Chia Seed Gel Powder As A Clean-Label Enhancer Of Texture, Physicochemical Quality, Antioxidant Activity, And Prebiotic Function In Probiotic Low-Fat Yogurt, Mahmoud E. A. This study evaluated the effect of incorporating chia seed gel powder (CSGP) as a natural, clean-label stabilizer on the physicochemical, functional, microbiological, microstructural, antioxidant, and sensory properties of probiotic low-fat yogurt (PLFY) during 21 days of refrigerated storage. Six formulations were prepared using 0–2.5% CSGP, including Control (0% CSGP), YOG1 (0.5% CSGP), YOG2 (1.0% CSGP), YOG3 (1.5% CSGP), YOG4 (2.0% CSGP), and YOG5 (2.5% CSGP). Results showed that increasing CSGP levels noticeably enhanced the total solids, protein content, viscosity, hardness, and water-holding capacity of the PLFY (p < 0.05), while consistently reducing syneresis. Antioxidant activity also rose with higher CSGP concentrations, with YOG5 exhibiting the greatest DPPH scavenging activity (35.12%). Confocal laser scanning microscopy revealed a denser and more uniform protein network in PLFY fortified with CSGP, consistent with rheological measurements showing increased storage (G′) and loss (G″) moduli. Probiotic viability significantly increased (p < 0.05) in CSGP-added samples, indicating a potential prebiotic effect of CSGP. Sensory results demonstrated that although higher CSGP levels slightly darkened the yogurt color, body, texture, flavor, and total sensory scores improved markedly, with YOG5 gaining the highest total score (81.77). The results demonstrate that CSGP acts as a highly effective, multifunctional ingredient that enhances texture, stability, probiotic viability, and antioxidant capacity, making it a strong clean-label candidate for developing high-quality, functional probiotic low-fat yogurt.

This study addresses the evidentiary value of the decision to dismiss a criminal case and its effect on administrative disciplinary authority under Omani and Egyptian legislation, given that this issue represents an intersection between the rules governing disciplinary liability and those governing criminal liability. The study concludes that the dismissal decision constitutes a judicial act that acquires a temporary res judicata effect, which prevents reopening the investigation regarding the same facts and the same individual unless new evidence emerges. Despite the judicial nature of the dismissal decision, the general rule is the independence of disciplinary and criminal liabilities. Consequently, the …

In this colloquium, we will present six years of collaborative research on approximations of practice in mathematics teacher education, exploring how these approximations shape teacher preparation and addressing issues of equity and authenticity in instructional design. Foci include past findings, current challenges, and future directions, drawing from the recently published book edited by the colloquium leaders: Promoting Equity in Approximations of Practice for Mathematics Teachers. Participants will engage in critical conversations on bridging research and practice, with opportunities to join ongoing collaborations.

Mathematics teachers have the power and responsibility to center equity in their teaching practices. Yet their framings and mindsets about equity can impact whether and how they use equitable teaching practices. In this manuscript, we describe how secondary mathematics teacher candidates responded to two equity vignettes focused on (1) gender identity and (2) race and tracking. We wrote these vignettes to expose candidates to situations they may encounter and decisions they may need to make as mathematics teachers. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Liver transplantation is considered the definitive treatment for HCC; however, in Indonesia, adult liver transplantation is still rarely performed due to donor limitations and high costs. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has therefore become a preferred therapeutic option in the management of HCC. Nurses are the frontline of healthcare services and have faced increasing work pressure during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, nurse loyalty becomes a crucial factor for the sustainability of healthcare organizations. This study aims to analyze the influence of ethical leadership on employee loyalty by examining the mediating roles of psychological contract and work-family conflict. A total of 145 nurses participated in this study. Data were analyzed using a quantitative approach through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of Lisrel 8.80. This study examined how community-based practitioners implement public health interventions in practice settings to identify gaps between existing implementation frameworks and real-world practice. Six farmers' markets in Southeast Texas served as cases to understand implementation decision-making by community-based practitioners addressing food access challenges. A qualitative case study approach was employed, using semi-structured interviews with program adopters and key stakeholders to examine how practitioners addressed food access problems, selected interventions, and navigated implementation decisions. This methodology captured the contextual nature of implementation decision-making in community settings.
