Traditional Chinese Medicine And Healthcare Utilization In Bipolar Disorder: A Population-Based Study With Propensity-Matched And Mirror-Image Analyses, Shu-Ping Chen, Su-Tso Yang, Kai-Chieh Hu, Hui-Chih Chang, Jane Pei-Chen Chang, Kuan-Pin Su
BioMedicine
Background: Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic relapsing illness associated with high rates of acute psychiatric hospitalizations (APH) and emergency services (ES) use, placing burdens on healthcare systems. Many patients seek complementary modalities, including traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), alongside standard pharmacotherapy. However, population-based evidence regarding TCM’s effect on acute healthcare utilization in BD is lacking.
Methods: Using data from Taiwan’s Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000 (LHID 2000), this population-based study employed propensity score matching (PSM) based on age, gender, the index year (defined as the calendar year of the index date for TCM users and their matched nonTCM counterparts), and …

Background
Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is a common phenomenon that occurs after exercise training, resulting in pain and reduced muscle performance. Previous basic and animal studies have reported that oral use of Peony and Licorice Decoction (PLD), a traditional Chinese formula with anti-inflammatory and muscle-relaxing properties, may be safe and effective for DOMS. However, there have been no clinical studies, particularly on the topical use of PLD, in this field to date.
Material and Methods
Our study is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. We recruited healthy male athletes to assess the effect of external PLD, whose bioactive compounds were …

Intelligent Tools for Designing Operational Concepts: Intelligent Agents Innovating Mechanisms for Victory
If a large model is likened to a machine, interacting via conversation is akin to a worker manually operating that machine. Although machine tools have significantly reduced human workloads, “manual operation” still entails challenges: demanding skill requirements for operators; difficulty in resolving complex, specialized tasks through conversation alone; difficulty in standardizing and reusing repetitive workflows; susceptibility to hallucinations; and the time- and labor-intensive nature of verifying results. To this end, the Department of Theoretical Innovation Research has proposed a technical roadmap for programming large models. The underlying concept …

Implementation Of Medical Documentation Sign-In Sheets For Patient Evaluations And Treatments: A Quality Improvement Project, Madicyn Barnes, Beth Davis, Kaitlyn L. Holland, Zachary K. Winkelmann
Clinical Practice in Athletic Training
Context: Medical documentation of athletic training services at a large, public secondary school was limited to clinically significant or legally sensitive information entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) system. There are only 2 full-time athletic trainers (ATs) providing medical services to over 800 student-athletes across 45 different teams throughout the school year. Due to the large patient load, documentation is difficult to complete and, therefore, limited to the most “significant” information. The purpose of this quality improvement project was to improve medical documentation at this secondary school by implementing physical sign-in sheets in the athletic training facility (ATF) to …

Optimal Procedure For Measuring The Parameters Of Optical Signals Considering Noise, Yuriy Gennadyevich Shipulin, Azimjon Mamadaliyevich Xusanov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
It has been shown that to achieve the required level of measurement accuracy and reliability, it is necessary to transition from quality control of finished products to quality management based on cost-effective methods during the stages when product properties are formed. It is shown that the complexity of measuring optical signal parameters during analysis or synthesis requires them to be considered as part of a general information processing system. Based on the nonlinear filtration method, an optimal procedure for measuring a variable position in time against a background of spatial noise was obtained. Structural diagrams of optimal measuring instruments for …

Robust-Adaptive Estimation Of Unmeasurable States And External Disturbances Of A Dynamic Object Based On An Augmented Kalman Filter, Husan Igamberdiev, Uktam Farkhodovich Mamirov, Lu Liu, Bohong Wang, Bunyod Buronov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The paper addresses the problem of joint estimation of the directly unmeasurable states of a dynamic object and of external disturbances when information is available only on the control inputs and on the measured output signals. To solve this problem, a robust-adaptive algorithm based on an augmented Kalman filter is proposed, in which the external disturbance is included in the extended state vector. Two operating modes of the algorithm are considered. For slowly varying disturbances, a random-walk model with a constant process-noise covariance is used, whereas for rapidly varying inputs a signal adaptation driven by the normalized innovation is proposed. …

Modeling Of A Two-Stage Extractive Distillation Process For The Separation Of 1,3-Butadiene From Pyrolysis-Derived C₄ Fractions, Muxriddin Xudoyor Og‘Li Ibodullayev, Jonibek Farxod O‘G‘Li Norqulov, Olim Rustamovich Abduraxmonov, Orifjon Sharipovich Kodirov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The separation of 1,3-butadiene from pyrolysis-derived C₄ fractions represents a challenging task due to the multicomponent nature of the feed and the close boiling points of accompanying hydrocarbons. In this study, a two-stage extractive distillation process was investigated using an acetonitrile–water solvent system to address these challenges. A semi-industrial experimental unit consisting of two extractive distillation columns connected in series was developed and analyzed, and the process configuration was supported by Aspen Plus simulation. The feedstock composition was characterized in detail, revealing that 1,3-butadiene constitutes approximately 40 wt.% of the C₄ fraction, accompanied by significant amounts of propylene, butanes, butanes, …

Fast Algorithms For Combined Synthesis Of Dynamic Object Control Systems, Isomiddin Khakimovich Siddikov, Gulchexra Alimova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The paper considers the issues of combined synthesis of a control system for a nonlinear dynamic object. The combined synthesis algorithms are based on the hybrid application of the theory of ordinary differential equations in the Cauchy form and the theory of automatic control. In this case, the dynamics of the control system are described in the input-output representation and by state-space equations. Algorithms for solving stabilization problems, finite control, and the inverse dynamics problem are presented in explicit form. These algorithms are based on the concept of reducibility of a general Cauchy-form system to the block-canonical Frobenius form. The …
