This study examines the economic analysis and profitability of honey production and marketing in Cross River State, Nigeria, over 5 years (2017-2021) for sustainable forest management. Six hundred and eighty-four (684) respondents were selected from three ecological zones in the state using …

A Review On Wolbachia- A Viable Alternative To Control Aedes-Born Arboviral Diseases, Fatima Khizar, Iqra Mushtaq, Hafsa Masud, Muhammad Sajjad Sarwar

Journal of Bioresource Management

The endemic geographic ranges of mosquitoes are expanding due to various anthropogenic activities including rapid international travel and trade, urbanization, deforestation, and global warming. Hence, Aedes-borne arboviral diseases like dengue, chikungunya, yellow fever, or Zika infections would cause severe future outbreaks in non-endemic regions of the world. This threat to global public health highlights an urgent need for the development of efficient and effective mosquito control strategies. To date, a large number of mosquito vector-control strategies have been developed. Each of them has its strengths and weaknesses but the use of intracellular, endosymbiotic reproductive parasitic bacteria named Wolbachia pipientis …

High-Frequency Gold Price Forecasting: Optimizing Multi-Layer Perceptron With Genetic Algorithm, Vrtagic Sabahudin, Fatih Dogan

Materials Science and Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works

Accurately forecasting gold price actions is critical in financial markets due to gold's role as a safe-haven asset. This paper addresses the challenge of forecasting gold prices by applying a Genetic Algorithm (GA) with a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) model. The research exploits historical financial data from various instruments, including gold futures, Bitcoin, and key currency pairs, to improve prediction accuracy. By optimizing the MLP's hyper parameters through GA, the model efficiently captures complex relationships in high-frequency data, achieving a remarkable R² score of 0.9993. This level of precision demonstrates the model's potential for providing actionable insights for traders and investors. …

Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development

Jakarta, Indonesia's bustling capital, is grappling with escalating air pollution levels attributed to a confluence of socio-economic and infrastructural factors. This study employs Vensim modelling to project PM2.5 pollution trends through 2040, analysing the dynamic interplay among major contributors: increased vehicular emissions, industrial activities, public transportation deficiencies, and waste management inefficiencies. Materials and Methods: The method that will be used in this air pollution analysis is to integrate empirical data spanning three years to construct a predictive model underpinned by a robust causal loop diagram that elucidates the relationships between system variables and air quality. The results of this paper …

Legal Provisions And Administration Of Land Disputes In Kiteto District, Ca. 1970s – 2000s: The Missing Linkage, Juma Marmo

Zamani: A Journal of African Historical Studies

There have been a series of legal interventions on land use in the post-colonial Tanzania to create a good land administration and management in order to end land use conflicts. Scholarship on the legal aspect of land use indicates that legal interventions did not provide lasting solutions to land use conflicts because of their structural and systemic arrangements. In addition, existing scholarship has little focus on the linkage between law enforcement machinery, the peoples’ level of understanding on land laws, and the occurrence of land use conflicts. This paper discusses the violation of laws by peasants, pastoralists, and government officials …

The Homecoming Readings On Theater Inside Syria, Mona Merhi

Regards

This research focuses on theater inside Syria during the decade following the Syrian revolution. It examines the theatrical aesthetics of prominent experiences while attempting to understand the impact of everyday life challenges and the internal conflicts on Syrian theater. I argue that similar challenges may create post-conflict theatrical forms that are informed by a certain sense of allegiance to the city and the art form of the stage. While borrowing Diana Taylor’s concept of multiple allegiances and strategies of doubling and staying the same, the present scholarship looks into the decision of staying inside Syria as both an aesthetic framework …
