Benvenuto Rambaldi da Imola (c.1320–1388), an Italian scholar and lecturer based in Bologna, is chiefly remembered for his influential Latin Comentum super Dantis Aligherii comoediam [Commentary on Dante’s Alighieri’s Comedy] (1373–88). In his gloss on Dante’s placement of Mordred in Hell, Benvenuto borrows extensively from Boccaccio’s chapter on King Arthur (VIII.19) in De casibus virorum illustrium [On the Downfalls of Famous Men] (1360; 1373). Benvenuto adds additional content from the chronicle story of King Arthur that derives from Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia regum Britanniae [History of the Kings of Britain] (c.1136). Translated by:
Christopher Berard and Morris Tichenor
Giovanni Boccaccio (1313–75), born in Certaldo, Tuscany, is best remembered today as the Father of Italian Prose owing to the immense popularity of his Decameron (c.1349–51), a collection of one hundred short stories (written in Italian prose) that are embedded in a narrative frame of a storytelling game undertaken by seven young women and three young men who fled Florence for Friesole in hopes of escaping the Black Death. During the Renaissance (1400–1600), however, Boccaccio was best remembered for his De casibus virorum illustrium [On the Downfalls of Famous Men] (c.1360). …
Hydrogeological Investigations At Diamond Y Springs And Surrounding Area, Pecos County, Texas, Radu Boghici
Hydrogeological Investigations At Diamond Y Springs And Surrounding Area, Pecos County, Texas, Radu Boghici
KIP Theses and Dissertations
This study presents the results of local hydrogeologic investigations at Diamond Y Springs and vicinity, a 660 mi^2 (1710 km^2) area of north-central Pecos County, Texas. The data confirm the hypothesis of Rustler aquifer water as the chief source of flow at Diamond Y Springs today. Dissolution of halite and gypsum, base exchange, evaporation, and mixing of the two hydrochemical facies of the Rustler with recent local waters can explain the water chemistry and isotopic composition.

The Early Causes Of The Virginia-Maryland Boundary Controversy, 1627-1668., J. Taylor Ellyson
Honors Theses
The boundary disputes between Virginia and Maryland were due mainly to the haphazard way in which the King of England granted the land in the New World, but the lack of geographical knowledge, on the part of the commissioners of the colonies, and later of the states, aided much in furthering these disputes, which covered a period of about two hundred and fifty years (1632-1894), and were only ended by a decision of the Supreme Court of the United States.
This paper is not a history of these boundary controversies, but only that part of the subject, which led to …

The method of reading and writing about literature is undergoing a major change. The root of this change rests in the "structural" revolution that swept through the physical and social sciences early in this century. Rather than seeing the physical world as a collection of objects " out there," the structuralists demonstrated that " reality" was partially created by human consciousness. To quote Terence Hawks on the structural revolution, " any observer is bound to create something of what he observes. Accordingly, the relationship between observer and observed achieves a kind of primacy. It becomes the only thing that can …
