Fixation On A Beneficially Aroused Consciousness In The Game Situation, Contingent Upon Hypnosis, In Soccer Players, James Sanders

Student Work

The purpose of this research was to systematically regulate the sport arousal state of soccer players. Hypnosis viewed as an alternate state of consciousness was the vehicle to the beneficial sport arousal state. Once in an hypnotic state, a post hypnotic suggestion was utilized to reproduce that beneficial sport arousal state as players stepped upon the soccer field. The focus was two-fold: First, to determine whether or not a benefical sport arousal state could be attained within the hypnotic state; and secondly, wheather or not a beneficial sport arousal state could be reproduced by post-hypnotic suggestion for a game situation.

Spatial Perception As A Predictor Of Success In Higher Mathematics, Lou A. Rolen

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The problem of this study was to determine if spatial perception could be a predictor of success in higher mathematics. This study first showed correlations of the results of three spatial perception tests taken by high-school students with their final geometry grades. Structure of the Intellect-Learning Ability subtests CFS (cognition of figural systems) and CFT (cognition of figural transformations), as well as Differential Aptitude Tests-Space Relations subtest, were used. Correlations were then computed for high-school geometery grades with calculus I grades. Geometry thus was used as a bridge between spatial perception and calculus performance. Secondly, the investigator explored any difference …

Secular Contribution Of Religion To The Political Process: The First Amendment And School Aid, The , Louis J. Sirico Jr.

In this Article, I first develop the thesis and evaluate objections to it. I also relate it to the thinking of the Constitution's Framers. Modern Supreme Court cases on church and state then are reviewed in search of acknowledgement of the positive dimensions of church-state relations. I conclude by applying the thesis to cases dealing with government aid to church-related schools and their students.

Models For Determining Appropriate Caseload Size For Speech-Language Pathologists In Nebraska, Mary M. Tompkins Apr 1985

Models For Determining Appropriate Caseload Size For Speech-Language Pathologists In Nebraska, Mary M. Tompkins

Student Work

Appropriate caseload size is a problem that has faced speech-language pathologists in the schools (“Recommended Service Delivery”, 1983) since school speech services were initiated in 1910 (Weaver, 1956). Clinical programs in the schools are often mandated by the state agencies to serve high numbers of communicatively impaired students. The quality of clinical programs may be questionable when speech-language pathologists attempt to serve such large numbers of students.

A Comparison Of Administrator And Teacher Attitudes Toward The Concept Of Career Ladders For Teachers, Harlan C. Rimmerman

Student Work

Education, like any facet of the business world, has problems. Some of these problems, such as financial obligations, are major. Some, such as a lost library book, are minor. Regardless, there remains many problems. In today's educational society, the common perception is that teachers are happy when best left alone. However, there is a growing feeling that teachers feel very isolated, have no way of moving up the career ladder, and fear the process of supervision and evaluation. Chapman and Lowther, in their article "Teacher Satisfaction with Teaching," explained that "teachers want to learn and be motivated. We must increase …
