This review explored the pathogenic microbes associated with common edible insects. With rising human populations and fluctuating food supplies, edible insects offer a rich source of protein, vitamins, and minerals and are culturally accepted in many regions. Despite their nutritional benefits, knowledge on microbial hazards associated with edible insects is fragmented. The review focuses on commonly consumed species, including Tenebrio molitor, Zophobas morio, Acheta domesticus, Gryllus bimaculatus, Locusta migratoria, Ruspolia differens, Bombix mori, Bunaea alcinoe, and Oryctes monoceros. A total of 43 pathogenic bacteria and 20 pathogenic fungi linked to these edible insect species were identified. The most frequently reported …

The project of decolonising knowledge has gained renewed prominence as scholars confront enduring epistemic injustices and structural inequalities embedded in global systems of knowledge production. Situated within long-standing anticolonial and postcolonial intellectual struggles, this article interrogates key conceptual dilemmas that continue to shape contemporary debates on decoloniality. Adopting a commentary orientation, it examines what it means to decolonise knowledge by engaging the historical foundations of decolonial thought alongside contemporary critiques that expose the persistence of epistemic hierarchies within modern academic institutions. This article seeks to understand the continuity and change in relations between the state and street vendors under the late President of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli (November 2015–March 2021). BACKGROUND: Regenerative and wellness medicine is rapidly reshaping health care, particularly in the management of degenerative spine conditions. Currently, research on the relationship between metres (chandas) and literary sentiments (rasa) in classical Sanskrit poetry is quite meagre. This research aims to investigate the application of metres for sentimental purposes in Sanskrit play entitled Ratnāvalī of King Śrī Harṣa Vardhana. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) represent one of the most pervasive and costly occupational health challenges worldwide. Affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, joints, and supporting blood vessels, these conditions arise from a complex interplay of physical, psychosocial, organizational, and individual risk factors present across diverse work environments. From factory floors and construction sites to offices and healthcare settings, WMSDs contribute substantially to pain, disability, reduced productivity, absenteeism, and diminished quality of life. This paper presents a Fuzzy-SPT (Fuzzy Set-Point Tracking) controller designed to combine the strengths of FLC (Fuzzy Logic Control) and PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control while mitigating their limitations across varying operating conditions. Inspired by state-dependent reasoning but implemented within a single controller, the method uses internal logic to adapt the control effort across different operating regions. FLC handles rapid changes and nonlinear transients, enabling fast system response without overshoot, while PID-like integral action is activated when the FLC reaches steady state or enters a threshold region near the set point, eliminating residual errors and maintaining stable performance. Despite its practical significance, existing methodologies often suffer from a reliance on single-stream skeletal representations, which fail to encompass the full complexity of action features. This study introduces Latent Features for Human Action Recognition (LFHAR), a novel architecture designed to overcome these limitations by utilizing diverse spatio-temporal latent representations for improved feature extraction. This approach is particularly relevant given the increased requirements for safety, productivity, and reliability of industrial facilities, as human factors are often the main cause of accidents (up to 60-80% of cases). The article examines modern approaches to modernizing vegetable oil refining processes from the perspective of increasing energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and final product quality. Traditional and innovative technologies are analyzed, with a focus on the implementation of membrane filtration, automated control systems, heat exchange complexes, and renewable energy sources. It has been shown that the use of intelligent control systems, high-precision membrane filters, and heat regeneration allows for a 25% reduction in energy consumption, a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and a significant improvement in acidity, color, and impurity content in the product. The purpose of this research is to determine whether retinal vasculatures differ between participants with schizophrenia spectrum disorder (SSD) and controls. Ninety participants (51 SSD, mean age 35.8 ± 13.5, and 39 controls, mean age 35.5 ± 11.4) underwent 3 × 3 mm2 macular and 6 × 6 mm2 optic nerve head (ONH) optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) scans. OBJECTIVE: Including conditions like obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome disrupts metabolic homeostasis and impairs recovery, increasing the risk of surgical complications. This study evaluates the impact of metabolic syndrome on spine surgery outcomes, addressing inconsistencies in the existing literature.

METHODS: Four databases were searched until December 2024 for studies comparing the postoperative complication rates of spine surgeries between patients with and without metabolic syndrome. Following deduplication, 2 authors independently reviewed the studies. For each included study, demographics and incidence rates of postoperative complications were extracted separately by 2 authors. Data analysis was performed using R.

This study builds a mesoscale finite element simulation to examine how internal stresses form during additive metal manufacturing using directed energy deposition. The goal is to track how heat and stress develop layer by layer and determine where a failure criterion could appear during the print. The model uses temperature-dependent material properties for Inconel 718 and a moving heat source defined with custom G-code.

Text summarization models have achieved significant growth during the last few years because of major Large Language Model (LLM) technological advancements. The application of LLMs are widely used in news distribution (TL;DR news), translation tools (DeepL Translate), or virtual assistants (ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Claude, etc.).
