It is always a great pleasure to hear from you and your loyal friendship is one of the comforts of my life. You speak of your "Yosemite book." I hope it is coming on rapidly. You ought to make it the aim of your life to finish up what you have to say about the National Park and all that region. I mean the book we have all been talking about for …

Im so glad Stickeen is finished, and that you're coming back here soon now. As for money $75 will be plenty.
They all send kind regards to you and are glad to hear that you are coming soon.

Dear Mr. Muir:-
I had the pleasure of seeing an extremely Interesting photograph yesterday, which was taken by Mr. Herbert W. Gleason. It was entitled "John Muir and Stlckeen." I wonder whether you recall it. With this in my mind I am led to drop you a line in regard to the manuscript, as ws all are anxious to have the "adventure" put forth in permanent form. Were you able to get as far ahead on your literary work at the ranch as you hoped? …

Dear Bradley:

I'm glad to hear of your safe arrival home. You must come again and stay longer. Old friends on the three-score-and-ten boundary should make the most of each other before dark. I'm just finishing a little book that will probably be out next winter.
Good luck to you, and believe me, ever

Faithfully yours,
John Muir.

Dear Papa -

I got my cherries this afternoon - I had forgotten that such wonderful cherries grew, even on my trees. Oh they are so good, Ive been feasting ever since I got the box open. I took it first to Mr Van Dyke to see and eat some, then to Funks, and when I told them all that these great cherries came from my own trees they enjoyed them more than ever. The way you packed them they came through without a single bruised one - in fine shape.
Mary got home this afternoon …

The governors Conference was a most novel & notable affair & you may well be proud of it as your own invention whether you get credit for it or not - from the public. Nevertheless Pinchot deliberate acceptanc[e?] of the honor belonging to it without a word for you was distressingly mean & must prove a great trial to his many friends.
