Cybercrime Regulations In The National Criminal Code, Josua Sitompul

Indonesia Law Review

In early 2023, Indonesia promulgated the National Criminal Code, which will be effectively enforceable in 2026. The promulgation is considered a historical milestone in the development of Indonesia’s criminal law that has strategic consequences for the criminal justice system in Indonesia. This new code repeals criminal provisions from 29 different acts, including the Electronic Information and Transactions Act (EIT Act). Policymakers inserted and developed new concepts into the new code, one of which is the concept of cybercrime. Employing a doctrinal legal research method, this article analyses the approaches used in the new code to regulate cybercrime. The results showed …

This article addresses the legal basis of legitimate interests for the processing of personal data in the region of the Middle East. Three categories of countries emerge after the survey of selected data protection laws in the region: jurisdictions that explicitly enacted the legitimate interests as a lawful ground for the processing of personal data, those that established a variant of ‘legitimate rights’, and those that omitted the concept of legitimate interests entirely. Introduction: Vertex epidural hematomas (VEDH) involving the superior sagittal sinus (SSS) are rare, critical injuries often complicated by massive venous hemorrhage. This study evaluates the clinical outcomes of VEDH and identifies systemic barriers contributing to treatment delays in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Methods: We present a case series of three patients managed at an Indonesian tertiary center alongside a scoping review of 33 studies. Unlike traditional single indicators such as inflation or interest rates, which capture only partial outcomes, the MPEI integrates five key dimensions: price stability, output responsiveness, transmission effectiveness, financial depth and inclusion, and institutional credibility. This multidimensional approach reflects the real policy trade-offs and constraints of developing economies. This study empirically tested the hypothesis that external debt servicing leads to debt accumulation using Nigeria as case study. The method employed combines logic and debt stock variation analysis. Results indicate that Nigeria has served interest on its external debt only to see its external debt stock increasing confirming the hypothesis. A reform is needed to enable the country retain the domestic income lost to international speculative capital to boost government revenue. A sovereign agency to intermediate between the indebted residents, exporters, and the banking system can be created to solve the problem.

This paper examines the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) liquidity management framework over a period marked by aggressive monetary tightening in response to persistent inflationary pressures. The analysis suggested that despite sustained sterilisation efforts through CRR debits and open market operations (OMO), liquidity surpluses persisted, driven largely by autonomous factors such as fiscal injections, maturing OMO bills, and foreign exchange interventions. The resulting structural liquidity surpluses periodically weakened the alignment between short‐term interest rates and the policy corridor, highlighting operational frictions and transmission inefficiencies. Managing speed limits in adverse weather is crucial for highway safety. Variable Speed Limit systems aim to adjust speed limits according to weather conditions, yet many traffic management centers depend on manual operator judgment. Rapid visibility fluctuations, along with operators handling multiple responsibilities, can cause delays in responding to deteriorating conditions, increasing the risk of rear-end collisions. A VSL control strategy is developed using real-time Road Weather Information System data to enable more proactive and effective adjustments. Modern DRAM scaling has reduced cell capacitance and increased thermal sensitivity, making disturbance-based faults such as RowHammer and RowPress increasingly significant reliability and security concerns. RowHammer induces bit flips through repeated row activations, while RowPress does so by holding a wordline open for an extended duration; both exploit inherent capacitive coupling and leakage mechanisms in dense DRAM arrays. This thesis introduces HeatHammer, a thermally assisted disturbance exploit that interleaves RowPress and RowHammer operations to amplify charge leakage and trigger row-traversing bit flips. Yield stress measurement in non-Newtonian fluids, particularly under complex flow conditions such as equibiaxial elongation, remains a significant challenge in experimental rheology. This work presents the development of a novel method, Continuous Lubricated Squeezing Flow (CLSF), designed to quantify the normal yield stress of viscoelastic materials while minimizing boundary artifacts.

The CLSF method was implemented and validated using Carbopol 940, a model yield-stress gel, at concentrations of 1 wt% and 2 wt%. Aerated stabilization basins (ASBs) play a crucial role in treating their wastewater, yet existing open-source models often fail to accurately predict treatment efficiency across varying conditions. This study addresses this gap by advancing ASB modeling for ultimate oxygen demand prediction. Specifically, we improved accuracy with variable temperature corrections and incorporating uncertainty to capture the variability in outputs. Reliable assessment of prognosis after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is essential to inform clinical decision-making and prevent premature assumptions of poor outcome. The enhanced SAH (eSAH) score combines three routinely available variables-age, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), and subarachnoid hemorrhage blood volume (SAHV)-to provide an objective framework for early outcome stratification. SAHV is estimated using the ABC/2-derived ellipsoid method applied across five major cisternal compartments on non-contrast CT. This study examines the relationship between central bank supervision stringency and bank stability in Tanzania, focusing on 45 licensed banks. Specifically, it assesses the influence of regulatory capital stringency, loan loss provisioning stringency, and loan diversification stringency on bank stability. Guided by Agency Theory and Credit Risk Management Theory, the study adopts a quantitative research design. Primary data were collected using structured questionnaires administered to 225 bank employees, including credit, finance, internal audit, risk, compliance, and human resource officers.
