There has been a vast expansion of school education facilities in India since the launching of the First Five Year Plan in 1951. The findings of the All India Educational Surveys conducted periodically under the direction of the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). Government of India, have revealed that the benefits of this large-scale expansion of school facilities have not been so satisfactory as were expected; inequalities between different areas as well as between social groups in terms of access to school facilities have persisted. The purpose of the MARP was to develop, Implement, and evaluate a health promotion program for faculty, staff, and administration at Trenton State College during the 1989-1990 school year. This was completed with a pilot group and plans are to have a well-developed, more inclusive health promotion program in place by the 1990-1991 school year.

The population for this study was 33 participants in the experimental group and 32 people ln the comparison group. All of the individuals volunteered to be part of this study. There were eleven administrators, eleven faculty members, and eleven staff members in the experimental group. …

The purpose of this study was to compare teachers' perceptions of principal effectiveness in secondary schools nominated for the National Secondary School Recognition Program and a randomly selected sample of schools not nominated for the National Secondary School Recognition Program in Tennessee. Evaluation of principal effectiveness was based upon teachers' perceptions as measured by the Audit of Principal Effectiveness, (APE). The data were gathered by mail survey. The Audit of Principal effectiveness were sent to participating secondary schools in the state of Tennessee with enrollment of 1000 and more. A Comparison Of The Effectiveness Of Civilian Conservation Centers And Contract Centers From 1984 To 1988, Robert P. Slaughter

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the continuous instability of policy decisions relating to the effectiveness of Civilian Conservation Centers and Contract Centers was a result of measurable differences in performance between the two models. Six hypotheses tested differences between types of centers on six quantitative variables which were: average length of stay, job placement, hourly starting wages, educational gains in reading, math, and General Educational Development (GED). To investigate the problem, 30 Civilian Conservation Centers and 17 comparably sized Contract Centers were selected. The purpose of this Major Applied Research Project was to (1) conduct an investigation of students majoring in the industrial technology division to determine the forces which influence attrition and persistence; (2) design a retention program to counter Pie attrition problem; and (3) suggest an implementation plan to increase technology retention at Monroe County Community College. With an increasing attrition problem, decision makers at MCCC supported this study with the hope that a program could be developed to increase technology retention.

This dissertation explores the development of student- and process-centered writing classrooms within the context of a traditionally structured, curriculum-centered high school. The focus of the study is on how teachers and students experience and address contradictions between assumptions implicit in writing process pedagogy and assumptions implicit in the structure and organization of the high school.

An eight-month ethnography of two high school English classrooms, the study is a descriptive narrative of the classroom and school events punctuated by the reflective comments of teachers and students in intensive and extensive interviews. The Effect Of Multicultural Counseling Training On Multicultural Sensitivity Of Graduate Students, Lucy Fukasawa Field

This study was designed to investigate the effect of five weeks (45 hours) of multicultural counseling training on the multicultural sensitivity of graduate level students. The treatment group (12 students) received five weeks of intensive training designed to increase their awareness of multicultural issues and personal biases and limitations. The control group (13 students) did not receive multicultural training, but did receive experiential training, related to leadership roles, in small groups. The Cross-Cultural Adaptability Inventory (potential for cross-cultural effectiveness, Inventory of Cross-Cultural Sensitivity (level of cross-cultural sensitivity and experience) and 10 selected difficult critical incidents (ability to perceive cross-cultural interactions …
