The writer wishes to confess that this has been very difficult problem because certain factors in the overall picture of' the education of the Negro in the South make it almost impossible to rule out passion, not to mention subjectivity. In the responses of the students who filled out questionnaires have been found a number of answers that we should like to ignore. In about half of the instances these students have written, sometimes without invitation, their comments on the back of the mimeographed sheet.

Due to the unawareness of these contributions by the general public and the lack of historical facts in the Fort Hays Kansas State College library concerning these German-Russian colonies, the writer selected this thesis problem: "Religious and Educational Contributions of German-Russians to the Development of Rush and Ellis Counties, Kansas." In developing the thesis the following plan obtains: (a) a statement of facts concerning the German-Russian emigration to the State of Kansas. (b) the development of the seven original colonies: Liebenthal, Catherine, Victoria, Munjor, Pfeifer, Schoenchen, and Hays. (c) the contribution of each colony to the field of religion and …

He has the children in the time of their lives when their minds are eager and susceptible. A good catechist through his instruction lays a solid foundation for a congregation of staunch believers in future years. Good confirmation instruction makes the preaching more efficient, makes the work with troubled souls easier, and increases the spirit of love between pastor and catechumens. The purpose of this survey is to make a detailed inventory of the leisure time activities of the children of grades 4 to 8 inclusive, of sixteen school in the industrial area of South Side, Omaha, Nebraska, to ascertain how and where they spend their spare time. It aims also to discover what these children would like to do but do not do, together with the reasons therefore. This method provides an opportunity to study information which reflects the children's own point of view.

A Study Of One Method Of Drill As Related To Test Scores On 160 Terms In Eleventh Grade American History At South High School, Einar A. Lindberg

This study, based on 160 questions of the Pressey Tests includes two numerically equal groups of pupils of eleventh grade American history. Pupils of one group are paired with those of the other group on the basis of the Otis Self-Administering Tests of Mental Ability, Higher Examination. The two groups are designated "the experimental group" and the "control group". Both groups, covering the same material in American history, heard or read each of the 181 terms used in this study. The only known difference being that the experimental group was subjected to one method of drill on the terms, while …
