The thesis proposes an analysis of the perception that the French colonizers had towards the bodies of black women in France, women from northern Africa, and women from western Africa. Then, the work evaluates how this perception manifests in current French and francophone media. Furthermore, it traces how much influence these perceptions have on the depiction and representation of African female bodies. This influence could manifest as a reinforcement or an opposition to colonial perceptions.

The Thracians are a well-attested part of the Alexander’s army in Asia. But when, exactly, did they appear in the king’s force? The question is prompted by the story of Timokleia of Thebes, which is found in Plutarch (Alex. 12; De mul. virt. 24) and Polyainos (8.40) and happens to be the only source for Thracian presence in the Macedonian army before the Hellespont. During the Macedonian destruction of Thebes in summer 335, Timokleia is raped by a Thracian or a leader of the Thracians. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the research and development of hybrid airships for various applications. Airship design involves multiple design parameters from various disciplines that interact mutually. Existing design methodologies, however, are often limited to fixed shapes and geometry. This paper provides a comprehensive parametric design approach for the sizing of multi-lobed hybrid air vehicles for low- and high-altitude applications. Constance Ashton Myers was a historian, author, and professor born in 1927 affectionately known to her family and friends as Connie. During the 1970s, Myers traveled around the United States and interviewed Suffragettes and other women and recorded their interviews. Oxygen is the most used drug in anaesthesia. Despite such widespread use, optimal perioperative oxygen administration remains highly controversial because of concerns about the competing harms of both hyperoxia and hypoxia. Notwithstanding a Cochrane review concluding that routinely administering a fractional inspired oxygen concentration (FiO₂) >0.6 intraoperatively might increase postoperative morbidity and mortality, the World Health Organization (WHO) currently recommends all anaesthetised patients receive 0.8 FiO₂ during and immediately after surgery to reduce surgical site infections. Results from the largest trial available at the time of these two reviews (suggesting long-term survival may be worse with high …

The Warfield Cycle: Dylan's Mystery Plays, San Francisco, November 1980, Graley Herren

This chapter studies a series of concerts Dylan performed at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco in November 1980. After several concert tours devoted solely to his new Christian music, Dylan began playing some of his older secular music again, trying to integrate these two strands of his music. This chapter examines Dylan's song cycles like a series of medieval mystery plays, emphasizing themes of reconciliation, collaboration, and communal renewal.

Throughout his career, Eugene O’Neill wrote plays with strong and compelling female characters which have earned him much recognition. O’Neill’s ability to perceivably tap into a humans’ psyche and portray the deep desires of humanity was done to an extent rarely portrayed on the stage before; especially giving such complex characteristics to women, which was unconventional and unexpected for his time. Connectedness To Others Through Virtual Social Music Improvisation, Jody Webb

This mixed methods action research intervention study analyzed the influence of social music improvisation (SMI) on students' behaviors and perceptions of their connectedness to others in a virtual middle school classroom setting. Nine 10-minute SMI sessions allowed for the accumulation of data, with two additional pre-sessions being informative and exploratory to describe the SMI intervention and practice its aspects with participants in the intervention group. This study acquired pretest and posttest data from the Hemingway Measure of Adolescent Connectedness (Karcher, 2005) and observational information through process coding and field notes. การศึกษาครั้งนี้ศึกษาพัฒนาการเปลี่ยนแปลงบนถนนพระรามสี่ที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อชุมชน และทัศนคติระดับครัวเรือนต่อผลกระทบทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ในระยะก่อนและหลังปี 2565 โดยศึกษาชุมชนแออัดในระยะ 1 กิโลเมตรจากถนนพระรามสี่ จำนวน 2 แห่ง คือ ชุมชนพัฒนาบ่อนไก่ และชุมชนพระเจน เขตปทุมวัน กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยใช้การศึกษาแบบย้อนหลัง (Retrospective study) และการวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน เก็บข้อมูลโดยการวิเคราะห์เอกสาร แบบสอบถาม จำนวน 80 ชุด และการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างกับตัวแทนครัวเรือน นักวิชาการ และตัวแทนเจ้าหน้าที่รัฐ การศึกษาพบว่าการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน ระบบขนส่งมวลชน และโครงการพัฒนาเมือง ส่งผลให้เกิดการเข้าถึงพื้นที่ และการเพิ่มขึ้นของมูลค่าที่ดิน ซึ่งสร้างทั้งประโยชน์และแรงกดดันทางเศรษฐกิจต่อผู้อาศัยในชุมชนแออัด การเปลี่ยนแปลงและผลกระทบบางประการสามารถสังเกตเห็นได้ชัด เช่น การเปลี่ยนแปลงลักษณะทางกายภาพ ในขณะที่การเปลี่ยนแปลงย้ายเข้าออกของคนดั้งเดิม หรือเศรษฐกิจชุมชนดำเนินไปอย่างค่อยเป็นค่อยไป ทั้งนี้สภาพแวดล้อมชุมชนที่เปลี่ยนแปลงที่เร็วกว่าภายในชุมชน รวมถึงเงื่อนไขการพัฒนาที่อยู่อาศัยได้ส่งผลให้เกิดข้อจำกัดในการขยับฐานะทางเศรษฐกิจ ส่งผลให้ครัวเรือนในชุมชนทั้งสองแห่งได้รับผลกระทบด้านความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจ อย่างไรก็ตามตัวแทนครัวเรือนทั้งสองแห่งยังมีทุนทางสังคมอยู่มาก ข้อเสนอแนะต่อการจัดการผลกระทบ พบว่า การพัฒนาเมืองควรมีกระบวนการทำความเข้าใจและออกแบบร่วมกันระหว่างผู้อาศัยในชุมชน และผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย โดยคำนึงถึงเงื่อนไขของครัวเรือนที่อาศัยในชุมชน ภาครัฐควรส่งเสริมและจัดให้มีการคุ้มครองทางสังคมที่ส่งเสริมความเข้มแข็งทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของครัวเรือนในชุมชน รวมถึงทบทวนการจัดเก็บภาษีที่ดินและสิ่งปลูกสร้างที่ส่งผลให้เกิดภาระภาษีที่อยู่อาศัยแก่ผู้เช่าอาศัยในชุมชน

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งเน้นการสร้างบทละครเพลงเพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจของผู้ใกล้ชิดต่อผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้า โดยผู้วิจัยเลือกการนำเสนอผ่านรูปแบบละครเพลงและการเล่าเรื่องผ่านหลายตัวละคร ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการศึกษาข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโรคซึมเศร้าผ่านหนังสือ เอกสารวิชาการ และการสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญและผู้มีประสบการณ์ร่วมจากนั้นจึงนำมาสกัดเพื่อออกแบบตัวละครและโครงเรื่อง โดยผู้วิจัยเน้นการเล่าเรื่องราวผ่านตัวละครหลักที่เป็นคนใกล้ชิดผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าสี่คน ที่มีสถานะความสัมพันธ์ต่อผู้ป่วยต่างกัน อาทิ คนรัก พ่อ แม่ พี่น้อง เพื่อนำเสนอมิติที่หลากหลายของคนใกล้ชิดผู้ป่วย บทละครในงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ถูกจัดแสดงในชื่อ Spotlight on sunset โดยมีการเก็บข้อมูลผ่านแบบสอบถามจากผู้ชมทั่วไป และการเสวนาร่วมกับผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านศิลปะการละครและด้านจิตเวชศาสตร์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าบทละครสามารถทำให้ผู้ชมเกิดความเข้าใจต่อผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้ามากขึ้นได้ผ่านการถ่ายทอดโดยตัวละครและการดำเนินเรื่องรวมถึงเนื้อหาในบทเพลง แต่ผู้วิจัยยังไม่สามารถใช้วิธีเล่าเรื่องผ่านตัวละครหลักหลายตัวได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพทำให้มุมมองของผู้ชมยังคงอยู่กับตัวผู้ป่วยมากกว่าที่จะติดตามตัวละครคนใกล้ชิดดังที่ผู้วิจัยต้องการ นอกจากนี้การใช้บทเพลงที่มากเกินไปและเล่าใจความเดิมซ้ำ ๆ ก็ทำให้ละครมีความยาวมากจนอาจทำให้ผู้ชมหลุดออกจากเรื่องได้

This study aimed to determine land use compatibility guidelines for vertiports, which are locations where vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft operate. The study employed a three-round e-Delphi panel to establish vertiport land use compatibility zones and standards. The results reached a consensus of at least 70%, providing comprehensive land use compatibility recommendations for vertiports. The study provides a foundation for vertiport land use compatibility planning, ensuring the integration of vertiports in existing communities. งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและสังเคราะห์กระบวนการการกำกับการแสดงละครเวทีแนวสุขนาฏกรรมแนวเสียดสีเรื่อง ยัวร์ซิสเตอร์ฮัสแบนด์ ของ อัลเฟียน ซาร์ท เพื่อที่จะสามารถสื่อสารประเด็นเกี่ยวกับการปฏิบัติต่อผู้อื่นอย่างไม่เท่าเทียมได้ เนื่องด้วยการกำกับการแสดงละครเวทีแนวสุขนาฏกรรมเป็นแนวที่ผู้วิจัยคิดว่าตนเองยังไม่ถนัดและมีความสนใจที่จะเรียนรู้เพื่อหากระบวนการการกำกับการแสดงที่สามารถสร้างเสียงหัวเราะให้ผู้ชมและในขณะเดียวกันก็สามารถสื่อสารประเด็นสำคัญเรื่องการปฏิบัติต่อผู้อื่นอย่างไม่เท่าเทียมที่เป็นเรื่องที่กระทบใจผู้วิจัยอย่างมากที่ซ่อนอยู่ในเรื่องไปด้วยได้ โดยบทละครเรื่องนี้มีความท้าทายตรงที่ถูกเขียนขึ้นโดยชาวมาเลย์สิงคโปร์แต่ผู้วิจัยต้องกำกับการแสดงให้ผู้ชมที่เป็นชาวไทยได้รับชม นอกจากการศึกษากระบวนการกำกับการแสดงละครเวทีแนวสุขนาฏกรรมแนวเสียดสีแล้ว ยังต้องศึกษากระบวนการการกำกับการแสดงโดยข้ามวัฒนธรรมจากวัฒนธรรมมาเลย์สิงคโปร์มายังผู้ชมชาวไทยให้ได้อีกด้วยผู้วิจัยเริ่มจากการรวบรวมข้อมูล ศึกษาข้อมูลต่าง ๆ ทั้งกระบวนการสร้างเสียงหัวเราะ สิ่งที่ทำให้ผู้ชมหัวเราะ กลวิธีการเสียดสี การกำกับการแสดง และที่สำคัญคือเรื่องของศาสนาและวัฒนธรรมเพราะตัวละครในเรื่องเป็นชาวมาเลย์สิงคโปร์ที่นับถือศาสนาอิสลาม มีวิถีชีวิตที่แตกต่างจากสังคมไทย เพื่อให้เข้าใจรายละเอียดที่มาที่ไปของการกระทำของตัวละคร นำมาวิเคราะห์ตีความและสร้างเป็นกรอบคิดเพื่อทำการทดลอง ผู้วิจัยมองว่า การจะทำให้ผู้ชมเข้าใจสารของเรื่องผ่านละครแนวสุขนาฏกรรมแนวเสียดสีนั้น จะต้องทำงานผ่าน 3 องค์ประกอบดังนี้ คือ 1. การทำงานกับนักแสดง 2.การทำงานกับจังหวะบนเวที และ 3. การทำงานกับภาพบนเวที เมื่อได้องค์ประกอบทั้งสามอย่างนี้แล้ว จึงเตรียมการซ้อม โดยการวิเคราะห์ตีความตามหลักการกำกับการแสดง ทั้งการหาความคิดหลัก ความต้องการ การกระทำ และความขัดแย้ง โดยเน้นย้ำเรื่องแกนตัวละครเพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งทั้ง 3 องค์ประกอบเพื่อสื่อสารให้ผู้ชมสามารถเข้าใจประเด็นสำคัญของเรื่องเมื่อถึงวันแสดงผลการวิจัยพบว่าเมื่อทำงานผ่านองค์ประกอบทั้งสามอย่างตามหลักการกำกับการแสดงสามารถทำให้ผู้ชมสามารถเข้าใจประเด็นสำคัญของเรื่อง เกิดทั้งเสียงหัวเราะและความสะเทือนใจ และสร้างความตระหนักเรื่องการปฏิบัติต่อผู้อื่นอย่างไม่เท่าเทียมในใจของผู้ชมได้ สร้างความมั่นใจให้กับผู้วิจัยในการกำกับการแสดงละครเวทีแนวสุขนาฏกรรมแนวเสียดสี และยังสามารถสื่อสารประเด็นสำคัญของเรื่องให้กับผู้ชมชาวไทย ถึงแม้ว่าบทละครเรื่องนี้จะถูกเขียนขึ้นในบริบทของประเทศสิงคโปร์ได้อีกด้วย

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิจัยเชิงวิจัยและพัฒนา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาเกมเพื่อการสอนตีความบทเพลงขับร้องสำหรับผู้เรียนวัย 9-11 ปี เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แบบสัมภาษณ์นำร่อง 2) แบบประเมินคุณภาพเกม 3) แบบบันทึกหลังสอน 4) แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมนักเรียนระหว่างทำกิจกรรม และ 5) แบบสัมภาษณ์ความพึงพอใจผู้เรียนที่มีต่อสื่อการสอน กลุ่มตัวอย่างในงานวิจัยครั้งนี้แบ่งออกเป็น 3 กลุ่ม คือ 1) กลุ่มผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ จำนวน 7 ท่าน 2) กลุ่มผู้ประเมินคุณภาพเกม จำนวน 3 ท่าน และ 3) นักเรียนขับร้องที่ผู้วิจัยสอน จำนวน 1 คน ทำการเก็บข้อมูล โดยการศึกษาเอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องและการสัมภาษณ์ และนำมาพัฒนาเป็นต้นแบบเกม จากนั้นนำเกมไปให้ผู้เชี่ยวชาญประเมิน และนำไปทดลองใช้ วิเคราะห์ผลโดยการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา และการวิเคราะห์เชิงสถิติพื้นฐาน ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลการวิจัย คือ ต้นแบบเกมเพื่อการสอนตีความบทเพลงขับร้องที่พัฒนาขึ้นประกอบด้วย ประกอบไปด้วย 2 ส่วน คือ 1) อุปกรณ์เกม ได้แก่ 1.1) ชุดการ์ดจำนวน 6 ชุด ได้แก่ ชุดการ์ดระยะช่วงเสียงจำนวน 4 ใบ, ชุดการ์ดระดับความดังเบาเสียง จำนวน 8 ใบ ชุดการ์ดอารมณ์เพลงจำนวน 9 ใบ, ชุดการ์ดคาแรคเตอร์ จำนวน 12 ใบ, ชุดการ์ดภารกิจจำนวน 13 ใบ, ชุดการ์ดรางวัล จำนวน 12 ใบ 1.2) แบบวิเคราะห์ท่อนเพลง 1.3) บอร์ดเกม 1.4) หมากเดินเกม 1.5) ลูกเต๋า 1.6) คู่มือประกอบการสอนและเล่น และ 2) กิจกรรม แบ่งออกเป็น 4 ขั้น คือ …

The history of male choral singing is as lengthy and storied as the history of all choral singing. In this dissertation, I explore activism, music, and meaning through the lens of HONK! Bands in the United States. HONK! A Festival of Activist Street Bands began in Sommerville, Massachusetts, in 2006. Since its inception, the festivals have grown on a national and global scale. The festivals, however, operate as a convenient organizing structure for the bands themselves and are not a primary focus of this work. Ecuador is a pluricultural and multilingual territory with four natural regions, several musical genres, and interpretations. Amazon, Galápagos, Mountain Range, and Coastal region. In the following dissertation, the author develops concepts of four traditional rhythms, their composers, and harmonic and phonetic characteristics from the mountain range region of his homeland, Ecuador.

The present document is a descriptive study of vocal Andean music and the application of the operatic style in classical vocal technique for performance practice.

The dissertation will support a lecture recital to fulfill the doctoral program's requirement in voice performance from the University of Kentucky.
