This pictorial presents an ethnographic account of community-based design observed in a historical urban adventure playground in Tokyo. Focusing on university student designers who also served as play leaders, we examine how they navigated tensions between initiating designed activities and supporting child-led play. Through field observations and interviews, we identify strategies such as concealing role shifts, reframing activities as everyday occurrences, and adopting a watching-over stance to maintain childrens autonomy. By highlighting how design is negotiated through subtle, relational, and situated practices, this work offers insight into the micro-politics of co-creation in informal settings. This study introduces the "Field Mailbox" and "Dialog Diorama" - two research artifacts designed to facilitate situated dialogues between owners and their everyday objects, exploring the design of personal, reflexive toolkits. Using LLM-based generative AI, the study progressively grants conversational agency to objects within a Research-through-Design approach. Field Mailbox facilitates slow, reflective engagement through postcard-based exchanges, while Dialog Diorama promotes real- time storytelling with RFID-enhanced props. Gongbi Artists' Acceptance Of Aigc: An Extended Tam Analysis With Qualitative And Quantitative Data, Yuhang Mao, Anthony Kong

Gongbi painting artists’ acceptance of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) through an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Using mixed methods (204 questionnaires and 15 interviews), we explored the effects of cultural adaptability, creative subjectivity, and ethical risk. Findings show that cultural adaptability significantly increases perceived usefulness and ease of use, while ethical risk negatively impacts adoption. Creative subjectivity strongly promotes willingness to use AIGC. However, perceived usefulness and ease of use do not directly affect intention. Results highlight the need for culturally sensitive AI design that balances tradition and innovation, while addressing ethical concerns.

This paper explores the design-led transformation of Kimu Design, a Taiwanese SME, through its participation in the Industrial Design-Driven Innovation (IDDI) initiative. Employing a single embedded case study and a mixed-methods approach—including structured surveys and semi-structured interviews—the research applies Maylor et al.'s Complexity Assessment Tool (CAT) to assess how public design programs influence innovation across structural, sociopolitical, and emergent dimensions. This study explores how generative AI (GAI) and humans interpret emotional meanings through color in cinematic visuals. Drawing from film color theory, we designed a set of mood palettes and applied them to keyframes generated by GAI. Using qualitative questionnaires, we compared emotional interpretations from human participants and GPT-4o. Results revealed overlapping but diverging perceptions: humans relied on narrative context and memory, while AI leaned on statistical associations. This survey targets graduates from the 2020–2024 Young Designers’ Exhibition, analyzing their employment status, salary levels, and the gap between academic training and industry demands. Results show that while some technical skills align with workplace needs, gaps remain in areas such as communication and collaboration, project management, interdisciplinary teamwork, AI integration, and sustainability trends. Most graduates believe that design education lacks dynamic adaptation, making it difficult to keep pace with rapid industry changes, thus increasing workplace adjustment pressure. This study investigates whether certain symbols can function as universal visual primitives to convey affirmation, negation, and warning without relying on language or context. Postgraduate design students in India created pictogram-based visual instructions for ibuprofen, from which 56 symbols were extracted and standardized in black and white. After refinement, 12 symbols were tested with 240 participants across diverse demographics using open-ended comprehension tests. The tick mark consistently conveyed affirmation, the cross (X) and diagonal slash inside a circle expressed negation, and the skull with crossbones effectively indicated warning. With children’s increasingly entangled relationships with technology, it is imperative for them to critically explore, reflect on, and envision how technology impacts them and society at large, now and in the future. We conducted a speculative filmmaking workshop with 9-10-year-old school children where participants worked in groups to envision the future of human-machine relationships, creating stop-motion animations showcasing their imagined futures. Analysis of the films highlights unexpected explorations of conflicts involving nature, alongside anticipated human-machine dynamics. This study explores the use of generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) in virtual sportscasting for grassroots baseball in Taiwan. It focuses on how AI-generated tone and real-time game data influence audience immersion, emotional engagement, and trust. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining surveys and Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA), with participants being parents from a youth baseball team in Hsinchu. Thirty-four ending notes were analyzed, and their entry items were organized into 25 categories. This study examined how different narrative perspectives in chatbot dialogues shape users’ identity perceptions and willingness to continue interaction. 86 participants interacted with a LINE BOT framed in first-, second-, or third-person voice during an 8-day academic task. Findings showed that the 1st- person perspective fostered more personalized identity projections—such as mentor, peer, or self— and encouraged longer engagement duration. The 3rd-person perspective, while emotionally distant, yielded the highest willingness to continue use, suggesting broader acceptability. This study aims to address common issues of low motivation and poor outcomes among design students in theoretical courses by introducing the "Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Model" (POGIL) into a human factors design course for instructional innovation. The participants were 44 design students at a university of technology, and the course lasted nine weeks. Amid the widely misunderstood textile waste crisis, this study explores how to raise awareness through accessible, play-based learning. During iterative workshops guided by the Stanford Design Thinking framework, participants designed educational board games, such as Aftermath, that positioned players as everyday stakeholders navigating real-world sustainability challenges. As the games evolved, so did their participants – shifting from passive learners to active co-creators in cycles of play, learning, empowerment. The Asia Design College Consortium (ADCC) proposes a regional framework to unite Asian design institutions through six interrelated pillars: partnerships, mobility, research, education, conferences, and publications. Inspired by Europe’s Erasmus Programme, ADCC adapts proven collaborative strategies to Asia’s diverse cultural contexts, integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary technologies. By facilitating student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and industry- academia collaborations, the consortium fosters ‘glocal’ innovation while preserving local identities. This study centers on micro-scale renovations at three historically significant Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) stations—Hsinchu, Chiayi, and Tainan. Employing a practice-based research framework and service design methodologies, the study addresses challenges in public transport spaces, including disorganized wayfinding and fragmented user experiences. Through on-site observation, journey mapping, modular prototyping, and institutional collaboration, a reversible, modular, and low-interference design strategy is proposed, implemented at key interaction points such as ticket counters, entrances, and food retail areas.
