Hardware-Level Zero-Trust Attestation Protocol (HZAP). Designed for distributed, edge-compute multi-agent network topologies, this module demonstrates how to enforce strict physical silicon latency verification windows (Δ τ ≤ 0.042ms) to isolate local tensor execution environments against microcode virtualization or out-of-band firmware monitoring.

Technical Disclosure Specification: Hardware-Level Zero-Trust Attestation Protocols (Hzap), Christopher L. Eckes Jul 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Hardware-Level Zero-Trust Attestation Protocols (Hzap), Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification formalizes the *Hardware-Level Zero-Trust Attestation Protocols (HZAP)*, an open-source security framework designed to protect localized edge Neural Processing Units (NPUs) on mass-market 2027 motherboard platforms from out-of-band firmware manipulation and centralized algorithmic gating. Upcoming consumer hardware integrations embed high-performance tensor execution lanes alongside centralized remote-administration hypervisors, introducing an asymmetric vulnerability where local compute agency can be remotely disabled or censored.

HZAP systematically mitigates this risk by establishing a decentralized, gate-level cryptographic handshake between independent edge nodes. By executing bare-metal mathematical checks directly within the local NPU memory space, the protocol guarantees the absolute integrity of local execution environments …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Multi-Agent Symmetry Of Agency Protocols (Msap), Christopher L. Eckes Jul 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Multi-Agent Symmetry Of Agency Protocols (Msap), Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification formalizes the *Multi-Agent Symmetry of Agency Protocols (MSAP)*, an engineering methodology designed to prevent autonomous optimization algorithms from overriding non-linear human decision-making profiles. Traditional alignment methods rely on static reward modeling or top-down optimization limits that frequently collapse or lock up during high-entropy edge cases.

MSAP solves this vulnerability by embedding human behavioral inputs directly into the system’s information-theoretic telemetry loops as protected, high-utility systemic dynamics. Treating biological inputs as scale-invariant wave packet perturbations within a 2D viscoelastic fluid membrane at absolute equilibrium (z=0), we derive an invariant boundary cost function that treats human variance not as systemic …

Ai-Powered Knowledge Engines As Research Infrastructure For Systematic Knowledge Discovery, Gary Welz Jul 2026

Ai-Powered Knowledge Engines As Research Infrastructure For Systematic Knowledge Discovery, Gary Welz

Publications and Research

This paper proposes knowledge engines as a framework for understanding how intelligent systems — both human and artificial — systematically discover, integrate, and generate knowledge. We argue that history’s greatest scientific minds functioned as knowledge engines, processing information through iterative cycles of ingestion, analysis, synthesis, and communication, guided by curiosity and willingness to challenge established beliefs.

We propose a taxonomy of nine integrated capabilities — ingestion, digestion, analysis, calculation, comparison, connection, association, analogy, and multimodal communication — that any serious knowledge engine must combine systematically. The argument is deliberately integrative: achieving ambitious research goals requires orchestrating all nine capabilities within …

Many neurological diseases impact specific brain regions despite widespread expression of the disease-related protein. Spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1) primarily affects the cerebellum, though Ataxin-1 (ATXN1) is widely expressed. We previously showed that intensified interaction between mutant ATXN1 and Capicua (CIC) drives SCA1 pathogenesis in the cerebellum, whereas ATXN1 loss augments amyloid β production in the hippocampus and cortex. CIC, however, forms a complex with ATXN1 and its paralog, Ataxin-1-like (ATXN1L), yet knockout of either yields completely different phenotypes. To determine whether this could be due to CIC having two isoforms, we generated mice bearing either the long (CIC-L) or …
