Proof Of The Wave Function Identity, A New Symmetry Constraint For The Three-Electron Quantum Dot In A Magnetic Field And Ad Hoc Generalization To Bound Many-Electron Systems, Marlina Slamet, Viraht Sahni
Publications and Research
We prove the Wave Function Identity (WFI), a newly discovered property of solutions to the two-dimensional Schrödinger–Pauli equation for the 𝑁 = 3 electron Coulombically interacting harmonically bound ‘artificial atom’ or quantum dot in a uniform magnetic field. The symmetry is comprised of an interchange of the spatial coordinates of two electrons whilst keeping their spin moments unchanged, followed by an inversion of all three electron coordinates. The proof is achieved by first deriving the general form of the exact correlated wave function in the high-electron-correlation Wigner regime and then proving the WFI employing this form for a ground and …

Comparing Explanations Of Employees’ Brand Citizenship Behavior And Negative Word Of Mouth, Sang Bong Lee, Steven Liu, Carl Maertz
Comparing Explanations Of Employees’ Brand Citizenship Behavior And Negative Word Of Mouth, Sang Bong Lee, Steven Liu, Carl Maertz
International Journal of Applied Management and Technology
A gap remains in the literature regarding the relative and incremental contributions of constructs derived from distinct theoretical perspectives in predicting brand citizenship behavior (BCB) and employee negative word of mouth (NWOM). Using two surveys of 304 Korean employees conducted one week apart, this study compared perceived organizational support (POS), horizontal and vertical collectivism, and impression-management motives. Structural equation modeling linked POS negatively to NWOM and horizontal collectivism positively to BCB; other focal paths were nonsignificant. POS had a significantly more negative NWOM path than other predictors, whereas BCB paths did not differ significantly. Supplementary composite-score regressions showed significant incremental …

Understanding Antimicrobial Peptide Activation In Mesenchymal Stem Cells Through The Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Pathway And Inflammatory Signals, Cansu Özdemi̇r Saka, Beyza Turgut, Ceren Tuncay, Cemi̇l Can Eylem, Emi̇rhan Nemutlu
Turkish Journal of Biology
Background/aim: Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are small peptides involved in host defense and have been widely studied for their roles in innate immunity against microbial pathogens. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which provide stromal support in tissues such as bone marrow, are also capable of secreting AMPs, although the signaling pathways controlling this function remain unclear. The present study investigates the role of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) signaling, a xenobiotic response pathway, in AMP production by MSCs.
Materials and methods: To assess AMP activation, human MSCs were stimulated with the agonist FICZ and antagonist SR1. TNF-α + IL-1β and LPS were …

In consolidated Small Claims actions, the court holds that a prime tenant who sublet an illegal basement apartment (no CO) is barred from collecting rent under MDL § 302(1)(b). The sublease was also independently void because the prime tenant's lease expressly excluded the basement, leaving him no possessory interest to convey. The prime tenant is ordered to return the security deposit for failure to comply with GOL § 7-108 itemization requirements, but is awarded damages for unpaid electricity.

Attacks On Merchant Vessels Under The Law Of Economic Naval Warfare And Protection Of The Marine Environment: Lessons From The Russia-Ukraine War And The U.S.-Iran War, Alexander Lott
International Law Studies
This article examines the legality of attacks on merchant vessels during international armed conflicts, using reported Russian, Ukrainian, Iranian, and United States attacks between 2022 and 2026 as case studies. It evaluates belligerent rights to visit and search, divert, seize, disable, or, exceptionally, destroy merchant vessels under customary law. Drawing primarily on State practice, the study compares Russia’s blockade of Ukraine, Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States’ blockade of Iran. The emerging concept of a de facto blockade and its fusion with warning zones creates legal uncertainty and undermines humanitarian protection.
The legality of Iranian …

Showing Students Their Power: Demonstrating How Status Is Afforded In Interactions, Christianne Corbett
Feminist Pedagogy
The Showing Students their Power original teaching activity conveys to students in a visceral, embodied – and therefore hopefully memorable - way the concept of status, how it is afforded by others, and how quickly and accurately individuals perceive the status with which others view them. Students are informed that characteristics like gender, race, class, sexual orientation are status characteristics and that people who are viewed as lower status tend to be treated less respectfully. By identifying the existence of status, how it is conveyed from person to person, and the power we all have to influence other people, students …

An Occupational Revolution: Reclaiming What Matters, Carol Lambdin-Pattavina, Wendy B. Stav, Nicole Quint, Sandee M. Dunbar
The Open Journal of Occupational Therapy
Intentional use of the word occupation to describe why, what, and how we do as occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants is central to maintaining our professional identity and to centering occupation in everyday practice. Throughout occupational therapy's history, using occupation, as opposed to words such as task or activity, has fallen both in and out of favor in practice and education in the United States. Some argue that task and activity, while not reflective of the nuances of the word occupation, including meaning and purpose, are more accessible to external audiences than occupation, which is often confused with …

A DOB violation for illegal use of two first-floor apartments as medical offices — in violation of the building's certificate of occupancy — barred the landlord from maintaining this nonpayment proceeding. The Appellate Term reversed the Housing Court's denial of tenant's summary judgment motion, holding that MDL § 302(1)(b) bars a landlord from recovering rent or maintaining a nonpayment proceeding for any period of noncompliance. The violation's post-commencement resolution did not permit the proceeding to continue; summary judgment for tenant was required and the proceeding was dismissed.

App Div 1st modified a substitution order in a rent overcharge action by directing that the new building owner be joined as an additional defendant rather than substituted for the original. Substitution under CPLR 1021 was prejudicial to tenants because it would require obtaining discovery from the former owner — alleged to have engaged in fraudulent IAI-based deregulation — as a nonparty, impeding the ability to prove knowing fraud. Carryover liability under RSC § 2526.1(f)(2)(i) prevents current owners from evading predecessors' overcharge liability, but joinder under CPLR 1018 preserves both defendants in the action.
