I was in S. F. yesterday & sent you a lot of semi-edible knicknacks from Goldberg. & Tom sent you peaches. Your own are just beginning to ripen & are rather small, but the best of them will not seem worthless on the hot desert. We are on our way home. Camped here last night, this eve will camp at Redwood Meadows, & tomorrow expect to be in the Giant Forest. Next day will be spent in the glorious groves & then down to the lowlands & home.
I was not acquainted with the poor woman who fell from the dangerous cliffs of the Great Arroyo near our main camp at Funstan Camp. She was a teacher in the Berkeley High School, & fell in attempting an all but impossible short way to camp.

The F.s are all well. Buel finds his greatest pleasure in teasing me. He's a nice boy, at the "pin-feather age" according to Bro. Dick, but is an awful tease - something like Thos. R. in that respect. He calls me "Swiftwater Bill" - threatens dire things to my cats (I have two) puts salt in my coffee, steals my choicest food off my plate, and pours water over me.
