Uncovering what constitutes polite language in each culture and how certain expressions deemed acceptable in one society might be inappropriate in the other is the focus of politeness. Therefore, this study investigates the variations in communication strategies among speakers of Najdi Arabic, as spoken in Bisha City, and speakers of American English. The study basically explores how individuals from these distinct linguistic backgrounds respond to five different social scenarios. This duoethnographic study examines the relationship between motion and stasis in creative practice through the lens of two creative educators working in postgraduate and undergraduate Creative Industries. Drawing on our combined experiences as practitioners and educators at SAE University College, we explore how creative blockages can be reframed as productive rather than problematic, challenging dominant productivity paradigms in contemporary creative industries and education. Beyond The Grade: Validity In Global Virtual Team Peer Evaluation, Maria Randazzo-Davis, Phd., Christopher Nelson , Phd., Hillary Nelson, Graduate Student

This study examines how peer evaluation functions in global virtual teams, a setting that reflects the collaborative demands of contemporary international business education. The authors tested whether peer evaluation subscales, total peer-report score, and various indicators of team diversity predict team performance, assessed by instructors in a sample of 2,012 students from 445 X-Culture teams. The variables that were good predictors of team performance included the quality of team communication, work ethic, technical competence, generation of ideas, peer engagement, and peer writing skills. The Hebrew Bible features numerous accounts of mourning that reveal it as a significant aspect of the ancient Near Eastern burial customs. Biblical mourning involves an established process of grieving the loss of a dead person by his or her family and community (Deut 34:8; 2 Sam 1:11–12). The Bible also mentions other forms of mourning besides grieving the loss of the dead. Penitential mourning is the expression of sorrow resulting from awareness of personal or corporate sin (Joel 2:12–14; Ezra 10:6). This Doctor of Ministry thesis project addresses worship fragmentation at Beach Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where sacramental, evangelical, and charismatic elements have historically functioned independently, leading to theological imbalance and diminished congregational unity. The purpose of the project was to develop and implement a framework for unified worship that reflects the Trinitarian nature of God by integrating Word, Sacrament, and Spirit in a cohesive, theologically grounded, and experientially rich liturgy. South Korea, as the fastest-aging country in the world, occupies a critical position in aging research. Designing for older adults requires a multidimensional understanding; however, existing studies on design principles for aging have tended to adopt functionalist approaches focused primarily on physical and cognitive decline. Speculative design has the potential to foster civic reflection but often remains inaccessible to broader audiences due to its cultural and conceptual complexity. This paper presents a research-through-design (RtD) exploration of how speculative design can become more inclusive by embedding reflection into the narrative experience itself. We redesigned INWARDS, a policy-oriented speculative artefact, by segmenting one of its films and integrating plain-language prompts at key narrative moments and reframing participation as introspection by triggering lightweight, personal reflections. This paper introduces the concepts of creative marketplaces, place branding, and co-creation. Focusing on Jiaozi Market in Chengdu, China, the authors use third-generation Activity Theory (Engeström, 2001) and Digital Ethnography (Pink et al., 2016), to map the roles of market organisers, vendors, and consumers. This reveals contradictions between place branding motives and outcomes across the activity system - tools, rules, community and division of labour - within the creative marketplace. The findings suggest that although creative marketplaces promote a perception of curated place branding, stakeholder participation often remains symbolic, resulting in disjointed and in authentic experiences for all involved.

This paper investigates how the Danish art collective SUPERFLEX make use of actual or mediated hypnotic situations in five key artworks: Experience Climate Change as an Animal (2009), The Financial Crisis (Session I-IV) (2009), Hotline til udkanten (“Hotline for the Peripheries” (2010), The Working Life (2013), and Inter species Café (2021). This study addresses the pervasive "innovation-delivery fracture" phenomenon in Taiwan's regional revitalization policy by proposing a Double-Helix Integration Model that non-linearly interweaves Design Thinking (exploration helix) with Lean Thinking (delivery helix). The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology into design education presents both opportunities and challenges. While AI tools can improve learning efficiency, research remains limited in understanding the impact on students’ creative thinking—particularly in relation to the interplay between creative mindset (i.e., growth vs. fixed) and AI self-efficacy. This study adopted a cross- sectional survey design, administering the Creative Mindset Scale and the AISelf-Efficacy Scaleto243 design students. The narrative imaginary surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been predominantly shaped by science fiction cinema and television, with dystopian scenarios prevailing. This dominance poses a significant challenge by constraining designers’ creative capacities to envision alternatives beyond the dystopian genre. It reinforces fear-based representations, fostering a polarizing perspective of being either for or against AI, rather than embracing a range of diverse viewpoints. This study examines audience interaction mechanisms and spatial experience in Chinese non-galleries, particularly in tourist, residential, and commercial cultural environments. This study investigates the entrepreneurial trajectories of designer-entrepreneurs in Taiwan’s cultural and creative markets through a design research–based mixed methods approach. Framing entrepreneurship as a design process—an iterative practice of framing, making, and reflecting—the research constructs and validates a Seven-Stage Entrepreneurship Model grounded in quantitative and qualitative evidence. Data from 226 survey responses and 18 in-depth interviews reveal seven empirically derived stages: Seed, Trial, Product Development, Brand Formation, Operational Scale-up, Maturity, and Innovation & Transformation. This study explores service design strategies for Culturally Embedded Marathons (CEMs), proposing a research perspective that integrates cultural memory formation mechanisms (symbol is ation, ritual is ation, and institutional is ation) to examine service design frameworks. Through a case study of the representative 2025 Kyoto Marathon, we identified 26 cultural touch points within its service design system. Using Python, we scraped and analysed 2,689 user-generated posts from social media platforms documenting the 2025 Kyoto Marathon, comprising 13,345 images. Narrative identity—the way individuals construct meaning by organizing life experiences into personal stories—plays a vital role in self-understanding. Generative AI systems, such as chatbots and journaling apps, are now being used to support this kind of identity work. While prior work has explored how generative AI can support either intra personal reflection or interpersonal interaction, few systems are intentionally designed to bridge the two.
