Assessment Of Breast Cancer Awareness Among Female University Students In Ajman, United Arab Emirates, Shatha S. Al-Sharbatti, Rizwana B. Shaikh, Elsheba Al-Biate, Mawahib A.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess female university students’ knowledge of breast cancer and its preventative measures and to identify their main misconceptions regarding breast cancer. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between April 2011 and June 2012 and included female students from three large universities in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE). A stratified random sampling procedure was used. Data were collected through a validated, pilot-tested, self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire included 35 questions testing knowledge of risk factors, warning signs and methods for the early detection of breast cancer. The purpose of this capstone was to raise awareness of the importance of implementing the Hmong culture into classrooms, especially due to many Hmong students’ lack of academic performance in schools. Hmong students have suffered tremendously in school due to language barriers and culture shock. The research involved interviewing a sample of Fresno County teachers and students. Fresno has the largest population of Hmong people in California. The results suggest that creating a diverse and comfortable environment for Hmong students requires incorporating their culture into classrooms by using icebreakers or teaching a whole unit about the Hmong people. For several years, states have grappled with the problem of cyberbullying and its sometimes devastating effects. Because cyberbullying often occurs between students, most states have understandably looked to schools to help address the problem. To that end, schools in forty-six states have the authority to intervene when students engage in cyberbullying. This solution seems all to the good unless a close examination of the cyberbullying laws and their implications is made. This Article explores some of the problematic implications of the cyberbullying laws. The aim of this study is to identify the difference for Anthropometric variety and physical test result between acceptance and non acceptance student. The researcher assumed that there was no significant differences between the anthropometric variety and physical test results. The researcher used comparative curriculum. The results shows that run 60 (2.60), run 540 (2.51), long jump (3.30), exercise belly (2.36), and push up (1.94) better than table value (1.64). While there was no BM (0.52), BT (0.06). but it was sigmficart difference in FM (8.82). The conclusion of the results include force and weak the difference between the tests. …

The research aimed to develop a factorial battery to measure the physical fitness competence required for the admission of female students to the College of Physical Education for Women, and to standardize this battery by establishing normative scores for the selected tests. The researcher employed the descriptive method using a survey approach. The research sample consisted of 103 first-year students from the College of Physical Education for Women at the University of Baghdad. Students' Experiences With Bilingual Counseling, Heather Trepal, Nathaniel Ivers, Anna Lopez

Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision

Multilingual diversity is increasing in the United States. In response, more counselors are providing bilingual counseling services. However, little is known about their experiences. This qualitative, phenomenological study examined six mental health counseling students' experiences with providing counseling services in a second language. Analyses revealed that, although unintentional, these students found their experience with bilingual counseling both challenging and connecting. Implications for counselor educators and supervisors are discussed.

Should college student-athletes receive a paycheck in addition to a scholarship? It has been a highly debated topic in recent years, and a court ruling this month could lead to a major paycheck for some graduating athletes in the near future. Former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon filed a suit against the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on behalf of Division I football and men’s basketball players, claiming that student-athletes should be entitled to money for the NCAA’s use of their names, images, and likenesses.

Happiness In Us Schools: Students’ Subjective Well-Being As A Part Of School Improvement Planning, Richard E. Cleveland

Leadership, Technology & Human Development: Faculty Presentations

This paper presentation will begin with a brief overview of United States’ public education school improvement policy, the School Improvement Plan (SIP), and the focus on school climate. Next, the presentation will provide participants with an understanding of subjective well-being and a review of the literature addressing subjective well-being (SWB). Results from a psychometric investigation of two instruments measuring subjective well-being (SWB) with elementary-aged children will then be presented. The presentation will conclude with recommendations for application within the educational environment and future research.
