The importance of this research comes in accordance with the research in cognitive psychology and cognitive linguistics related to the renewed concept, along with the work of Roche, which presented anthropological and mystical concepts that investigate the mystical constants that have a universal form. The concept of the saying in the theory of archetypes depends on the concept of mental image and referential connotation, to highlight the relationship between perception and language within the framework of experimental realism, which is the basic starting point in cognitive theory. The problem of the research appears from the possibility of considering the associative …

Alustath Journal for Human and Social Sciences
Interaction with the environment is one of the basic pillars of the process of building civilization, as it represents the vital relationship between man and the surrounding nature. Investing in natural resources and harnessing them to serve society is what ensures the continuity and growth of civilizations. Hence, it becomes clear that any civilization cannot be built in isolation from the environment, as it is the incubator that provides man with raw materials, and it is also the field in which he tests his abilities to innovate and develop. The ancient Egyptian civilization is a prominent example of how to interact …

Speleoco: An Open, Low-Cost Arduino Co₂ Datalogger For Cave Microclimate Monitoring, Christos Pennos, Dimitrios Christaras
International Journal of Speleology
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) dynamics in caves are critical for karst processes, speleothem growth and dissolution, microclimate regulation, and caver safety. In cave atmospheres, CO₂ commonly derives from soil respiration, epikarst degassing, microbial activity, and, in tectonically active regions, deep-seated fault-related emissions. Fault-related CO₂ degassing may also track tectonic activity. However, continuous monitoring remains limited due to the cost and inflexibility of commercial instruments. Here we present an open-source, low-cost Arduino-based CO₂ datalogger designed for cave applications. The logger integrates a COZIR NDIR CO₂ sensor, a DS1337 real-time clock, microSD storage, and power-gating for extended deployment in humid environments. Firmware and …

This retrospective cohort study compared real-world use of intravenous versus oral antimicrobial therapy in bone and joint infections within a large healthcare system comprising both academic and community medical centers. The primary outcome was the proportion of treatment failure. Key secondary outcomes included the proportion of patients with logistical failure and risk factors associated with treatment and logistical failure. Among 166 patients included, 136 (82%) and 30 (18%) …
From Classroom To Leadership: Anchoring My Leadership In Literacy, Character, And Equity, Amanda Patty-Ingram
From Classroom To Leadership: Anchoring My Leadership In Literacy, Character, And Equity, Amanda Patty-Ingram
Dissertations
My leadership journey as an urban educator has evolved through multiple roles—beginning as a classroom teacher, growing into an academic instructional coach, and now serving as an assistant principal. Across these roles, three values have consistently guided how I lead: literacy, character education, and equity. These are not separate initiatives—they are the foundation of my decisions, relationships, and instructional leadership.
Over time, I have come to understand that effective literacy leadership must be grounded in both character education and equity. Yet in practice, these values are often treated as disconnected: literacy becomes test prep, character becomes behavior compliance, and equity …

Flight Of The Gods: Charting The Terra Incognita Of Belief Through Dragon Literature, Alanna Hess
Undergraduate Honors Theses
“Flight of the Gods” is a fantasy short story that portrays a religious relationship between humans and dragons to explore themes of religious questioning. In doing so, “Flight of the Gods” unites with modern dragon literature by adapting the dragon motif to address real-world issues. Drawing from research on falcons and falconry, the dragons in this short story exhibit a complex relationship with their human counterparts that emphasizes themes of religious doubt and the complexity of belief. The thesis begins with a critical introduction discussing these topics and then presents the short story.

This review discusses definitions, complications, etiologies, diagnoses, and management of ankyloglossia. Ankyloglossia is defined as a developmental anomaly of the tongue, which occurs when the lingual frenulum attachment is too tight to the tongue. Several protocols exist for the diagnosis of this condition, including that proposed by Hazelbaker, who assessed tongue movements (seven different movements) and five appearance characteristics (Hazelbaker Assessment Tool for Lingual Frenulum Function), as well as Kotlow's classification method, which categorizes the severity of ankyloglossia through the attachment of the lingual frenulum to the tongue. In addition, scenarios suggested for case management are related to the severity …

Voting Rights In Kansas After League Of Women Voters V. Schwab, Richard E. Levy
Denver Law Review
Recently, in League of Women Voters of Kansas v. Schwab (League II), the Kansas supreme court addressed the constitutionality of a Kansas statute that purported to combat election fraud. In League II, the court invalidated a provision criminalizing conduct that leads others falsely to believe the actor is an election official, rejected some challenges to a signature verification requirement but remanded for further consideration of others, and upheld a provision limiting the number of ballots that a single person could submit on behalf of others during an election. The decision has important implications not only for voting rights in Kansas …

Asynchronous Trials: A New Approach To High-Volume Civil Adjudication, Henry Z. Wang
Denver Law Review
For thousands of years, trials were held in brick-and-mortar courthouses. Then COVID-19 ravaged the world, forcing many businesses and institutions—including courts—to move their operations online. For the first time, many people experienced the benefits of online trials that are held via videoconference software such as Zoom. But Zoom fatigue is real. Now that the pandemic has lessened and courts are no longer urgently adapting to a virtual format, we must more thoughtfully consider what judicial innovations should come next. Outside of the courtroom, this revolution in communication methods has profoundly affected people’s daily lives: we have switched from almost entirely …

To Vacate Or Not To Vacate: Partial Remedies And Mootness In Federal Habeas Of State Convictions, Jeffrey Greenbaum
University of Cincinnati Law Review
This Article addresses two related issues in the federal habeas of state convictions. First, it analyzes a circuit split that recently emerged over whether a state’s appeal would be moot after a federal district court grants habeas and a state vacates its own judgment. One view is that the state vacatur would render the appeal moot because the prisoner is no longer in custody. A second view is that the appeal would not necessarily be moot because a partial remedy could be available. Second, this Article identifies some courts conflating the language of a state’s vacatur in habeas and evaluates …

Civil Rights History In South Carolina And The Question Of Meaning: Tools For Closing The Achievement Gap?, E. Doyle Stevick
Civil Rights History In South Carolina And The Question Of Meaning: Tools For Closing The Achievement Gap?, E. Doyle Stevick
Teacher Education Journal of South Carolina
Schools seldom convey the purpose of education to students, and are poorly suited to be responsive to students’ purposes. Yet meaning is a crucial factor in whether students achieve in school. If schools can find ways to nurture a purpose for learning in students who do not have one, schooling can be transformed. In South Carolina, with its history of racism in education, exposure to the local and ongoing struggles for civil rights and a good education could potentially provide such meaning, and narrow the achievement gap.
