Japan’S Military Transformation In Abe Era: A Revolution Or Something Else?, Ganesh Aji Wicaksono, Tangguh Chairil

Journal of Strategic and Global Studies

After the World War II, Japan has been adopting a pacifist Constitution and established the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) for narrow self-defense operations. The JSDF are restricted from having offensive military weapons. However, Japan’s pacifism and restrained security policy have been evolving recently, especially during the term of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2012-2020). The latest example is Japan’s plan to enable forward defense and counterstrike. This paper explores the transformation of Japan’s military through the revolution of military affairs (RMA) concept. The findings suggest evolutionary transformation of Japan’s military rather than revolutionary. The factors explored include international and domestic factors. …

The purpose of this project was to discover if providing emergency room nursing staff with pregnancy loss bereavement education allows for enhanced support, knowledge, and confidence when caring for women experiencing pregnancy loss. The aim of the project is to measure if perceptions of ER registered nurses support, resources, knowledge, and confidence …

Animal Interiority: Sentience And Spatial Perception, Raymund Königk Jul 2025

Animal Interiority: Sentience And Spatial Perception, Raymund Königk

Interiority

Interior design has traditionally prioritised human experiences, often neglecting ecological and nonhuman perspectives on interiority. This anthropocentric focus limits the discipline's ability to address the spatial and sensory needs of nonhuman persons, including teleost fishes. It overlooks interiority as a universal and relational phenomenon shared by all living beings. This research challenges these boundaries by proposing a biosemiotic framework that integrates the body, interiority, and inhabitation as interdependent constructs shaped by physiological, mental, and environmental interactions. By developing Jakob von Uexküll's (1982) biosemiotic schema, the study investigates the sentient experiences of teleost fishes to establish interiority as a capability inherent …

The court dismissed a real estate developer's complaint against an individual and related entities under New York's anti-SLAPP statute. The developer sued for damages, alleging the defendants interfered with a project by falsely testifying before the City Council and sending a disparaging letter to neighbors. The court found that these actions were protected under the anti-SLAPP law and the **Noerr-Pennington doctrine**, which shields a person's right to petition the government. Since the developer failed to show a substantial basis for its claims or evidence of actual malice, the court dismissed the case, and the defendants were awarded mandatory attorneys' fees …
