A Corpus-Based Analysis Of The Verbs Rise And Raise, Donjete Latifaj, Nazlije Latifaj

The aim of this research was to explore the differences in the usage of the verbs "rise" and "raise" in their verb forms. This is a corpus-based study, conducted through both qualitative and quantitative methods, to provide a comprehensive analysis. The findings of this research were extracted from two major linguistic resources: the British National Corpus and the Corpus of Contemporary American English. Additionally, thirty third-year students participated in an online survey where they were tested on their ability to correctly choose between the two verbs. With a young population and widespread internet access, Kosovo presents a favorable media landscape for the development of 21st-century radio. However, most radio stations have not aligned their development with the concept that the future of radio is the internet, not on the internet. Exploring Interpretable Machine Learning For Modeling Nonlinear Dynamic Systems, Liron Morina, Rina Peja, Getoar Vranovci

This paper provides an analysis of the interpretable machine learning (IML) approach applied to various nonlinear dynamic systems. The study focuses on modeling the restoring force by neural networks with two input values: displacement and velocity. A parallel neural network with the proposed architecture, initialized randomly, mirrors the designed model. Both models undergo multiple training and testing cycles on identical datasets to ensure robust statistical validation. The findings demonstrate that interpretable artificial neural networks (ANNs) outperform randomly initialized models in terms of accuracy and result consistency. This paper focuses on investigating the frequency of modern neologisms with an extra-linguistic sources in Corpus of Contemporary American English, respectively the frequency and collocations of these neologisms in the mentioned corpus. A corpus investigation was undertaken: more than fifty neologisms were taken from the corpus. Judging from the data in this study, the analysis and comparisons seem to be exclusively informative and in some cases less common from a linguistic perspective. Fast food consumption has significantly increased, particularly in fast-paced cities like Prishtina. Hamburgers, one of the most consumed products in this industry, rely on ground beef, which poses notable food safety risks due to potential contamination and inadequate hygiene practices. The Mid-Southern Journal of Criminal Justice
This paper is an examination of intimate partner violence shelter websites identified by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) across six states to include North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. A sample of 217 websites were identified through the NCADV and analyzed with focus on what information they contained. There is significant variability between website content. Most shelter websites provide crisis hotline information, operating information or that they operate 24/7, but basic information like the cost of the shelter or if transportation is provided is not always available. This paper makes recommendations to shelters to provide …

Chronic prostate inflammation in patients with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) correlates with the severity of symptoms. How inflammation contributes to prostate enlargement and/or BPH symptoms and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we utilize a unique transgenic mouse model that mimics chronic non-bacterial prostatitis in men and investigate the impact of inflammation on androgen receptor (AR) in basal prostate stem cells (bPSC) and their differentiation in vivo. We find that inflammation significantly enhances AR levels and activity in bPSC. More importantly, we identify interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) as a crucial regulator of AR in bPSC during inflammation. …
