Optimal Procedure For Measuring The Parameters Of Optical Signals Considering Noise, Yuriy Gennadyevich Shipulin, Azimjon Mamadaliyevich Xusanov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
It has been shown that to achieve the required level of measurement accuracy and reliability, it is necessary to transition from quality control of finished products to quality management based on cost-effective methods during the stages when product properties are formed. It is shown that the complexity of measuring optical signal parameters during analysis or synthesis requires them to be considered as part of a general information processing system. Based on the nonlinear filtration method, an optimal procedure for measuring a variable position in time against a background of spatial noise was obtained. Structural diagrams of optimal measuring instruments for …

Robust-Adaptive Estimation Of Unmeasurable States And External Disturbances Of A Dynamic Object Based On An Augmented Kalman Filter, Husan Igamberdiev, Uktam Farkhodovich Mamirov, Lu Liu, Bohong Wang, Bunyod Buronov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The paper addresses the problem of joint estimation of the directly unmeasurable states of a dynamic object and of external disturbances when information is available only on the control inputs and on the measured output signals. To solve this problem, a robust-adaptive algorithm based on an augmented Kalman filter is proposed, in which the external disturbance is included in the extended state vector. Two operating modes of the algorithm are considered. For slowly varying disturbances, a random-walk model with a constant process-noise covariance is used, whereas for rapidly varying inputs a signal adaptation driven by the normalized innovation is proposed. …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The separation of 1,3-butadiene from pyrolysis-derived C₄ fractions represents a challenging task due to the multicomponent nature of the feed and the close boiling points of accompanying hydrocarbons. In this study, a two-stage extractive distillation process was investigated using an acetonitrile–water solvent system to address these challenges. A semi-industrial experimental unit consisting of two extractive distillation columns connected in series was developed and analyzed, and the process configuration was supported by Aspen Plus simulation. The feedstock composition was characterized in detail, revealing that 1,3-butadiene constitutes approximately 40 wt.% of the C₄ fraction, accompanied by significant amounts of propylene, butanes, butanes, …

Fast Algorithms For Combined Synthesis Of Dynamic Object Control Systems, Isomiddin Khakimovich Siddikov, Gulchexra Alimova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The paper considers the issues of combined synthesis of a control system for a nonlinear dynamic object. The combined synthesis algorithms are based on the hybrid application of the theory of ordinary differential equations in the Cauchy form and the theory of automatic control. In this case, the dynamics of the control system are described in the input-output representation and by state-space equations. Algorithms for solving stabilization problems, finite control, and the inverse dynamics problem are presented in explicit form. These algorithms are based on the concept of reducibility of a general Cauchy-form system to the block-canonical Frobenius form. The …

Analysis Of The Throttle Settings Under Uncertain Information, Latafat Gardashova, Nihad Afandi
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
Although classical fuzzy logic controllers are capable of modelling non-linear control systems, they fail to consider the reliability of linguistic information, sensor measurements, and expert knowledge. In this paper, an intelligent controller based on the use of Z-numbers is developed for steam-turbine throttle control. Linguistic information and its confidence degree are considered simultaneously in such a controller. The temperature and pressure values are taken as input variables, while the throttle rotation is selected as the controller output variable. At first, the Z-number representation system is constructed to include the credibility of linguistic measurements and control rules. Then, a Mamdani Type-1 …

Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) is a medical condition that reduces the ability to distinguish certain colors and may occur due to genetic inheritance or acquired retinal damage. Drivers affected by CVD often experience difficulties at traffic light intersections because traffic signals rely entirely on color-based communication. Existing assistive systems mainly address this issue through audio feedback. However, audio-based solutions may perform poorly in noisy urban environments and are less effective for individuals with hearing impairments. The already existing assistive systems provide visual outputs in the dashboard that do not ensure all types of CVD drivers can see the visual output. …

As ship sizes continue to increase while channels and bridges remain largely unchanged, understanding realistic emergency maneuvering and stopping capabilities in confined waters has become increasingly important [\citealpbib1].
This paper presents a bridge simulator study to evaluate the emergency stopping distance of a large container vessel using anchors …
Informationally Complete Measurements In Quantum Theory: Implementation, Geometry, And Correlations, Sachin Gupta
Informationally Complete Measurements In Quantum Theory: Implementation, Geometry, And Correlations, Sachin Gupta
Graduate Doctoral Dissertations
Informationally complete measurements provide a bridge between the operational and geometric structure of quantum theory. They allow quantum states to be reconstructed from measurement probabilities. This thesis studies informationally complete measurements from two complementary perspectives: their physical implementation and their role in the probabilistic reconstruction of quantum theory.
The first part develops a symmetry-driven Naimark extension for rank-one Weyl- Heisenberg covariant Projective Operator-Valued Measures (POVMs) in arbitrary finite dimension. Since every element of such a POVM is generated from a single fiducial state by the Weyl-Heisenberg displacement operators, the full measurement inherits a strong covariance structure. We show that this …

The Experience Of Bipoc Participants In Wilderness Therapy, Rachel Esrig
The Experience Of Bipoc Participants In Wilderness Therapy, Rachel Esrig
Doctoral Dissertations
Wilderness therapy is an alternative to residential treatment for adolescents and young adults. Although these programs predominantly serve White-identifying individuals, a proportion of participants identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC). Research has shown that race and ethnicity shape individuals’ experiences with mental health treatment; however, no studies to date have specifically explored the experiences of BIPOC individuals in wilderness therapy programs. This qualitative study addresses that gap by examining the experiences of BIPOC individuals who participated in wilderness therapy during adolescence. Using an interpretive phenomenological approach, nine themes emerged from the data. Findings suggest that participants’ levels …
